  • holy fuck these people are smart.

  • "both of these are ridiculous"

Perhaps, but I can't in all attempted objectivity see much that says the first position is ridiculous, whereas the second one obviously is. Murray is a prohibitory shill though and a bit of an idiot so we can expect that kind of false ignorant dichotomy from him.

  • If a person has the gene for psychosis then a wide range of environmental stimuli could cause that gene to express itself, so by this logic we should make rock concerts, church, and anything which we assume causes schizophrenic genes to blossom. A schizophrenic is fucked regardless of weed. There is not a single British scientist that can take a normal brain and prove through scientific causation that cannabis has damaged the brain to cause psychosis; so stop fucking making unjustified claims.

  • I can say from experience some people are more susceptible to developing psychosis than others. I wasn't a regular smoker but when I did on occasion do it, it amplified my existing delusions. I'm not saying its bad, people just need to be cautious about it. Even if you're not susceptible at all to psychosis, you should at least keep moderation in mind.

  • LOL i suppose you could develop psychosis after you realize how much we've been lied to about cannabis and the current situation.

  • I believe we're only at the tip of the iceberg on seeing the real damaging effects of pot. It has never been in wide use historically. Certainly not in the Western world. Now it is becoming ubiquitous. Real damaging effects are beginning to emerge. Besides the mental effects of this hallucinagenic drug. It is everybit as much of a carcinogen as tobacco, if not more so. I'd like to see the modern promoters of pot get sued like the tobacco companies.

  • @VictorLepanto ...... Cannabis has been in use (proven) by humans for the last 10.000 years.. and guess what.. if you took even 1 minute to look this up, tobacco.. 400.000 deaths in the US per year alone. cannabis 0 deaths in 10.000 years.. wake up, do some research, educate yourself, and stop talking out your ass.

  • @1trilop2: Dude, put the buds down & start getting high on life. EVERY single carcenogen (that is chemicals that cause cancer) found in tobacco is found in pot. It isn't the nicotine that usually kills you w/ tobacco, unless you die of a hearth attack. It is the so-called tar, that is filled w/ these carcinogens. Also, pot has LOWER burning temperature, so more of the carcinogens survive the burning process. Pot is killer & it ruins your mind. Given it & grow up.

  • @VictorLepanto just another case of unfounded claims and unresearched opinions. Saying that every carcinogen that is in tobacco is in cannabis as well if just an asinine statement, and shows your complete lack of knowledge on the subject. Not that smoking ANYTHING is healthy, but comparing cannabis and tobacco is a joke. But hey, why think for youself when there is so much government propaganda to believe... Pot ruins your mind?? Carl Sagan, Steve Jobbs, Michael Bloomberg.. ye, real ruined minds

  • @1trilop2: It is no more assine then blankly asserting that they are not. Go google on mariuana & cancer, as I did. You might even find a few videos on pot & cancer on Youtube. There is simply no way deliberately inhaling smoke is good for you. You psychological attachment & hysterical reaction to my statements is proof of how unbalanced you are on the subject. "Bloomberg?!" That fairly proves my point.

  • @VictorLepanto there was nothing hysterical about my reaction. everything i know about marijuana is because i have read enough about it to know the truth. just because you believe the first couple of government /anti-marijuana propaganda articles you pull up on google or some of the absolutely outrageous anti-marijuana videos on youtube does not mean you have researched the subject. "the union: the business behind getting high. educate yourself before you try and oppress others freedom of choice

  • @1trilop2: Pointing out the simple fact that pot is carcinogenic & will make you crazy is not oppresssing anyone's free speach. You obviously didn't watch this video. This woman is very clearly documented, on film, having a psychotic episode from taking in canabinoid chemicals. This is a BBC documentary, perhaps that's what you mean by gov't propaganda. I've seen other BBC documentaries on pot & they point that it has hardly been studied scientifically. It will get much worse for you.

  • dam i havent seen by best homie james in like a week then talked to his mom today found out hes in the hospital for schitzofrenia. he doesnt remember me or any of his other friends she said. and it took him a couple of hours to remember her last night when she visited him last night. and he quit smoking weed about three or four weeks ago. and hes one of those people you think will never quit.

  • "I've been a Doctor now for 30 some years & the number of patients I've admitted to the hospital with complications related to Marijuana use was exactly one (related to Alcohol is enormous). When I was an intern in 1978, somebody smoked Cannabis laced with PCP & had a psychotic reaction."

    Dr. Donald Abrams

  • -"We share 99% of our genes with mice & we even have the genes that could make a tail!"

Dr Jane Rogers, The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute

-"They (PMID: 11269508) injected THC into the tumor of mice that were given these tumors. The x-rays of the brains of these mice the tumor goes away in 3 days. Surrounding brain tissue no problem, no negative effect on it. Marijuana, Endocannabinoids & Phytocannabinoids actually promote Neurogenesis creation of new brain cells even in adults."

    Dr. Melamede

  • I smoked a good amount two days ago or so and I feel like I am going insane. I have not smoked anymore. I'm afraid to drive in this condition and I feel that the cannabis exposed some sort of underlying mental illness. The only mental illness in my family is bipolar disorder and my symptoms don't mesh up with that. I'm slightly better than yesterday but still not 100 percent clear. I was diagnosed with ADHD last year (which I think is bullshit) but it feels like ADHD times 100. Kinda scary.

  • @RainJetSprinklers You probably need to smoke more.

  • @MrSafetymeeting

Yeah I did like 3 days ago and I'm better now hahaha

  • i use it medicinally- when i didn't use it i was homeless 3x and dropped out of university and had crippling depression- now I take about a gram a day and was on the Deans list, never homeless and professionally emoployed for 6 years now without any problems. I finally have a independent socially responsible life...with cannabis.

  • I don't think they are equally ridiculous. There is more good in cannabis then harm. Certainly not as much harm as the anti-cannabis people would have you believe. Pro-cannabis folks do tend to be a little overly optimistic, but they are working a little closer to reality then the opposition.

But it doesn't matter if something is good or bad for you. It's all a matter of personal choice. I should be the one who decides what goes in my body and I accept whatever risks there are.

  • I haven't smoked that much over the last 2 years, but I am still feeling an affect .. trust me, don't do it.

  • @ModemPictures That's a logical fallacy more accurately known as a teleological argument [arguing from final consequences]. You're also confusing correlation with causation - a major confounder in cannabinoid use/abuse discourse. We see this most often in associating cannabis use with mental illness. Many factors contribute and self medicating with cannabis is a means of coping with stress and symptoms. Whilst one can never discount pot not eliminating other factors is poor science and crap care

  • @ModemPictures I did it every other day or so for my last semester in college. One day I felt like I was losing my mind. My grades dropped, and I dropped out of college. I felt my mental faculties had been robbed. It has definitely effected me negatively.

  • @zadeh79 sounds like you haven't even tried it once!?

  • @ModemPictures your fucking retarted. weed all day woop woop woop!!

  • One joint of cannabis can 'switch on' panic attacks which can devastate your life. It's not worth it.

  • @ModerateMartian Evidence please?

  • @ModerateMartian thats why u take knowledge of the possibility of panic attacks. try to have a small dosage to not get one. have a friend to make u remember that ur infact causing the panic attack yourself. if u think something like : omg im gonna have a panic attack. im certain youll get one. if, on the opposit, ur expectation of the drugs effects is a nice and relaxing buzz, then you wont get panic attack. sorry for bad grammar, i dont speak english + i dont care!

  • @ModerateMartian That is the kind of attitude that gives you a panic attack when smoking bud, Why smoke something that gives jah joy when your a negative minded person. You can have a panic attack at any time so how can bud 'switch' them on?

  • Cannabis does rewire brain if used often.

  • @garagecrap As, er, per your grammar? Alcohol's fine one supposes. Addictive prescription medication is fine also?

It's a matter of context. Cannabinoids can also alleviate the symptoms of many diseases - including psychosis. CBD is anti-psychotic and neuroprotective, whilst anandamide is lacking in the CNS of schizophrenics.

Those with predisposition to mental illness, gravitate toward it's use.

Regrettably, prohibition ensures unmonitored abuse and media hysteria.

  • @firesnakepodcast grammar???

  • @garagecrap Indeed. Putting the multiple errors of your statement aside, you likely meant "Smoking cannabis does rewire the brain if it is done often enough". So...

Do you mean using the brain often?

Do you argue the dried portion of marijuana can by itself "rewire" the brain?

Are you arguing the brain has wires?

Essentially, I have an image of a herb itself working away on wires in the head because the wired brain is overused.

  • @garagecrap ahhhhhh shhaaaadaaaaapppp

  • @garagecrap If grammar is the most important thing in your life you better go and have a bong dude.

  • "both of these are ridiculous" - Great response in my opinion as its so true. I've always viewed Moderate Cannabis use as quite normal and healthy but to say it has no adverse affects is not true. The way I see it, Cannabis can be used as part of a healthy lifestyle but it is only one part and should not hinder a person's aspirations or self asteem. If it does, it's time to take a break and concentrate on moving forward with your life.
