@miaugrunz Wasn't a good engine when it was new and it certainly isn't now, it was outdated when it was in production, Peugeot and Fiat were already making common rail engines at this point making more power, less emissions, better fuel economy and high levels of refinement and they were more reliable. Compare the amount of 1st generation HDi's that were sold compared to the amount of Vauxhall/Saab DTI 2.0/2.2's that were sold.... the figures speak for themselves.
what puzzles me is the price. It's not exactly a brand new developed engine, just modified a bit which isn't really hard with a modern turbodiesel. Runs cheap and great performance but the sale price is deterring
49k? What's the point then? It sounds horrible, it's not as quick as the petrol version and costs a lot more so any saving on fuel is cancelled out already (and the petrol VX220/Speedster is frugal already)
