tessietots,i realise that romeo loved you so much, but much more than a normal pet, because my father once told mi that sometimes when animals know they are going to die, they leave home to protect the others from contaging and contamination and die far away from home
I cried when i saw it.They same thing kinda happened three times to my grandmas pets. The first was my cousins old cat. He started getting sick and we got the vet to late and we had to put him down. The other time was my old cat. She was getting blind a deaf and we had no choice but to put her down. And the last happened this year after my grandma passed. Her huskey was really old a realied on her and she couldn't live without her so we had to put her down. I miss them all. :'(
Aw Sweety, I can understand your feelings of loss, and Missing them. Its not easy. Over time it will become easier and you will be reminded of all the good memories. Our animals become part of the family and we grieve the same as we do humans. Your pets sound like they were so loved, they were lucky to have you and your grandma in their lives. Take Care honey... x
Im so sorry to hear that. Its very sad to watch your beloved pet suffer. Its such a dreadful disease... No words can express the loss I know, but take comfort in knowing you where there for your cat and did everything to make him/her comfortable. Its not easy. Take Care
Oh Im so sorry. I don't want you to cry. I made this video at a very low point in my life. I found it extremely difficult to accept his death and this was an output and tribute to his life. I feel very priviledged to have had him in my life. I still cant watch this video and understand about being sensitive, Im like that with all videos of animals that die. I cant watch. You must be a special person to relate to this kind of love. Thanks for stopping by.
it's ok. I know what it's like to lose someone very close to you! When I was 7 years old I found 2 stray kittens and gave them some food. The gray one ran away when he saw my dog but the tabby decided to fight because my huge dog (3 feet tall!) wanted the food. I was too late to stop it. I watched in terror as my dog ripped my cat's throat open and the blood gushed out. Afterwards I burried my cat and cried for a long time and my dog isn't allowed to come outside anymore without a leash!!!
Oh my goodness!! That must have been so horrible for you. I can't imagine how you must have felt. Its traumatic! Sometimes we can't understand nature and how it works. Life is cruel and only the strongest survive. I'm so sorry, you had to go through that.
I know, its human nature to feel that way and guilt can be very distructive. But remember you were very young:( Im sure you will have many more cats in your life.
This is a beautiful tribute. I'm so glad you had him in your life. It's crazy how some people don't understand the bond you can have with an animal...the love!!! I hope you do or will have another one. I thought I would never have another cat after losing one I had for 10 years, but now I have taken a few in who really needed me. I cannot imagine being without them now. :)
Hi:) Thank you for that. Yes I have taken in another kitty cat. I actually started feeding her about week before Romeo Died. She was a small feral cat that was dumped. I now have had her for a year and she is adapting very well to our family. I love both my girl cats and could not imagine life without them. However, - still today, just catching sight of this video and the pictures of Romeo, makes my heart hurt something dreadful. I loved him so.. Thanks for the comment. Take Care.
Beautiful video. My two cats have Felv. One has FIV too. Their on the new LTCI treatment by Imulan. Teddy is eating better and I hope the treatment keeps them for many years to come. I lost one cat to Kidney Failure last summer. He past away in his sleep. I still miss him.
Im so glad you are able to treat your cats. So many people just put their cats down when hearing of these illnesses. It does not have to be a life sentence, they can live a quality life. They just need to be cared for and kept away from illness. Basically let them become inside cats. My Romeo was very ill when I found him and treatment was not enough. However for two years he was happy, content and so loved. I was blessed having him in my life. Thanks for the comment. Good luck with your cats.
Thank you. Always remember, quality is more important then quanity. Your Romeo was beautiful and you captured his beauty so well. My Grandmom's cat had FIV and he was at least 18 years old when he died. My vet told me that 2 cats in a study went negative for the viruses. I can only hope my 2 kitties are just as lucky.
We must be very alike, perhaps you will look at my tribute to my Charlie who died on 7April this year. Is your song by Eva Cassidy? We miss them so much and try so hard to remember the good times.I suppose the memories of those final hours will eventually become less vivid, I hope so. Best wishes
Hi thanks so much for the comment. Yes this song is by Eva Cassidy. I just find it appropriate. Its a year on the 14th of this month and yet still, when I think of him, or drive past the beach (I cant go down there) or even just rewatch this vid my heart breaks for him. I suppose there will always be that "one". The vividness does become less, and happy thoughts will take its place. I force my mind away as much as possible. Im sorry for your loss:( Take Care
Sorry for your terrible loss mate...I unfortuantly had to put down my cat Brighty...it was back in January....but I still miss him.....I had to choose to put him down....and the hardess thing was him looking at me when I signed the consent form....I just cried in front of him....I hope he knew I did it for him and not for me....because I would have paid anything....just like you I'm sure!!!
Hi, thanks for your kind words. No matter how long ago you lose your pet, the missing and saddness never really goes away. A memory is always around a corner, but I think to myself, at least I have memories and had him in my life. He had a big impact on my life. I also believe they know instinctively, that you would do anything for them, and that you would protect them. Im sure Brighty was very lucky to have you in his life. Take Care ..
I have never been so affected by death. Ive been around cats and dogs that have had to be put down, and its bad enough, but for me, the not being able to stop the pain, was unbearable. I hope your pain eases soon.
Thank you so much:) Treasure and spoil them when they are around, you cannot give them to much love:) I think what makes this so painful was having to watch him die in my arms. It was the worst thing Ive ever been through. Watching the pain and light leave his eyes. It will live with me forever, but saying that, I try focus on all the happiness he gave me, and that was alot, A truely precious companion my Romeo was:)
I had to put my cat Opal to sleep two weeks ago when she developed liver failure. I was there when they did it; she nuzzled her head into my hand and just went away. Hardest thing I ever did. Romeo looks like he was quite the character; I'm so sorry for your loss.
Oh Im so sorry:( I know only to well how that hurts. Romeo had FLV and slowly deteriorated. He disappeared the night before, which he never did, People say the go away to die? I think he was just waiting for me to find him, because when I got him, he was dying and barely holding on.
Ah thank you. It amazes me about how many special people understand the loss of my Romeo. He was part of our family and my companion. My pillow is bare and my shadow gone. Its a big loss. Thanks again
I have some special kitties in my life and I know that I will miss them greatly when they cross the rainbow bridge. I can only hope that you will one day be reunited with your special companion and friend. Take care.
I have never cried so hard in my life. My male kitten I just rescued, Lucky, looks like Romeo. Lucky did not have 1 hair that wasn't covered in poop His 3 siblings have died, I did not take them. I suspect Lucky may have FLV but I am so scared of the results. But I know the test must be done.
Hi, Thanks for your comment and Im sorry you feel so sad. I know the fear you are facing. I rescued a little girl kitten just after Romeo died and she was feral. She is in perfect health.
If Lucky shows no signs of illness, he is more than likely ok. He is so beautiful and does look like my Romeo. Not a day goes by that my heart does not hurt with the loss of my boy. But you know what. I feel I was so lucky to have those 2 years with him. I would not have changed finding him and him being in my life. Please keep in touch and let me know the progress of Lucky. Love Tess
Oh yes, have all his vacinations and examinations done promptly. like I say he is young and immunity is growing. Romeo more than likely never had any vacinations before I found him. If he had, he would have had a better chance. Also he lived most of his life in a dumpster, here in Ireland. Wet and sick. A bad start to life. It is promising that Lucky was found when he was, Poor little soul, I feel so sad about his siblings. This world is so cruel!!
I'm sorry. I never meant to make you cry:( Only a lover of cats can understand the pain and loss. My heart is in pieces. Thanks for stopping by and visiting my channel. Take Care
Hi Chibudgielvr, Thanks for your comment. Yes Feline Leukemia is terrible. Its usually the strays we take in that get it. Its so important that they get all the shots from young. My Romeo died in my arms and its something that will live with me forever. If you keep Spooky inside, and protected from illness she should live along time, depending on her age. Im sorry, I hope she does well and has many more years with you. Take Care.
So sad :( Sorry for your loss. My cat Spooky had feline leukemia too. He was a stray we took in and lived for 4 years. Right now, we have a cat named Smokey with feline leukemia. She has her good days and her bad, as did Spooky. I wish there was a cure - it's such a horrible disease.
It's so sad, I 'm so sorry for your loss!
My cat Cooky dies June 2009, he has
the same illness! I miss him so much
and my other cats are looking for him
the first weeks!.
Thank you for sharing this video from
Romeo with us!
