Actually, that's not true...animals such as tigers and tiger sharks have been known to hunt for sport...and some animals, just like humans, when they have biological and neurological impairments will hurt without any apparent reason. Funny how this movie sells for hundreds of dollars for the Criterion dvd but the laserdisc version which I own ain't worth sh!t. The most disturbing part of this isn't the actual feces eating, but the scene in which the few kids who are chosen to die(they are chosen based on how uncooperative they were) are rounded up in a room, with several girls tied up naked in a tub of feces. One of them cries out why has the Lord forsaken them, then moves to a shot in a nearby room with young soldiers playing cards, laughing as is nothing is going on. I don't see a work of art in this movie.
It's not really that intelligent at all, and won't teach you anything that you may already know. It's obvious the movie was made to shock the audience, maybe even to inform a little bit(but there are other better movies for that). It's only a few scenes that depict graphic content, and, as other have said, the worst part about the whole thing is how they make their victims emotionless through most of the movie.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and mine is I just did not care for this movie at all. I knew some of what to expect, so it wasn't the extreme nature of it that annoyed me, cause I was prepared. It was just when this movie was done, I was bummed I wasted 2 hours watching it.
Some movies like Irreversible and Inside are disturbing, but are powerful. This just was a bunch of characters I didn't care about and ridiculous acts performed. If you're gonna do a sick movie, do it right.
That's cool, you'll notice the first thing I said is "everyone is entitled to their opinion". That includes me. I didn't care for this movie. People may consider it intelligent, but I don't. I've seen disturbing movies, moreso than this, but I just don't consider this good.
I see what the director was trying to do, and he was obviously successful if you all liked it. But I don't. I didn't enjoy it, I don't respect it, and to me, I don't consider this "art". You can, but I don't.

There are 4 parts in which they take underage children, rape them, make them eat there own and other peoples shit and then eventually execute them in the most inhumane way. In one execution they, for example, took one of the boys eyeballs out and burnt him. So i guess what im trying to say is watch the movie before you make such outrageous claims.

Funny how this movie sells for hundreds of dollars for the Criterion dvd but the laserdisc version which I own ain't worth sh!t. If you know someone that thinks they're hardcore and has never really seen " hardcore " movies. Show them this. I taped this for a guy in 94 and he never talked too me again.

If anyone who has seen the movie understands the idea of the Illuminati or the new world order, you will then understand that it is the same thing that has been done for centuries. The director was trying to expose what goes on behind closed doors of the most powerful people in the world. Bohemian Grove anybody? This is also the reason why the director was killed. It has nothing to do with facism, it is much more deeper than that. You'd have to be a true intellect to figure this one out. Peace.

Intellectuals try to make excuses for it saying it makes subtle parallels to fascism, but personally i don't give a fuck in reality it just shows countless children being raped and tortured. I don't respect this director at all. People that claim symbolism are just making excuses for enjoying watching little girls and boys tortured/killed

That is what made it special. People refuse to watch another second of this movie decades ago, people thought it was disturbing and it is, in it's own way. Why? Because back then there weren't showing things like these, only read in books. That makes it special. It's a cult classic by being to disturbing it got band it serval countries that is what famous about this movie. It's art in it's own way.

The most disturbing part of this isn't the actual feces eating, but the scene in which the few kids who are chosen to die(they are chosen based on how uncooperative they were) are rounded up in a room, with several girls tied up naked in a tub of feces. One of them cries out why has the Lord forsaken them, then moves to a shot in a nearby room with young soldiers playing cards, laughing as is nothing is going on. I don't see a work of art in this movie.

It's not really that intelligent at all, and won't teach you anything that you may already know. It's obvious the movie was made to shock the audience, maybe even to inform a little bit(but there are other better movies for that). It's only a few scenes that depict graphic content, and, as other have said, the worst part about the whole thing is how they make their victims emotionless through most of the movie.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and mine is I just did not care for this movie at all. I knew some of what to expect, so it wasn't the extreme nature of it that annoyed me, cause I was prepared. It was just when this movie was done, I was bummed I wasted 2 hours watching it.
Some movies like Irreversible and Inside are disturbing, but are powerful. This just was a bunch of characters I didn't care about and ridiculous acts performed. If you're gonna do a sick movie, do it right.

That's cool, you'll notice the first thing I said is "everyone is entitled to their opinion". That includes me. I didn't care for this movie. People may consider it intelligent, but I don't. I've seen disturbing movies, moreso than this, but I just don't consider this good.
I see what the director was trying to do, and he was obviously successful if you all liked it. But I don't. I didn't enjoy it, I don't respect it, and to me, I don't consider this "art". You can, but I don't.

What a fucking stupid movie. I don't need some deep explanation from the wanna be artist/deep thinker types. It was just stupid. Basically the same shit the Elite would do on the weekend. I'm actually glad the director died. He was murdered by someone else who hated his trashy film but had the means to find and kill him. I wasn't disgusted by anything in it other than the shit eating part, but most people would have a gag reflex.
