Of course there is a difference between Spanish and Arabic culture! There is a historical link, but it's not one-on-one. I first started playing music in heavy metal bands. I always thought metal was only second to jazz in terms of technique not taught in schools (as classical.) And some years ago I discovered music of Spain, North Africa, Turkey, Arabic countries, the Romani, traditional Jewish music... this is what I aspire to now. I even bought an oud today. This is the kind of music I think humankind should be most proud of creating. Bravo.
