I wouldn't consider it a flaw, or a feature, but more a result of size. Many of the functions of the miniwave don't require an oscillator, so in a modular context the Blacet design is fine with me. I'm happy to have both versions!
@Desmaad If you were to think of the Mini Wave as a turntable, and a record on the turntable as a wave from the Mini Wave's wavetable, then the VCO could be thought of as the drive motor of the turntable.

Would you consider the Blacet version's lack of an internal VCO a flaw or a feature?
