Jonathen was awesome. These days everyone is scared stiff of strangers and small children are taught to think that any person they don't know will come and kidnap and kill them. Some strangers, however, are lovely. They are just people you don't know yet.
There was obvious clues/evidence that Jonathon took care of Laura, though he wasn't there to meet her dad. Reminds me of entertaining angels, we do not know who we've entertained, but when they disappear, we wonder if we've Biblically entertained an angel sent by God.
LOL whenever he used to take his shirt of to go "wash up in the creek" I'd think, that Caroline ingalls is one lucky woman... okay okay, I'll stop now.
Landon is doubled here by Hal Burton at Donnell's Vista in the scene where he carries Gilbert down the rocky slope, with Victor French follwing him, while Michael is directing the shots atop of the camera crane.
3:33 - 4:40 is possibly the most beautiful, touching, moving, and tear-jerking music I've ever heard...and I have over 40 soundtracks. The rest is great too, of course.
My favourite part is 4:17-4:21...that little theme gets me every time.
@iluvburpees If you love this music, you may be a Richard Strauss fan without knowing it! Listen to the trio from "Die Rosenkavalier" (give it into Google or Youtube and you'll find it!) for a taste. Don't be afraid- it's opera!
@fraulein40 Since writing this comment I have taken a 1 semester music course from the traditional Catholic college I attended for two years and graduated from last year. I have actually become very partial to opera! And I know now why you mention Strauss...this is very similar. Somewhat reminds of Tod und Verklarung. I will check out this part of the opera you referenced.
Funny, even with all the music I've uncovered since then, I still love this music!

Both she and Borgnine played their parts perfectly. Can't imagine anything that might improve on them.
