What a waste it was with this stupid vote AV. Only reason clegg wanted AV is, because he thinks Lib Dems would stand more chance of being elected and more mp's.
We wanted a vote on being in out of the EU, not some poxy AV vote. Now give us a bloody vote on the EU. The corrupt Lib dems are pro EU. Lets destroy the LibLabCon.
Africa for the Africans,Asia for the Asians, white countries for EVERYBODY!
Maybe if Saddam Hussein had just flooded the Kurdish villages with non-Kurds and ordered the Kurds to "assimilate" with the non-Kurds to "celebrate diversity" he could have waited a few decades, wiped out the Kurds as an ethnic group, and no one would have accused him of committing genocide?
Don't buy the Sun - it's aimed at working class but is in the pocket of the tory ruling class. Buy the mirror, guardian or independant (or i) instead.
@IndieKidFilms Okay. But this video isn't about the Lib Dems, it's about the Alternative Vote referendum - a YES vote is supported by the Labour leadership and the Green Party. So I don't see how you can say a yes vote is just a Lib Dem thing. Plus Lib Dems are all (supposedly) Tories now right? And the Tories are opposing AV! They're the ones funding the No campaign.
Eh, not sure I'm overly fond of this video. Mostly just buzz-words and meaningless pandering. Don't get me wrong, I support AV all the way, but this video appears to be targeting toddlers, whereas it should be trying to target Sun and Daily Mail readers. There's quite a big difference you know. The second group can vote.
AV is going to be rejected because the public sheep have fallen for the Tory press and their chums pack of lies.
This is why I believe Scotland should be independent, because Britain is under the thumb of the Tory loving media barons and their chums who'll say any pack of lies and make the public believe it.
Scotland hates the Tories and I'll never forgive the FibDems for betraying us by selling out to them.
THis is a typical 'Yes' campaign waste of money.. I was in the pub this afternoon and not one of the guys I was talking to understood what AV was about. That was why they were going to vote NO. The Yes campaign should be concentrating on explaining the mechanics of AV . The mechanics explain the rightness of it.
@ejohnh Many people do not want to understand it, they are blissfully ignorant of constitutional structure of the country and of politics in general. For the apolitical among the electorate it is much easier to maintain the status quo than to take an interest in how their country is run.
@ejohnh Not too hard to look it up: youtube.com/watch?v=3Y3jE3B8HsE. Personally though if my vote was purely based on how each side was trying to get your vote I'd still go for Yes.
@Mienaikage This is where the mistake is made: not everyone is web literate. I've had a NO leaflet thru my door. Haven't seen a sign of a YES leaflet anywhere. Oh yes, I can look it up. This is exactly why the Yes campaign will fail - and it shouldn't fail because it is proper democratic progress. This turn out is going to be abysmal because people just don't understand what AV actually means. I'll vote yes in spite of the silly YES campaign.
@themilkmister The most watched TV programs on British TV are 'Britains Got Talent' and 'X Factor'. 90% of the population shouldnt be allowed to vote anyway.
Unfortunately it seems the NO side will win. AV isn't perfect but its a start, but it seems the populist media has deceived everyone into believing AV and PR as a whole is bad. I don't live in Britain but I am still hoping AV will be implemented.
Has anyone here seen the appalling "No" campaign leaflets from the Conservatives? They are so deceitful, most if not all of the points they make in them are lies.
If anyone has seen them, we all know that there is no real "good" argument to go against the AV system, just goes to show that the Tories don't want to give up their power; they're AFRAID!
Hopefully, if this is passed, this will be the first step on the road to having a proportional representative system in Britain.
AV won't happen.

lib dems are pussy not to insist on Instant Runoff (AV) voting as a condition of the coalition with the tories
there's nothing even vaguely confusing about it, unless you're too stupid to count
i know because we've got it

The fact that AV is not doing well in polls is breaking my belief that the most of public are semi-smart.

@themilkmister LOL 90% of the public are uninformed, the few who think they are in-the-know getting their information from a rag like the Daily Mail.

Guys, you *REALLY* need to point out that this is a much fairer voting system and isn't as complex as The Sun makes it out to be!
No point talking about how hard it will make the MPs work, we all know you're lazy.

@rockerwere To be fair the average Sun reader probably doesn't know how to vote
