  • Awesome animation! Can you please tell me how did you rig the gold gear mechanism (the cylinder which pushes the spring) ? Is it a spring with 0 turns which is attached to 2 objects? If not how did you rig it to 2 objects?

  • Impressive soundtrack !

  • did you model this in 3ds max? how can you get the spring to exert a force?

  • @sappdb Yes I did! This spring is not modelled, it's a tool of 3d max - Its a dynamic object of the creation pannel, and you can connect its ends to two different objects of your choice. If you move one of them, the spring will react. It's the same this as the hose tool.

  • @sandrony2004 That's cool. I modeled a V8 engine in inventor 2012. I want to export it to 3ds max, animate, and render it. I have modeled the valve springs in inventor using the dynamic simulation joints, but when I export it to 3ds max these springs are not included. I want to know if its possible to import, animate, include springs that act as springs not just moving objects, and render. Can you help me out?

  • @sappdb You cannot import a spring that will work and move. But it's pretty simple to use the spring tool from Max!

  • Chain keeps randomly repositioning around the gear

  • I had just learned how to make the smoke at the time and couldn't wait to use it - anywhere! (I don't forget how excited I was about it!)

  • what is the purpose of the cigarette??

  • Great work! Thanks for explaining how you animated the chain. I'll try to animate a tank tread using the same technique and post a video response if I am successful.

  • @bryceguy72 Hey! I am glad to help someone after being taught so much through the tutorials!

Let me know when you post it!

  • i've subbed

  • wow... to get reactor to run this smoothly w/o crashing... you are awesome. good job

  • OMG this is awesome, keep on going this way!

  • Muito Legal Cara...Parabéns....

  • parabems otimo trabalho!!!

    good work

  • Obrigado! :-)

  • how can tou model and animate the chain ? =/

  • I made one set of link and one spline shaped like a chain. Then I attached the link to the chain (Animation>Path constraint) and cloned it around the entire length. The animation revolves around the duration of one turn of the chain and everything follows this timing.

  • nice work

     ;)
