Red Steel 2- First Shinjiro Battle

Is it only me or is Shinjiro harder to beat the first time you fight him?

In the last fight he was pretty lame :/

Died in this one a lot, until I used The Shot to shoot his back.

Never go far from bosses to shoot in this game because you have low health if you have low health your best bet is to get up close and personal

This would've been way easier for you if you had purchased more upgrades for your stuff and had used the matador and the shot at the right moments.

I used the tiger to stun him then used shotgun. It only took a couple minutes.

i hope in red steel 3 the change somethings, dont get me wrong i loved this game, bainderclip2 is right with what he said the only enemy to me vary with moves you use is the ninja with the spear, i use i think its The Bear, the earth pound one to get him jump on his spear leaving him open for bullets

I can easily beat the Second Shinjiro on Ninja Mode without Tiger,

Not bad.. but I beat him with less health.. I had the full white bar, and some orange, that's it, but i'm not gonna be rude, he is hard, and you did pretty good. Heads up for you

i just spammed the matador. (makes it really intense though)

i never use the tiger i always try to dodge.

Also try using the rush twice in quick succession for easy damage. Don't try a third though, or he will respond with a flurry of blows.

Hm, good idea, I don't think to use the Rush as often as I should. It's a basic skill that is very useful too.

thats because there are like 14 special moves to use, and in the end the enemy almost always dies no matter which one you go with. so yeah...kinda takes away the need to vary things...

I love the Tiger and used this consistently, along with the Dragon. I also had all sword upgrades, armor upgrades, life Extensions to go along with it. Beat him on my first try, but was also in Easy mode.

believe it or not, but i thought this was harder and funner than the last boss!

Agreed! You have less skills and armor at this point, making this battle fun to play. The last battle is almost an exact copy of this one but by that time you have so many upgrades and skills that it doesn't even matter.

I beat him the first time i tried it on Medium without using the Tiger en alot faster dan you did.

Yep, you're right. The trick is to NOT use the Tiger. You can tell I figure this out half-way through on the time I actually beat him.

i could kill him on medium the first time using tiger

the second time on ninja i died 4 times until i got the trick

-> u have to shoot him, every time he "runs" to you u have to make the tiger and shoot him like 2 to 5 times doing this he died very fast:D

Well, the Tiger is great if you find yourself stuck or if you panic and don't want to chance a manual black. That being said, you can't use the Tiger and expect to win off the counter attacks. At least, that's how it worked out for me.

I was here just 10 minutes ago. I died the first time. The second time i beat him though! The first time I had very low life. Then I hided myself in back a statue...the second when I came out...HE SHOT ME!! That was not fair. :'(

I beat him the first time in Ninja using the matador after the tiger with my left hand...i was down to just one hit til i died.

I beat him before his very last attack before killing me too!

But that was my second try!

Yeah I was on like my 5th or 6th try at this point. The game suggests to use the Tiger counter but, the only way to really do damage against him is to manual block his power attacks.

@lavoscloud I did this on first try dude and only lost a few HP, you have to reap him all thetime with: A > LONG SWIPE, that combo is called the matador, u got that one?

Ya, NOW I can beat him taking almost no damage. (Damn that shockwave attack though, I swear I always dodge INTO a wall when he uses it). The Matador is boss. My problem was that the game kept suggesting that I use the Tiger, which is not the best way to go about this battle as he takes almost no damage after you counter attack.

how far along in the game is this (percentage wise?) because I just beat this part (after quite a few tries)

I think it's fair to say that this boss battle means you're approximately 50% to 60% done with the game. I did run through the last section of the game really quick though since I skipped a lot of side quests.
