Because most mermaid videos, the filmer sucks at getting them ( the mermaid ) on video tape... usaully they just get the fin instead of the whole body! Your filmer is great.

(Oh and im going to make a mermaid season video with mermaid tail, FOLLOWED by YOUR steps, and yes i will give you credit for helping me out. It's the best way to make a tail)
