  • Your titles are missleading. Change them.

  • how about an update video on that cabin, if it is completed..

  • your headline is how to survive and build a cabin in the woods nice but where is the survive part all your lumber was bought and where was the woods your on a lake with access to every one

  • How did the dock get there? You guys build it or but it and tow it in? You own it?

  • @jedirifleman we towed it across the Gulf of Alaska from Cordova to Kodiak with an 80 ft Crabber, then we built the cabin on it!

  • Winter vids? I imagine it's brutal at times . Well I live in Florida it's 74 degrees in mid December .

  • @Beachcrib true that! I would like to be in Florida soaking up some sun you lucky sucker and catching me some snook and mangrove snapper!!

  • This is no "wild adventure".

  • @hotsauceinyoureye well why don't you join us for a week and see how wild and hard it is to live in the alaska bush even with modern conveniences!!

  • @hotsauceinyoureye that is funny!!

  • @hotsauceinyoureye well you try to live in the wilderness and see how long you last. The most adventure you get is to drive your car to a dog park and walk your dog. We fly airplanes, run boats and go places PEOPLE have never even set foot if that is not a wild adventure than what is???

  • Sorry but i don't really get the point in living in the "wilds of Alaska" if you cant even live with out electricity or any of the other modern day amenities. Now if you where more like Dick Proenneke, then i would respect you guys more but all i see is a bunch of wimps that cant even cut down a tree with out a chainsaw.

  • @bustfer07 Dick Proenneke? sorry but sounds too lonely of a live for me. but you should "RESPECT ANYBODY" living out side the box!!! so go hug a tree & cry to a rock!!! sorry just my opinion of a sumbody who has probly neva dun nufin in his crummy little life!!

  • @6969smurfy all i'm saying is that they make sounds as if what there doing is hard work, when it really isn't. Most of the stuff they used looks like they bought it at home-depot, I don't see any cabin making skills or any " survival " skills what so ever. Its like me going to my back yard, cutting a few trees down and then building a shed with lumber that i bought at the store and then calling that How to survive and build a cabin in the woods.

  • @6969smurfy Dick Proenneek was an inspiration to me, you should look him up he has a movie about him self building a home and living in what i would consider to be the true wildness of alaska.

  • @6969smurfy true statement.. it is a tough life out here even with modern tools. I have respect for the wilderness and it's creatures an love to share my adventures with you!! Take care from the wilds of Alaska!!

  • @6969smurfy Apparently you don't know much about Mr.Proenneke. He wasn't self absorbed and looking for attention like many people these days are. His presence on the land benefitted his surroundings, and he left the world better than he found it.

  • @bustfer07 I've cut down trees without chainsaws, using axes and hand saws. When I was young, living in the forest in Hungary, we had no electricity or plumbing. Let me tell you, there's no romance in it. The outhouse stinks, the rooms are either too cold or too hot and you're ALWAYS chopping firewood. I would have given my left arm for a chain saw and internet...

  • @TheDamnSpot Thanks for the kind comment, I had to do things most of my life the hard way and have lived in primitive cabins in the woods with nothing, living off of the land. I like having modern amenities in the woods I enoy life and with the best to all of you!! Enjoy your life and do what makes you happy!!

  • Thanks! Yea the tanks are 8ft tall and came from an Hydro electric project that had a lot of left overs. What is cool also they are rubber lined on the inside and 1/2 in thick!

  • @AlaskaWildAdventures sweet, and that extra rubber makes them perfect for the job :) so far i seen few months ago some ex farmer, 3 cubic meter capacity oil tankers :) its kinda hard to find the right people to help you out tho. i hope when ill settle in scandinavia there will be more friendly folk around :)

  • @pleasanthacking There will, Friend. Settle in Norway or Sweden.

  • @AlaskaWildAdventures Hey awsume vid. I was born in Kodiak... I was moved to Michigan as a very young child! I need to check out my birth place some day.. who knows maybe I can ship a grain bin up there and build a house out of it, like i am doing here in Michigan!

  • @6969smurfy you should!! Alaska is great and I love fishing, hunting and living in the woods!!

  • whoa... are you building on a pontoon based structure so building codes dont apply that much as for the land based structures?

on my blog PleasantHacking com i placed a link on my unsandboxing article for some guy building houseboat on platform based on oil-drum pontoons.

i seen some similiar tank based thingies, so i wonder.

in any case great job going after it. it must feel awesome :)

  • @pleasanthacking Thanks and I think people should do what makes them happy!!

  • Very, very nice.

  • Love it!
