Hello <3 I love the fact that you are actually using your brain and trying to figure things out :] That is absolutely wonderful ^-^ Problem is, you don't understand how the Word of God works and I can see that by your response to ktorch.
Please message me in private and bring up your question or concern (do not give me more than one question/concern, else you will be far too overwhelmed).
I love you and I will surely try and help you to see why you should be a faithful Catholic Christian <3
@TheCatholicCommunity isnt it said somewhere in the bible that man will never understand the word of god? and if the word of god is so easily understood in the first place, then why are there so many misinterpretations? and nothing u can say or do will make me wanna be a catholic, the very idea of god sickens me.
Two of the gospels were written by the apostles Matthew and John, men who knew Jesus personally and traveled with him for over three years. The other two books were written by Mark and Luke, close associates of the apostles. These writers had direct access to the facts they were recording. The early church accepted the four gospels because they agreed with what was already common knowledge about Jesus' life.
"And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written." - John 21:25
"as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction." - 2 Peter 3:16
Of course I can say so much more, but if you read all five parts from beginning to end, hopefully that has helped a bit <3
I know you say the very idea of god sickens you but of course it does, YOUR idea of god sickens me too. He seems like a horrible god, you have no idea how many perspectives I've seen of god, there is a definition of god or gods in almost every mainstream religion out there.
There is only one God and He does exist and does love you, just msg me <3
@TheCatholicCommunity what makes ur god so much better than every other god? and the god i'm talking about is in fact YOUR god. the one who wanted all the ppl of the world killed and drowned for little to no reason. the god who smite and punished innocent ppl.
In the eyes of God the earth was corrupt and full of lawlessness.
12
When God saw how corrupt the earth had become, since all mortals led depraved lives on earth,
13
he said to Noah: "I have decided to put an end to all mortals on earth; the earth is full of lawlessness because of them. So I will destroy them and all life on earth.
Then the LORD said to Noah: "Go into the ark, you and all your household, for YOU ALONE in this age have I found to be truly just.
-
The punishment for sin is death Chazer, God saved many souls because of the flood. For the entire world was full of corrupt people would pass down the sin to the rest of the world and thus everyone would be going to Hell.
-
God did us a favor because of the flood and there is meaning to everything God does, message me for details.
@TheCatholicCommunity (a) it is impossible to assume that every single living person was full of sin EXCEPT Noah and his family. no doubt he and his family were sinners too and god was just picking and choosing
(b) you said so urself that the bible was written by man. if every human except Noah was drowned, then who wrote the bible to say what happened actually did? its also idiotic to believe in a story that says noah lived to be over 400 years old
@TheCatholicCommunity (c) u completely cast aside my references to god killing so many ppl. u say he does it with a reason. then explain to me his reason for what he just did to japan. r u telling me that every person who died was a sinner and deserved death? if u do then this conversation is over and ill end it with a "go fuck yourself you heartless, senseless, sad excuse if a human piece of shit catholic"
@TheCatholicCommunity p.s. - just because the bible says something happened doesnt make it true. ur following it on faith alone. search for the youtube video "Putting Faith in its place" and then try to have some common sense next time u try to quote the bible or w/e it is ur going to do.
@Chazerbaijann The Bible is not a science book, but it is scientifically accurate. We are not aware of any scientific evidence that contradicts the Bible to this day. - Astronomy w/ Stars Read Genesis 22:17 and Jeremiah 33:22 The Bible also says that each star is unique. 1 Corinthians 15:41 There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory. - Suspension of planet earth in space (Job 26:7) - and more
‘For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’
The blood carries water and nourishment to every cell, maintains the body’s temperature, and removes the waste material of the body’s cells. AlsoCARRIES oxygen from the lungs
It is a proven fact that a person’s mental and spiritual health is strongly correlated with physical health.[1] The Bible revealed this to us with these statements (and others) written by King Solomon about 950 BC.
The Bible suggests the presence of nuclear processes like those we associate with nuclear weaponry. This is certainly not something that could have been explained in 67 AD using known scientific principles (when Peter wrote the following verse).
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
a) I don't know how many times I have to tell you this, but here it is again. WE DO NOT RE-WRITE THE ORIGINAL SCRIPTURES, only the translations to other languages. If I want to read the Old / New Testament in its original language, I can do that and yes, it would be unchanged
@TheCatholicCommunity what makes the bible true anyways? u keep saying the bible tells the truth, what basis do you have to say that? its like the Putting Faith In Its Place video says, think about the cube and what is/is not inside it. there are many possible answers but if you wish to give it a definite answer then you need to supply evidence. and all you have is a bible...which was re-written, so its not necessarily reliable if u ask me.
Everything the Bible has to tell us - about everything from morals to history - is true. But it’s true in the Bible’s way of telling the truth, which is God’s truth, religious truth. That’s not a cop-out answer. You don’t read a math book looking for religious truths. We can’t assume to read this religious text in order to find mathematical and scientific proofs.
@TheCatholicCommunity maybe im just not as intelligent as i thought i was but that makes no sense whatsoever. and u still have yet to answer my question about whether or not u think the ppl in japan deserved to die. cause if u do, well then i just have nothing more to say to someone as disgusting as u.
Scripture gives us religious history, religious truth, and it conveys that truth and history to us through symbols and figures and different literary styles.
Read the seventh chapter of the Book Daniel: He describes 400 years of Israel’s history in terms of four beasts, four ugly animals that oppress God’s people, one after the other. Now, through research, we can see that these "beasts" each represent nations - Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome - that oppressed Israel.
@TheCatholicCommunity It sounds like if the bible didn't want people to think that it meant "beasts" it shouldn't have used a metaphor without clarity. However, the point is that the bible is being tampered with once again. It's happened all throughout history, that by humans deciding what to leave in and what to remove, as well as translating and revising it, the bible has been changed many times. Even if it was God's word, we'd have to learn the original language to read it unaltered.
We don't need to think about it. The bible has been translated, copied, translated again and copied again so many times that without the original transcripts it's impossible to determine if modern day versions resemble the original at all!
wELL, JUST SO YOU KNOW, all versions of the Bible used the most appropriate words for the day they were translated. Very few of us would be able to read it at all, if it was still in it's original languages.
but why would god create a bible that couldnt even be understood in the first place? why not just have it written so everyone of every time would be able to understand it? doesnt it sound a lot like humans wrote it and just update it as we go along to "fit it in" with todays day in age? come on, u cant seriously be THAT blind, can u?
Some people have the idea that the New Testament has been translated "so many times" that it has become corrupted through stages of translating. If the translations were being made from other translations, they would have a case. But translations are actually made directly from original Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic source texts based on thousands of ancient manuscripts.
For instance, we know the New Testament we have today is true to its original form because: 1. We have such a huge number of manuscript copies -- over 24,000. 2. Those copies agree with each other, word for word, 99.5% of the time. 3. The dates of these manuscripts are very close to the dates of their originals
The New Testament is humanity's most reliable ancient document.
And remember, MAN wrote the Bible, the Bible didn't write itself.
Anybody who lives by the Old Testament is a criminal and if by the new, delusional!

I believe it is very clear the answer to your question about flooding the world in the Bible itself.
Genesis 6:11
In the eyes of God the earth was corrupt and full of lawlessness.

13
he said to Noah: "I have decided to put an end to all mortals on earth; the earth is full of lawlessness because of them. So I will destroy them and all life on earth.

Statements Consistent With Biology
The book of Leviticus (written prior to 1400 BC) describes the value of blood.
Leviticus 17:11
‘For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’
The blood carries water and nourishment to every cell, maintains the body’s temperature, and removes the waste material of the body’s cells. AlsoCARRIES oxygen from the lungs

Proverbs 14:30
A sound heart is life to the body,
But envy is rottenness to the bones.
Proverbs 17:22
A merry heart does good, like medicine,
But a broken spirit dries the bones.
Proverbs 16:24
Pleasant words are like a honeycomb,
Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.
