I played against this Guy in high-school and he was week. We beat there football team 48 to 18. He's gotten better so Congrats to him at UCLA but were still going to beat them lol best of luck man
honestly, he doesnt look too fast. but his footwork and quickness are incredible. and the speed thing might just be the video.. in real time, he probably looks faster.
iv played against jr nd real talk he is not that good. he does hav potential nd all that but theres too much hype about him at times. good shit tho hope he tears it up at ucla wit some better coaching
He has real potential... by the way, what school does/did he go to? I'm from Mountain View and wondering if we will ever play him cause I know hes in the Bay Area, good luck in your next season, Rice Jr.
Just so we're clear, what happened in that game? "...Jerry Rice Jr., who had one rushing touchdown, one receiving touchdown and a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to power the Knights' scoring." Menlo 29 JS 17
I dont know if he's even gonna go anywhere cause he plays division 3 football at a school about 500 students and hasn't competed at the highest levels of highschool football where he would most likely get tore up by bigger schools
you are stupid as shit for even saying that u dnt need to be in a high high school class to get to a good college school... jerry rice went from a no name college to being a first round pick. kids from 1a and 2a schools even go to division 1 college schools
Well put... Not to mention SOMEbody will want Jr. for the legacy if nothing else! Not to say he hasn't or won't have to earn it once he's there, but he'll definitely get there.
slow? are you kidding me? did you not see this kid outrun teams for kr's,pr's,ctch's, int's???? he is a playmaker thru and thru!! he has good speed not reggie bush but he has something that will take him a long way an that is VISION. he see's the field an boom, just explodes!! not to mention breaking tackles left and right, spinning, stiff arming. looks like jerry rice will be back in the nfl again! on this time with a JR. at the end of his name!!!
He looks slow but that is what they sayd about his father. I think if the dde has some of his fathers mental diciplane then he will be good one. Letts not forget that speed can be improved by training hard.
He is tuff and the kid is a playmaker. I hope he will consider SDSU for sure. I know thats a reach but SDSU sent players to the league next level every year. Great job Rice jr, show these haters that you are not just a son of Jerry Rice. Good luck!
hmmm.....leave it to non atheletic dummies to make such a comment like "slow" or he can't play on the college level with that size. You must be on crack while watching this kids highlight video. He does nothing but making plays...I mean..the kid is returning kick off for TD, catch a pass for TD, make a run for TD. Hell, If I were you, I would leave it up to people who knows football to make that decision. By the way, he is learning from the best ever to play the position of WR. Gread job!
Duh!! What's so weird about wearing 2 different numbers. Someone stole his jersey that's why. They are already anticipating him being great so they decided to steal his high school jersey and get a jump on the sports memorabilia.
hey guys remember this jerry rice was also critized for hhis speed and droping passes and look what he did he got better not just better he became the best. so give jr some time he'll get his speed up and he'll do good like his father
What???? Corner, receiver, PR, KR, RB. 5'-10" is adequate to play all of those positions in the NFL, let alone college football. He is only 17, he'll grow more ...
How in the hell is 5-11 185 small! Get a life. There are plenty of great players that size. Plus he only just turned 17. I'm sure all the guys he's playing against are anywhere from 18-20 yrs. old, because they couldn't make the grade or was held back so they could be bigger playing sports. Which a BIG trend these days. Some of these high schoolers are maybe older than that.
looks good from the videos ive seen, where is he ranked? no pressure on this kids, only the son of the greatest receiver( player) that ever played and this kid happens to play the same position. hopefully he"ll be better than michael jordans sons
I thought he lost his jersey and since Ryan was hurt, he used his.... That play against Sacred Heart (4th) was really something (Reggie Bushesque as Colin and I put it... our best call of the year for sure)!

yeah 4 sure he is not slow...his break away speed isnt the best but his cut speed reminds me of a little guy by the name of Reggie Bush
cmoney420420 3 years ago
is he a junior or senior?
K3sW 3 years ago
The reason he's getting caught in the open field is because the DBs have angles on him. Angles>speed.
A lot of recruits work out with Edison (Fresno) coach Tony Perry at an incline, and get substantially more burst.
To the guy that says there aren't many positions for him to play: most WRs, CBs, FS, RBs,KR, PR, and many SS are about his height.
