  • 5 nobs with a Waagh! banner, = 15 attacks, 10 hits, 5 rolls on the damage table vs dreadnought.

Ghazhkull = 4 more, let's say like 2 rolls, to be fair.

That means actually the orks tie, or at most lose by 1. Meaning, next turn, those marines are all going to be chunky salsa.

  • well rember nobs w/o power klaws and w/o big choppas cant hurt the dreadnought AR12 and even with big choppas they need 6s just to glance there were 11 Klaw attacks in the squad if 1/2 say 7 hit ony 1/2 will usually wound so average is 4 rolls still buts a -4 leadership on the nobs so thats a 5 an averge roll on 2d6 is 7 id still risk it

  • Pg. 73 to clarify that every glance or pen on the dreadnought counts, not just 1.

Also, if you're going to keep gimping the nob squad, no Waagh! banner (which with Ghazkgkull is daft), less p.klaws etc, then you're making this wipe out less SPECTACULAR.

Ld 5 is below average, but with a re-roll not nearly impossible. You passed it in your video ironically.

I understand what you're trying to show off, but there are so many variables in this entire thing that its really not that impressive.

  • its not ment to be impressive its ment to show what you can do by linking the combat its not ment to be anti ork its ment to show people what is possible when i first saw this i was like wow that can work an i never would have considered it previously an yeah its a risk but look at the pay off its not somthing you can count on but could win you a game in a pinch if it makes players aware of what can be done then this video has served its purpose hell with dice you never know what could happen :)

  • @DCrimsonFist Fair enough! As long as you're not advocating this as a staple game plan that will win you every game, we have no beef. ;)

One word of warning though, I can't imagine you will make a lot of friends using this kind of strategy on people. Clever, yes, but they might object to it from a sportsmans stand-point. =)

  • well its in the rules as far as sportsman ship there is nothing illegal about it its just somthing you know Like the en passant rule in chess where you can capture a pwan as it passes you when it dose its 2 space move and honestly as you have said its riskyeven in a tournament this will fly. heck moast players i know would turn it aginst me or make sure to avoid it its not underhanded it just knowing the rules an unles your a master Its almost impossible to set up. If it happens it happpens

  • It's completely underhanded. You are manipulating an almost impossible oversight in the rules. You have a perfect demonstration here, but the chance of the mathematics happening like that in a real game, with the movement distances, is slim to none.

You are not winning by strategy or better use of units, but but by exploiting a logical fallacy in the rules themselves. That being said, in your video, it wouldn't even have worked.

It's not "cheap", but it's not in the spirit of the game, IMO.

  • ok thats fair but its not underhanded and not a rules oversite. an this is a better use of units. but i will give you that this might not be what GW intended with the multiple assault rule but as the rules stand its fair an your opinion is as good as mine but no one at my local gaming club has called this underhanded or unsportsman like its just like chess if can set up you oppenet for an unlikely kill its not underhanded its just your skill. if you feel its a dirty so be it BUT ITS BY THE RULES

  • @DCrimsonFist Right, one more thing and then we'll let this die. No, you are not cheating. I never said that. Warhammer, though, is not chess. Unlike chess, there is chance and it is not a perfectly balanced game.

If nobody complains, great! I just personally think that what you are doing is playing by the letter of the rules rather than the spirit. If that's what you enjoy, it's your hobby, I just think there are games better suited for this kind of exploit.

    Cheers

  • ok i respect your opinion just so you know Ive never even used this trick it a so you know video an if its not in the spirit of the game to try and win then why play?? besides everyone here playing now just thinks your jellous that you dident think of it. For that fact neither did I i was shown by our local tournament junkey i just put it on you tube so people could see what can be done and out of 154 views your the only one to call it underhanded sorry but your a minority.

  • @DCrimsonFist Why make it personal? 154 views, half of which are probably you and I. I'm a minority in a negligible statistic.

I'm not jealous at all. I'm glad I didn't think of this. I'm also glad I don't wrap units together to give themselves cover saves in the open, a tactic fair by the rules, but completely lame by sportsman standards.

I use Vypers in my Eldar army. The point of this game, according to the rulebook, is to have fun, not to win.

    Seriously man, relax. We're cool.

  • sigh ok cool ive been known to love a good debate an you do it well i guess we need to get on the same page on what sportsman standards are.. Lets say it not proper Fluff as far as competion it is sportsman like but as far as warhammer mythos yeah i agree it wouldent fly an i agree its for fun how that for a comprimise an yeah your right should not have made it personal Im sorry I just couldent understand your use of "sportsman like" but point taken.

  • not that your definiton of sportsman was wrong mind you i believe i was misunderstanding whay you were implying

  • @GreyHunter I can see where you're coming from, but I do think that the game is more like chess than anything else. Yes, there is chance, but that's negligible when good planning and strategy are used. It's FUN to think up things like this that others wouldn't, and quite frankly, sometimes it's fun to have something used against you that you wouldn't have thought if. It keeps us thinking and constantly revising our strategies and how to play the game as a whole.

  • @Ender0010 I hear you, and I was never trying to say that strategy has no part in the game. If this trick were used on me, I wouldn't feel like I was outsmarted, I'd feel like someone found an unrealistic loophole in the rules that I didn't, and used that against me. To me it's a distinctly different feeling.

As soon as I get some time I'm going to post a video response as to exactly the kind of loophole tricks that I don't think ANYONE could appreciate as fun or fair.

  • But since the Nobs are now in the combat for ever glance and pen against the dread even the overkill ones that counts as a wound scored by the orks. Meaning a squad with a few powerklaws will get a lot of "wounds" scored too. Don't have the rulebook in front of me so correct me if I'm wrong but that sounds right.

  • Great tactic man! I really enjoyed the video, i cant wait for a situation to appear where i can try this out! Keep the vids comin! :D

  • runs really nicely, like this I yesterday killed 20 crons and 4 destroyers at once...after that 2 sternguards killed the nightbringert causing two wounds on him...doenst have anything to do with the topic but I found it worth mentioning :) keep on, your tacticvids are really good

  • veery good correcting yourself and well loving the vids bud

  • Thanks agin for your help in getting this done right. after this little botch Im even more famillar with the rules LOL i felt relly stupid to have been soo far off Im usually better at my presentation :)

  • Cool! I like this tactic!
