He wasn't poor! I was the last of 9 & we were poor. For breakfast my mom would put rice in a pot & pop it to make Rice Crispies. Then the oldest would eat a bowl with a fork to leave milk for #2 and it got passed on down the eating disassembly line. I got the snot, I mean milk & the burnt Crispies from the bottom of the pot after 8 eaters. But at least I got to use a spoon cuz I was spoiled.

When we had BBQ's, Carne Asada meant when you put your hand on the grate to check if it was hot enough

But after the BBQ we were still hungry because beans fall through the grate. But at least we drank fancy Sparkling Water... after adding a tablespoon of baking soda to the tap water

After years, we finally had satisfying BBQ's... upon discovering how to make Bean-kabobs on a stick. But we did good... 5 surviving children is still more kids than white people have
