  • land mark theater is in Syracuse NY. not rochester ny.

  • When I saw this performed live...I broke down and cried. this song hit me so hard for whatever reason and im not even irish! I was born and raised in america....and yet this song stuck right to my heart. Pure magic....

  • 4 dislikes!?!? LMFAO! Y? LOL

  • I WISH WITH ALL MY HEART THAT HAYLEY,MEAV,AND ORLA WERE STILL THERE!!!!

  • LOVE IT!!! but don't you have to blow into a bag pipe????

  • @cbrme97...A bagpipe yes, but this isn't a bagpipe...the instrument is a Ullean Pipe, ullean translates to "elbow' which if you watch is how the "bag" is pumped up, instead of by mouth like a bagpipe...

  • @gaeilgeO1 Ohhh! ok I though it was some special type of bagpipe that you blow air into then push the air out with your elbow... i don't know much about pipes though! thanks for the clarification!!

  • if the song for ellis island is this good, imagine how the one for Angel island would sound!

  • Beautiful ..

  • This song gives me chills every time.

  • Hillary Lynn That's beautiful.

    Lisa too.

  • I just love that song! The story of Ellis Island is incredible. If anyone does not have the "Songs from the Heart" CD, get it! IT'S TERRIFIC! Yes, it does have "O, America!" on it too!

  • this song gives me the chills:)

  • Chloe joined Celtic Woman when she was 15. XD

  • Where was this song when I started U.S. History?

  • @wessnyder117 I know. It should epecially be part of Irish-American history...but ANY American history could include it. ^_^ (In the sixties...a bit before my time, I've only read about it...someone put together a "history of Ireland through Irish music" for performances for schools. If they did one of those now, this song would probably be in it...and a few others that weren't around yet in the sixties. ^_^)

  • Purely amazing.

  • such talent class elgance today,s so called artist,s could lean a lot from this wondeful group

  • this soooooooooooooo beautiful

  • this is a great song and i am Irish , but i don't think you need to b Irish . it's the way these beautiful women sing it touches your soul..thank -you for posting this...

  • Finish the exhausting 2011 tour schedule... Take a break and then in the summer we NEED another DVD!

  • Any song can tell a story but Celtic Woman gives it life.

  • Erin Go Bragh

  • @pxxk6 Those are called uilleann pipes. They are considered the characteristic national bagpipe of Ireland, as opposed to the bagpipes you are used to seeing, which are Scottish. "Uilleann" is the Irish word for "elbow," which is how they are inflated, instead of by blowing air into a bag. :-)

  • Annie Moore was actually 13ys old when she got to Ellis island still a beautiful song

  • we did the is song is my junior high choir a bunch of 7th and 8th graders have nothing on celtic woman

  • The New Ground should have been the bagpipe theme from Titanic!

  • If they ever make a inspirational movie about the Wright Brothers, this would be an excellent background song for the lift off of Orville Wright for the first of four flights as the movie comes to an end.

    Celtic Woman is #1!

  • im mostly german. but i have a wee lil bit o irish in ma haha. so i guess im a little worthy.

  • The 3 dislikes all think that CELTIC WOMAN is the cheerleading squad for the BOSTON CELTICS.

  • Chloe is an angel, Lynn is a goddess, and Mairead is a pixie!! xD

  • I am in love with Chloe. Thumbs up if you are too.

  • @Hargak.......lip synch my ass you idiot. Get a clue but please don't breed, the world doesn't need any more of your kind.

  • @Cowpoker Look, when I saw them in concert, they did two songs live, one was the first one. you could hear Chloe breathe, and walk due to her boom mic. then it changed completely, it was like studio again. you can't run around and sing without noticing breathing. Just how it is. I love them. Lisa sux at lipsynch. I had a friend that worked on the crew and he said it's pre-recorded and they sing on top of it. I just like the organic live experience. about the breeding, then you wouldn't be here!

  • horrible lipsynch, great show, good songs. I went to the one in texas.

  • I will be so jealous of the guy who gets to wrap his arms around Chloe listen to her sing at home. Each of these phenomenal ladies is such a joy to listen to and watch.

  • @Gizmologist09 So will I, my friend. So will I.

  • @BeilinTheMagician: I think it's one of the two ladies on the right, and most likely the one on the far right. I know Chloe can sing low, but she's not doing it there. If you notice, the lady on the end tucks her head down... HTH

  • Which of the ladies is singing the low part starting at 4:51?

  • @BeilinTheMagician My best guess is Lisa the lady standing next to Chloe and Alex Sharp

  • i saw them last year in april. My favorite song is this one and Níl Sé'n Lá And i meet the guy who played the bagpipes He said he thinks he scared the guys in the mens room with his kilt.

  • i saw them last year in april. My favorite song is this one and Níl Sé'n Lá

  • I can barely believe that Chloe is only sixteen. She is amazing, and truly an inspiration!

  • @SnackAttac She was 20 when they recorded Songs From The Heart and she just had her 22nd birthday recently.

  • Every time i listen to this the intro gives me goosebumps

  • That smile is my life's dream

  • This song makes me cry, it touches me emotionally...and I'm not even Irish!!

As someone who immigrated to America very young, the song totally resonates with me.

  • @primohomme I immigrated from Sweden at the age of 9 so I know how you feel.

  • @primohomme Same here. Not Irish, born in America....but, I went to Ireland last year. Every time I listen to "Celtic Woman" music, I desperately want to go back.

  • @primohomme Three cheers. ^__^ (You don't have to be Irish to be Irish, as they say...plus it's also about immigration generally.) (Is anyone besides me imagining a whole bunch of children of various ages arriving at Ellis Island throughout the years? I realize Annie was fifteen so that's almost grown up...but still. ^_^)

  • @primohomme (continuation of my previous post) The Irish Tenors sang this on PBS years ago (I have it on tape) and the PBS pledge break lady (Trudy Fowler) said, if you phone in, please tell us if you are Irish, especially if you have an Irish last name so we can announce it on the air...and then she added, or if you're not Irish but your ancestors came through Ellis Island. ^__^ (Seems to me that if you're an immigrant yourself, that should count too...or even more so. ^__^)

  • @primohomme I know how you feel. I am from Sweden. I came to the US in 1981 (through Kennedy Airport). I remember it like yesterday still. The US is very special to me.

  • @primohomme

My maternal great grandmother probably felt the same way when she first came to this country in 1911, all the way from Hungary. She herself was only in her early teens at the time.

  • 4:00 to 4:07 lady in the foreground is Lisa little sis helen

  • I think it is so lovely and befitting that they are now showing the orchestra, conductor, etc., as they all make it come together beautifully. OMG this is exquisite. Those voices, the instruments! OMG all over chills; how lovely. It gives me a lump in my throat along with a slight smile at the beauty of this song and the voices of the ladies singing those beautiful lyrics. It just does not get any better than this. They are always flawless - they could not be otherwise. Thank you.

  • Beautiful women, beautiful voices, beautiful EVERYTHING!!

  • Chills. Every time.

  • Wut was Chloe singing at 5:39?

  • the man who brougth all these beautiful women togeather with the voices of angels must of been inspired by the creator him self I surely wish they would all the women to get togeather for a reunion the voices of those women brings tears to my eyes every time I hear them

  • her name is Helen ...

  • Rumor has it that Lisa Kelly's Sister is one of the Backup Singers, if so, does anyone know which one she is?? They say she is as Talented as Lisa.

  • @Heelingfool Oh yeah I do....she`s the one in the foreground at 4:02

  • LOVE THIS SONG

  • the brunette is hot.

  • Just saw them last night (St. Patrick's) at Radio City. This song never leaves a dry eye in the house. Irish, Scot, Brit, Asian, Black or any other wonderful nationality who came through during the 51 years of Ellis Island can relate to the power behind this song.

  • I love this song, I've always loved the girls, but their choreographer should be fired! What is with that fake Les Mis step towards the end?! There would have been more power if they had just stood on one place and blasted the place to bits with their awesome voices. I'm not liking all the extra movement in this concert. It looks cheesy. The album is wonderful though.

  • Just an AWESOME performance by these lovely Irish ladies, God Bless 'Em! :)

  • I really wish CW could do some older Irish or maybe - oh Goddess! - maybe some Welsh or Scottish? Why is it always Ireland that people equate as Celtic?

  • This song brings me to tears every time I hear it! It so amazing.

  • I have their CD "Songs from the Heart." It is phenomenal!!

  • I love this song. It made tears come down my eyes.

  • My Greatgrandparents were at illis island

  • Shame the setting is such that I can't post this on my facebook. There was much to share.

  • The voice of Angels......

  • This is one of my FAVORITE songs ever! I am of Irish decent and I think this song is beautiful! I wish I could find an instrumental track for this song so I could sing it. I just love those harmonies! I want to sing with them SOOOOO bad!

  • Wonderful uilleann pipe playing. So emotional this is.

  • "Lullaby" is only $9.00 + shipping on Amazon. :)

  • Interested in getting Celtic Womans "Lullaby" CD,it's available for a limited time from QVC. Go to the Celtic Woman website....celticwoman . com and click on the QVC link in the first paragraph...the cost is $13.56 USD plus shipping...

  • These women have a beautiful message for the world to hear!

  • I'm not crying, I just have something in my eye...

  • my favorite song by them <3 <3 <3

  • They are beautiful sirens and tha good kind

  • Lynn's top incisors are slightly uneven. Imperfections make people beautiful.

  • This is a beuatiful song. All the girls voices are pretty. I wish i had Chloe's voice. I kinda look like her. But lighter hair.

  • @Lovetosing2011 Lynn is sexy!

  • what is the instrument the guy is playing at the begining is it a bag pipe or some variation of a bagpipe??

  • @TheCelticwoman2010

    they're called uilleann pipes

  • @TheCelticwoman2010...Those are Ullean Pipes.....Ullean means "elbow". Instead of having a mouthpiece to "blow" the bag up, there is a bellows that the player pumps by arm motion, and the bellows is at the elbow of his right arm, hence the name....

  • @TheCelticwoman2010 Its an Uillean or Irish Bagpipe. Harder to play than the Great Highland (Scottish) Bagpipe, but a sweeter tone and can be played indoors without overwhelming people. The guy who teaches me can even sing while playing!

  • At 3:18 platform ..right side...who is that?????? OMG I love her.

And Lisa Kelly is hot too!

  • @Georgehall11....Are you talking about the choir member? If you are then you are certainly right..and it's funny you should mention Lisa Kelly, because the "girl" in question is her sister Helen Kelly....she joine us as part of the Aontas Choral Group before the 2006 "A New Journey" performance. There are some that would like to see her as one of the soloists.....

  • @gaeilge101 Thanks for the info. I did do a further search and yes, we are talking about the same woman.

A thought occurred to me; Are their parents in some sort of Irish museum or hall of fame? Did they win some sort of offspring medal of honor? One I can understand, but two of that caliber, is just not right.

    If I wasn`t a happily married man.............................

  • @Georgehall11....Hold on to your hat but there's other girls in the family too....Helen isn't Lisa's only sister.. and they are all "of that caliber" as you put it....

  • @Georgehall11....Well friend Helen is not Lisa's only sister and all of the Kelly "girls" are "of the that caliber" as you put it...

  • 3 people missed the like bottom!!!!!!!!

  • This is what I call a concert!!! most of the shows artists put on these days are nothing but a bunch of talentless hacks looking retarded on stage!!! This is what a concert is supposed to be like!!!

  • this is by far the best song that i have ever heard. i fell in love with it when i saw them in concert last february and love it more and more every time that i hear it. they have put their whole harts into this song.

  • See and hear our newest member Lisa Lambe...to go celticwomandotcom and click on "Celtic Woman at the Jose Carreras Gala in Leipzig, Germany"

  • Such beautiful music and ladies... It's so lovely to see *cultured* and *feminine* women in an industry full of some rather crass or shallow people - these songs really do come from their hearts and touch straight into ours!

  • @OriginalRoozah - I think that Alex was the one who hit that low note.

  • Does anyone know who hits the low note at 5:36 when they say behind? I THINK it's Lisa or Alex, but I can't tell...

And I hate to intrude on a conversation, but does hip and cup sizes matter when these women are singing from the heart? They have voices like angels, and genuine beauty, and real fans of theirs see them with their eyes and their hearts, not just their eyes. Peace, Love, and Celtic Woman. <3

  • @OriginalRoozah...It was Alex...she sang the lower parts in all the 3 and 4 part harmonies...

  • @gaeilge101 Thank you. :) It was driving me crazy.

  • Lynn Hilary is a goddess!

  • does anyone know what that instrument at the begining is called?

  • @bcb123rocker

they're called Uilleann pipes...gaelic for "elbow"

  • @dwkay do you just appreciate what's upstairs because you lack "downstairs"?

  • @alice5931

actually, i really appreciate it when my downstairs is between the upstairs :-)

  • This song is just so amazing... I feel really... connected wit history when I hear it.

  • fuck off dwkay5

  • @alice5931

    that's not nice alice. :-(

    and during the christmas season.

you do celebrate christmas don't you? you and your tiny boobs.

    happy holidays xoxoxoxo

  • do they tour up in oragean? like recently?

  • dwkay5 your a dick

  • @alice5931

actually it's spelled YOU"RE....the contraction for "you are"

although i might be a dick or perverted as "the Artsy Fartsy Tuber" says....

i am grammatically correct.....which is more than i can say for you.

PS...how are your bombs alice???? if they are any good, send them my way.

    Merry Christmas xoxoxoxo :-)

  • @dwkay5 dude, why can't you just take her beauty for what it is, you don't need to see her entire body for her to be beautiful

  • @acedenstrabe dude..she's very beautiful...but big girls like her owe it to all of us to show us more of their bombs.

c'mon chloe...show us that big tush too. what are you? her father?

  • @dwkay5

She is beautiful and owes NOTHING to you pervert

  • @TheArtsyTuber

Hey Artsy Fartsy Tubesteak...... You're right!!

    she's very beautiful........

any idea her cup size?? all info is welcome :-)

  • @dwkay5

    dumbass Troll....

  • @TheArtsyTuber

    Hey Fartsy

    To be clear, although Chloe is my favorite;

don't get me wrong. i wouldn't mind boinking any of the others either.

it's just that they lack a little "upstairs". nothing a push up bra couldn't fix. but in the end, i'm a top shelf guy :-)

  • @dwkay5

    Pig.

  • @TheArtsyTuber

    Pig??

    what? who? me? NAH!!

  • @dwkay5 i aint her dad, but atleast i can see real beauty when it sings in my face, you just look for the shallow sides of it.

  • @acedenstrabe

would i sound shallow if i said she has some great child bearing hips.

whats your guess on her cup size?? any thoughts??

    merry christmas

  • Mine too blackjack. I love this song. Too bad so many have forgotten WHY and for WHAT our grandparents came here.

  • @Cowboylifesaver amen. America is still one of the best countries in the world, despite her many flaws. She has brought hope and peace to so many people.

  • My grandparents came to this country via Ellis Island. Brings a bit more reality to me from this song. Thanks to these women to bring clarity through the fog of history. I have more apppreciation to what my relatives had to face on their "new journey".

  • i would LOVE to see them in concert. they are so incredibly talented. and this song is so beautiful.

  • 3 people are blind and deaf, cause they obviously can't hear or see the beauty these women put out. There's not a thing in the world that comes close to this, I hope they stay together forever.

  • This is definitely one of my favorites. I saw them perform and it was amazing. I think Chloe is so beautiful and I hope she stays with them for a long time.

  • Our newest member was just announced today, her name is Lisa Lambe, hailing from Dublin, is a renowned Irish actress and vocalist who has appeared in numerous title roles throughout Ireland, as well as Europe and the UK. From the age of three, she has shown a brilliant natural talent in both drama and singing, leading to a degree with distinction in performance from Trinity College Dublin, and making her one of the most sought after performers in the country.

  • You know, I love this band and all of the wonderful songs they sing, but I always feel a bit sad, because they (and their music) comes from such a rich and amazing culture and I dont share that heritage (its kinda selfish and stupid) But this song, though it is about people from places other than America, Made me love my heritage, because it symbolized what America was to the immigrants (and what America is to me) so well, a place of hope and dreams for the future, and where there is freedom~

  • Magnificent performance one and all !

  • I wish Chloe would smile at me like she dose that guy at the beginning. I would melt....

  • @wyldefan3 Me too!

  • @wyldefan3 The night before last I saw Celtic Woman in Albany, New York. Following Spanish Lady, while walking offstage, Chloë gave a wink. It wasn't the first time our eyes met. Still, the rush felt was a reminder of the original. It's powerful. Grateful I remained seated. That force would tumble this 6'3" frame. Would have found myself in the local police station. That could have lead to an ackward call home. "Hi, Mom. Chloë winked and then... That poor old man... He shouldn't have sat there!"

  • @WVPWimpVsPunk You like her, you like her, you really really like her!

Sorry, got transported back to third grade for a moment there.

  • @WVPWimpVsPunk

GOOD show my Friend. I love the group and their music. I've seen them live 4 times and #5 is coming in Dec. in Fl.

  • @WVPWimpVsPunk Awww. How sweet. ^_^

  • Some sad news to report....Lynn is leaving us effective immediately...If you want to see her message go to celticwoman . com and you can read it there....

  • @gaeilge101 I'M GONNA MISS HER SOOOOOOOO MUCH!!! WE ALL LOVE YOU, LYNN!!

  • What a beautiful rendition of a piece of American/Irish history given an incredible outing by these beautiful Irish girls. Thank you girls for the memory.

  • WRONG! I’ve seen these programs! Celtic Woman, Limited, actually puts these programs together and publishes them, and the same one is sold at each concert. Why else would they sell only ONE on their official store? First, the set-list is not in order; it is in alphabetical order, and in SFTH, some of the songs in the list weren’t in the tour! Second, they publish quotes, essays from the crew, bios, and pictures that venues could not possibly get their hands on!

  • @612Matthew....Geeeeez a 53 year old man argueing like a teenager....I will check out what you say. Since I have the inside track on this one...we'll see

  • @612Matthew...Ok you will on one count...Yes the "souvenir" programs are indeed put together by Celtic Woman LTD. This is done by a completely seperate part of the "company" and as far as I am concerned they are just as apt to put in unsubstanciated information as not... If you want to go by only "official" records then both of us are wrong....According to the Ellis Island records, Annie was NOT the first person through and she was 13 years old...Also there was another Annie Moore in 1892

  • @612Matthew....Also it's just a song, it wasn't written by anyone connected with Celtic Woman...the author is Brendan Graham and it's also been recorded by : Andy Cooney; Dolores Keane; Anthony Kearns and Ronan Tynan.

  • I think annie moore was 13 not 15 but I love this song and played it on my ipod as I visited ellis island in spring. It was really moving and truly amazing. So much history really hits you with a song like this.

  • @kmv1217...Ok to set it straight.....Annie Moore was 14 when she arrived at Ellis Island,on December 31, She was processed through on New Years Day, the day she turned 15.....She traveled with her 2 younger brothers, all three were reunited with their parents who were already living in New York City...

  • @gaeilge101 ok... geeze. The info I got was from ellis island's website and I said that I think she was 13 according to the site. I didnt say it was correct or fact. That is just the information I got. Im sorry if I offended you. I never meant for this to outrage anyone. It was just a simple comment.

  • @kmv1217...Hey no outrage here...I was just letting everyone know the truth...There is so much mis-information about Annie Moore floating around out there, that many people don't know what really happened to her....Sorry if I offended you....

  • Comment removed

  • @gaeilge101 I'm afraid I have more for you--Celtic Woman's Isle of Hope program said that she was actually 17, but told the people on the ship to America she was 15 so she could stay in the "family" section with her brothers. I think they said this info was only discovered four years ago. I'm not trying to cause widespread outrage or offend anyone, I'm just letting you know what Celtic Woman knows about the song.

  • @612Matthew....Don't know how you can say Celtic Woman knows this information since we don't have anything to do with the printing of the programs, they are printed by the venues and each is different....We only supply the lists of songs and the order they will be in to the venues...They then print the programs

  • I am honored to have attended a live performance. It was amazing!

  • I feel&miss ireland, however, i havent ever went there.. their music speaks to me.

  • Saw them last night. Their first Australian tour.

I saw them in Feb. 2008, when Lynn first joined, and that was not an on-key night for her. But last night, every one of them was perfect.

  • @SchwarzeWitwe2 Was there too!! Breathtaking. Spectacular. Highly emotional. All but perfect (I miss Hayley -:)

  • you can really tell that the ladies love this song. It shows in their performance. They absolutely love it and really communicate that to the audience. Incredible.

  • Also, I think that "The New Ground" is much better than his other composition "The Call". Very Tasteful.

  • I have noticed that Lynn doesn't ever sing solo. (maybe she has and I don't know about it) In any case I would love to hear her voice in solo...it's hard to pick out individual voices when they sing together and their voiced blend so well that you can't hear the individual voices. So, does anyone know where (and if) I can find a video or audio clip of Lynn Hillary?

  • @iluvperkushun try Carilina Rua or My Lagan Love

  • @TimberwolfsLilsis Awesome....thanks!

  • @iluvperkushun it's carolina Rua sorry for the misspelling btw that may be helpful
