Benedict XVI receives the Anglican Primate Rowan Williams at the Vatican

Rowan Williams was initially welcomed as one of the greatest of the Primates since the Reformation. Now he has purportedly undone the Reformation, where does that leave him ? Without superlative, of course.

Dear Anglican cousins. The Eucharist means nothing if a priest can not confect it. The Holy See has, time and again, declared against Anglican orders. While this may be iffy at this time due to wandering bishops who claim apostolic succession, it is of absolute fact that women can never be priests, nor ever consecrate the Eucharist. Nor "ordain" priests. Why does this seem not to bother Dr. Williams?

Why is Benedict XVI meeting with Archbishop Rowan Williams? He is not the head of the Anglican Church, Queen Elizabeth II is. I am an Anglican myself and find this quite odd.

@ashtonmadhatter No, you are wrong.. Queen Elizabeth is the Supreme Governor of the Church of England. Rowan Williams is the Archbishop of Caneterbuty. Elizabeth is head of ONE Anglican church (the Church of England).. which is part of the Anglican Communion. Rowan Williams is head of the Anglican Communion (includes the Church of England, Church of Ireland, Church of Australia, Episcopal Church USA, Church of Canada, etc.)

@pdogger1 outlawed from where? the US (where I live) can never outlaw a religion, as it would go against our constitution. Most European countries are similar, with some even having Catholicism as the official religion, as well as Islam in the middle east.. it will not be outlawed. And child molestation, a terrible terrible thing, happends in all religions and countries.

@jantoniello There is only ONE Holy Father and he resides in Heaven. And THE Faith is in the Gospels, The Body of Christ is in the scripture..the head? No this is exceeding what is written. Christians will submit to Christ, there are no other mediators besides the Lord.

The keys was given to St. Peter the Apostle "The First Pope", and whatever Peter binds on earth will bound in heaven, whatever Perter loose on earth will be loose in heaven.

Meaning Peter as well as his successors from st.peter to St. Linus to St. Anacletus upto nowadays Blessed John Paul II to Pope Benedict XVI.

Anglicanism came directly from catholic church but that in the past, now is the time reconcile be as one big community in the name of Christ.
