You dream that it does. The truth is there was never even one particle of matter, including your "hand." See "after a short delay, quantum" on google. Contemplate delayed choice quantum erasure. Shizophrenics imagine all kinds of facts, and for them it is real enough so, carry on!
Venn diagram. Reality in one circle, imagination in another circle. The circles overlap. You can certainly have a conceptual experience (a prediction) that corresponds to reality. That happens all the time.
If I conduct an experiment in controlled conditions and have a machine drop a tennis ball millions of times and each time the tennis ball hits the ground. That is not reality?
It is just as real as looking at a mirage on the road on a controlled highway on a hot day, and looking a million times and seeing the realing puddle up ahead. Exactly as real as that.
But if you want conduct science experiments realize that science says the ball and the ground are made of photons which are bosons and the atoms are made of particles made of bosons and fermions which are just bosons with a half integer spin, and that spin variation is caused by superpositioned photons.
good point zen. It is less confusing to point out that there are two classes of halucination and that the dream within the dream sometimes overlaps and corresponds to the dream and sometimes does not.
A hallucinated character in a beauitful mind the movie, say the main character's roommate, could have talking about things really happening or things in the spy story delusion, or things about the little girl he imagined. But if the little girl he imagined also suffered from visions, and he imagined himself to be that little girl for a while and saw those visions, it would be a lie within a lie.
It is useful to realize that even if an entire world is built on a delusion, it too is a lie.
Even though we all have had dreams, many of us still resist the notion the illusions can be more than optical, that they can involve a body with all its senses and feelings and correspond to complex delusions lasting decades.
I have activity "in" my eyes all of the time. Sometimes, I will induce this weird visual state where I see shapes chaotically moving past my vision, and what I call "worms" shooting by. When I open my eyes, everything is translucent, vibrant and new-looking.
Very insightful, great job! I love the idea that all of this quantum observation is just another layer of the unbelievably complex amount of input data processing our minds are already doing - that's what my song "From the Corner of My Eye" is about.
Music ruined this for me

This is an important discovery that can help point the way to enlightenment.
Our mental experiences (thought, language, belief, myth, dream, opinion, logic, perception, etc.) are ALL subject to error.
That doesn't mean all thoughts and beliefs are wrong. Maybe they are, and maybe they aren't. It's irrelevant.
But once you realize the possibility that they could be wrong, then you won't take them so seriously or fall under their spell so readily.
= Freedom. Direct experience.

So you are saying then that when I let go of a tennis ball in my hand that it does not hit the ground?

When I close my eyes I like to think various colors and watch them appear in the blackness.
