every computer featured involving a PC, Macs run intel too.. Apple is now the top computer company. Get it together intel, im not subbing becuase im a mac, and i don't PC
You're trying to sell your Intel chips... so you tell people to buy a new PC? Why not just tell them to buy new Intel chips and upgrade their current computer? Let's say they do buy a new PC, and it has an AMD processor in it, you don't want that. You want them to buy Intel. Silly Intel advertisement team! If you just tell them to buy an Intel chip, instead of buy a new PC, you could sell more chips ;-)
They do not know wtf they are talking about. My computer is 9 years old and play's hd video with no problems at all while running two to three other task at the same time with only 512Mb 133 mhz SDram. So I think it is just a big scam to sucker you in to buying something that is not needed. Pentium 4h/t lives forever
It depends on the program some use more cpu some use more video card power.. yes you can run hd stuff in low end systems but the question really is.. When you want to edit that video do you mine waiting a long time for it too encode..
I have a computer thats dual 933mhz cpu 1gig 133mhz ram.. 5 ide ports on the board.. its old.. but it was a sever and it runs hd just find O and the video card is only a geforce 6600gt
Adobe Flash absolutely sucks, there is hardly much difference between the laptop on the left and the laptop on the right, not even 50% more performance if you look at task manager. Don't waste your money, just watch it in HQ instead or download the MP4 and play ti in VLC. It will play perfectly smooth. Fuck youtube.
On my terrible computer, all i have to do is wait till youtube has finished buffering the video then it's fine, i cant watch it whilst its buffering and stream it. but, i have a 8.5mb connection on both of my computers so its no problem waiting 2 mins
what they saying then, they sold use some dodgy piece of hardware ages ago and in 3 years time they'll tell us why are new laptop is shite haha. buy a mac
Youtube "HD" is jerky on my computer, yet local 720p AVI, WMV, and MP4 files are not... And I'm running a 5 year old AMD Athlon2400+ I think flash video is to blame - specifically the codec youtube are using on some HD videos. Whats more I know someone with a Intel Pentium D thats 3 years old and HD vids play fine. Great advertising there intel, gotta rack up those sales somehow huh
uhh im on a 4 year old laptop and it plays HD youtube just fine. Both of my 4 year old laptops play HD fine, one is an AMD single core @ 2.4ghz the other is an in tel dual core at 1.66ghz.
AMEN BROTHA!!! i am still using a pentium 4 pc and it plays hd videos fine. only it takes to damn long to load (cuz my internet). besides HD is for people who are "living the good life". i just dont give a damn about having a fast rig. the only tings i care about is having a rig that cvan pay a game at at least 30 to 70 fps. and i would do the same thing btw.
Don't get me wrong, but besides comparing 2 different OS's, who the hell puts Vista Ultimate on a old pc and bitches about speed?
"The old Centrino (Sonoma) pc is a Clevo M4A that used 2005 vintage ATI discrete graphics (ATI Mobility Radeon X700) Pentium M 740 processor (2.0GHz), 1GB RAM running Vista Ultimate.
The newer pc is a Sony VAIO FW170J which does use our integrated graphics (GM45 chipset, GMA 4500MHD graphics) Core 2 Duo P8400 processor (2.26GHz) 4GB RAM and Vista Home Premium"
The GMA 900 Intel intergrated graphic chip doesn't seem to be able to handel HD video on Youtube with Pentium M 750. I tried the Intel 945GM w/ GMA 950 with a Celeron M 430 and a Core Duo T2300e. The Celeron M laptop has trouble playing HD on screen but sound from the speaker goes smoothly. The T2300e is able to play HD on screen and sound smoothly when speed step is enable or disabled. (Both laptops running Vista Business with Aero + glass enable)
as if youtube HD existed wayback in 2006. and of course the processor would be faster and who would produce a cpu that would lack the speed than its predecessor?
Well it's an HP Dragon, one of those 20 inch laptops that they were giving away last year - I won one of them, google 31daysofthedragon compared to my custom build from October last year.
To be fair I was running OEM Vista on it, I'm going to be comparing Win7 on both systems though, soon.
You have Core Duo or Core 2 Duo? My 2006 Core Duo w/ intergrated Intel GMA 950 (Crappy graphic card for gammers) played HD movies smoothly (Avg. CPU load is 60-70%). The Celeron M single core had trouble with the HD movie, but not with sound (Avg. CPU load 95-100%)
I have a laptop with a Core Duo processor and a laptop with a Pentium M processor. The Core Duo laptop has a Radeon X1300 graphics card and the Pentium M laptop has an Intel 915GM integrated graphics card. Since both laptops were upgraded to Wireless N, both were able to play the HD streaming video at the same time.
hehe, the thing is, when i bought my laptop the processor chip mine was was barely getting popular, so it was so flippin expensive! ahaha. But now, you got better, faster processors, for less o.O
I defiantly rather Intel over AMD, but I rather ATI over Nvidia. Getting Core 2 Duo 2.8Ghz, 4GB Ram, 500GB HDD, and 2 ATI 4650s 1GB overclocked in crossfire
I'm just throwing this out there, my AMD phenom II 2.1Ghz tri-core (for a desktop) was around $200 at the same time as my Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme 2.8Ghz dual-core (for a laptop) was around $2500 and the AMD seems to do things faster than the Intel.
HD Quality (16:9) is a great pleasure in 2009. YouTube is excellent and offers optimal solutions. Even for embedding. cm little blog entries, you can extend with a single click to fullscreen. A beamer then could project without problems a picture of 5m of diameters to the wall. And the human eye anyway is not particularly demanding. BtW-When I export my 10min YouTube uncompressed Avi File, it has a size of 60GB. But I'm sure in 3 years I'll be glad about to produce in HD.
I got an old 2002 laptop with only 246 MB of ram and it sucks. I want a netbook :(

I have a P3 (1.06ghz 512mb pc133ram) Thinkpad.
It plays HD just fine. But what's the damn point? SD takes up less resources and looks just the same on laptop screens.
Face it, HD is for folks with 25"+ screens that still sit eye-ball to pixel, and bitch about detail.
I'd like to see someone with a 10" netbook bitching about how HD vid is the shit on their laptop, I'd prolly kill them.
