Vedder a fucknut?????? An Idiot??????? Goodness gracious you people are really sad. I won't go any further as there is no debate with people like yourselves.
Yah Eddie! Mr yank the baby from the uterus! have a friggin abortion mill on every street corner! Your dems have done nothing! keep congress in order?? Hey Eddie do me and everyone else a big big favor, keep the music coming and keep your friggin stupid political views out of them! You have millions so you can go around and talk a bunch of bull!!!!! Us normal folk or "Little People" actually are having to go through this rigged, bogus, super depression that is coming!!! SO SHUT UP AND PLAY!!!!
Your and idiot.. Eddie personally oversees everyone's membership in the Ten club...are you an idiot blaming Eddie because you let your membership expire...get real dude..rules are rules. You can't afford to go to concerts if 30 bucks a year is too much for you to swing anyways.
Well more than half of these AP videos won't even play on my computer. They pause indifinately, with spinning balls, when clicked on. Rarely see anything similar elsewhere on this website.
What music isn't political? Even Britney Spears could be considered political considering her influence on so many young girls (for better or worse). No message comes from a stance of neutrality because people are doing something when they act, and that something might affect some people positively or negatively. It doesn't matter if you are explicitly saying it or not, everything you do has a political effect.
@PrideandGlory23 Its hard to even make the case in a youtube comment. I will let you think about it a little. But start with this: everyone has a goal, even those who seek no goal. So no one is neutral. Therefore actions will be motivated by moving towards a goal. So the actions might help you and at the same time hurt others, since there are limited resources and your goals might conflict with others. Your comment is not well-supported as it is - I would need to hear more for it to be of use.
this is the only video where Eddie look so strange... I think it was only a period, now he's nice! Anyway the most important thing is the music and PJ are the best!!!
Why do people give this a thumbs down? Its ok for Eddie Pecker to state his view but if Tradernorton wishes they would just play music you guys bash his beliefs? You guys are nearly a laugh.
If we didn't have artists recording stuff like "Bushleaguer" we as a whole just end up being even less heard. Maybe Eddie see's he's one of the few that has the ability to talk to the world and not have to be politically tied down, so he chooses to speak his beliefs for us who can't. Go back to the Storytellers performance when he answers the question about the fans who disagree w/ PJ's politics.. With integrity Eddie answered very simply "Fukum" ...I want that guy to talk on my behalf!
It doesn't matter how you look and what you say. So long as your intentions are good and for the betterment of this world then you are one hell of a being... just like Ed and Pearl Jam!
Keep on rockin' in the free world PJ! Wish you guys come back here in the Philippines!
Pearl Jam crossed over the invisible line with "Bushleaguer" several years ago. Personal attacks like that alienate half your fan base. Take the name out and its good social-political commentary. (like "Do the evolution"). Too much"activism" not enough good solid rock with s-p undertones. Just my opinion. And he does look ridiculous.
dude i totally see what you're saying its so true man. But i think it was with good intentions of course, a man of his stature in the music world felt he could give voice and get people engaged into certain things, and PJ is still a great band, but i don't think that fans felt alienated for very long. I certainly hope not.
i would say that you have to at least respect eddie vedder's genuineness and ability to maintain perspective despite what others may think or feel. i mean isn't that what used to define art and talent? you may disagree with his politics but the music and the emotion propelling it should at least be recognized and respected. there is a certain nobility associated with artists who use their influence to support or voice a cause; your disagreement does not make his messages any less valid.
LOL! No it's not. The music is not defined by the clothes or hair. Plus the man is well on his way to 50! He looks rediculous. Don't get me wrong...I absolutely love PJ...but the rest of the guys have managed to mature and actually look their age. EV just looks old and haggared.
"actually look their age" this says it all really why do you have to limit yourself in relation to appearance because your a certain age is there a natural progression you have to stick too, an underlining rule to portray yourself as mature with a clean shaven appearance... I respect that if it's your opinion but someone's "look" is their own individual choice "the music is not defined by the clothes or hair" well neither is a person lol
the new album is great. the music evolves. anyone hoping to hear another album like "ten" is dreaming because that style has shifted into another realm. who wants to listen to a band that cranks out the exact same album over and over again? as far as politics, pearl jam and eddie vedder have been involved and aware from the very beginning
@aridogg2 And that is why PJ has lost it. They lost the touch since Vitalogy. This is coming from a previous die hard fan, ten club member for 13 yrs starting in 93. "Who wants to listen to a band that cranks out the exact same album over and over again? I don't know? Pink Flyod, Led Zepplin, Kiss, Metallica. PJ lost it.
As for their politics, I am sick of hearing that hypocrite Vedder go on and on.
@jam4987u987 .everybody grows and changes in different ways...so the only thing they have lost is your personal taste in music....as for vedders politics, all he says is that we all should have a voice..and really everytime i hear him speak on politics that is basically what he says over and over..SPEAK UP AND BE HEARD, DONT TRUST YOUR GOVERNMENT, GET INVOLVED..and as far as i know he practices what he believes, so im not really sure your hypocrite comment is very accurate
@moonlightgarden12am I guess I should have been clearer on defining my hypocrite comment. I threw it as a a one liner in the end with no real explanation. Politically, I agree about all you said. My beef, with the hypocrite comment goes back a few decades for early PJ fans- especially East Coast Fans. See in the early 90's PJ was fighting ticket master (whole big ordeal, impossible to get tickets unless you were a fan club (TenClub) hence I was a member for 13yrs (front center 2 row seats alwa
@moonlightgarden12am I came on financial problems. This and that, and a monkey's uncle later, PJ TnClub quoted me a policy that after 30 days of not renewing my membership I lose all my senority for tickets. Over a policy 13yrs of fan club time and service lost. The anti-establishment band who I backed in there fight against ticket master quoted me a policy when I asked them for a little $10 help, a waiver, an extension. HYPOCRITES!!
TrdaerNorton04, haven't you ever realized that the only "celebrtities" who took heat for voicing their opinions were the ones who said something against the George Bush? Every time a musician or actor did so Bill O'Reilly ripped them apart, yet every time you turn his show on he's got either Dennis Miller or Ted Nugent on. I guess its ok for them to speak just because they have the same view point.
Um How about the small music shops across the USA, that could use the Press and the sales to keep thier doors open dumbass!! Thats why musicians do thier own distribution, so they can pick and chose who gets thier material. Oh and its not like Pearl Jam couldnt have spent some of thier already made cash to do more distribution!
"Target ended up allowing us to have other partners. We'll be able to take care of all levels of the Pearl Jam fan...We wish we could tell the whole story right now, but all the deals aren't done. Target was cool enough to realize that little independent record stores are not their competition." thats a quote from thier manager, they made sure it was sold in small music shops cause theyre awesome, ur move dumbass
