  • Can you build a hackintosh with radeon hd graphics? i plan on building a computer with the AMD a8-3870k with the msi radeon hd 5770 Hawk so i can run crossfire

  • @PurpleRaven224 This guide is not for building a hackintosh with AMD based cpu's. This is intel only guide. I don't know how to build a hackintosh using AMD cpu's. Thanks for watching!

  • it doesnt really matter wat dvd drive or hard drive i use right? cuz i m planning to build a hackintosh using old dvd and hardrive from my other computer.

  • @SMDpeps Just as long as they are both SATA then you are good.

  • Soo.. after installing and rebooting with the update + multibeast .. the mac screen loads , then goes BLACK. the cpu is still running, but it won't continue??.. PLEASE help. I'm using the DVI input by the way, and using the exact same parts you listed for this build.

  • @DanniePhantomTV What graphics card and motherboard do you have?

  • @MineCraftWills Yes it does. It works very well.

  • Can you use a mac pro case to put the hackintosh in?

  • @ThaFooooosa I've never done it but I have read on the internet of people making that happen.

  • cable management is not so nice. :P

  • @dev21012 I agree and I fixed that before sending it off to the client. I really just wanted to focus on configuring the software. I think my next video will be a complet build and configure guide for making a hackintosh. Thanks for watching!

  • @johnnythegeek1 Lol, Nice. :P

  • does the official nvidia driver in the description also works for the graphics card you put in the description ( the EVGA 210 512MB) ?

  • @MacBoyApple Yes and It should cover almost all NVIDIA Cards. I still have to try the update for Lion. That video will be done in a few weeks. Thanks for watching!

  • @johnnythegeek1 thanks for the reply! i'm planning to do the exact same build as you showed in this video (:

  • Hey it's my first time making a Hackintosh and I needed some help. i sent you a PM withe the parts I picked out and I'd greatly appreciate if you could check it out.

  • Hey Johnny your videos are so good, gave me the advice to go ahead and try a build and so on anyways question time!! :) I got this Mobo ' Gigabyte G41MT-S2P' i cant find any DSDT, i followed your guide got to the DSDT point and just stopped.

Anyways im a complete newb at this so thanks if you can help.

  • @Loonstadk If you are lucky enough, It may just work with the Easy Beast settings. Those settings are using whatever kexts (drivers) built into multibeast. The User Defined Multibeast is when you have the DSDT and you're telling it to install a custom set of kext files. I am also looking into another method called kakewalk. Looks to be somewhat popular around the internets. Stay tuned and thanks for watching!

  • I am planing to buy a wired aluminium apple keyboard. I run Mac OS X 10.6.8 Mobo: z68x-ud3p-b3. If i just plugged it in the usb port will be recognized ? :/

  • @xristos3490 Yes that will work. Whenever you want to buy something for your hackintosh, all you got to do is ask if the product is mac compatible. If the keyboard does not work on an actual mac from the mac store then it probably won't work on your hack.

  • @johnnythegeek1 ohh.. ok.. i think i like that :P

  • i hade a problem with my screen. After apple loading screen screen was getting "freaking BLACK" like no monitor is connected. I tried a RGB to DVI adaptor and works like a charm :) My main hardware is : Z68x-ud3p-b3 and ATI 5770HD !

  • @xristos3490 nice! Thanks for the tip!

  • Great TUT,Just built my system following your tut,i used all your parts, everything went together great . The only issue i have is with the video card i used a geforce 8400 gs 512mb by evga. sometimes when i first boot the computer it loads up to the apple logo and then hangs at a lite blue screen so i reboot and it goes to snow leopards desk top and works fine at 1024 x 768.I used the drivers you had here .Any help would be great Thanks Gom

  • @GomezBites Are there any other resolutions you can choose other than 1024x768? or is that the only one?

  • @johnnythegeek1 Hi thanks for the quick reply .I was able to change resolutions to all three but have to reboot to get them to work.

  • thanks for the advise! another question. can you use two video cards on a hackintosh build?

  • @ghadda1231 I have used 2 cards but not in crossfire or sli mode. It was only for the purpose of using 3 monitors separately. 2 desktop monitors was in one card and a TV was in another card. I had to do it this way because the 2 monitors and tv did not work in one card. I have also tried this with 2 identical cards and then again with 2 different cards. Fair warning, this was back on the socket 775 models I have not tried this with recent socket 1155-1156 models. Thanks for asking!

  • is nvidia video cards better for hackintosh build? is ATI's better? what's your opinion?

  • @ghadda1231 Both are great for hackintosh now that NVIDIA came out with Official Mac drivers that support Fermi cards. Then with ATI, mac osx started supporting them. So both are good, just be sure that the model you get is supported and compatible.

  • I'm a bit confused sorry if it is a stupid question but I'm new at this, whats the deal with 64bit machines and Snow Leopard ? snow leopard kernel is 64bit or 32bit?, I have a 64bit machine, should I upgrade to Lion ?,

  • @SDRalph Basically it comes down to the Kernal running in 64bit. Snow Leopard does have a 64bit Kernal (can only be used by 64bit cpu) but is defaulted to load OSX in 32bit Kernal. Most modern Snow Leopard (after 10.6.4) boots into 64bit mode. If you want to boot into 64bit mode hold down the 6 and 4 buttons during boot. So the answer would be NO, you do not need Lion to run in 64bit mode. Thanks for watching and asking.

  • Good tutorial, thanks a lot man !!!!

  • @SDRalph Thanks for watching!

  • Thanks Johnny, the longer the better.

  • @ThePhilip888 Thanks for watching!

  • Hi Johnny, your are making a great work here mate.

When i installed the 10.6.8 update (multibeast and etc was successful) i restart my system and (after the apple loader) my screen went to black! (just black!Screen is like system is "sleeping") I am using a RGB connector ,maybe is this a problem?

my Mobo is z68x-udep-b3 and a ATI 5770HD .Can you help me out here?

  • @xristos3490 What kind of screen do you have? What is the native resolution or screen size? You may have to use a DVI cable instead.

  • @johnnythegeek1 I have a syncMster 2243nw..has only RGB cable. I may use a RGB - DVI adaptor.. I post my results as soon as i find some free time to try it. Thanks :)

  • Hi Johnny,Thanks for teaching us how to install Hackintosh. You are the best.

  • @Htun69 thanks for watching!

  • Unibeast is out so need for Xmove method/

  • @collectionz Nice! Thanks for the info! It's a good thing I waited to make another video on Lion. lol. Procrastination FTW!

  • Sorry to bother you again, but I have another question. If I buy a mother board and has for example a F4 Bios and in Tonymac's site he has a F4 and F5 DSDT. Do I have to update my bios to F5 or I can just use the F4 that goes with my current BiOS. the thing is that I don't want to flash mi bios and risk it.

  • @jart122 You can use the DSDT for your F4 BIOS. They just make the DSDT for F5 for those who really want to update to F5 for some special features. For example, I think the F5 BIOS enables Intel SRT for SSD Caching. Not necessary if you are only running Mac OSX. It is only useful when running in Windows and even then it is too troublesome to have to switch from AHCI to RAID every time you want to switch OS.

  • @johnnythegeek1 Ok dude thanks. Did you have any problems installing lion with this motherboard? Should I buy a 6gbs sata hard drive or a 3gbs sata hard drive? I'm asking because I don't know if I can use the 6gbs ports in this motherboard. I believe this mother board has 2 6 gbs sata ports. Thanks.

  • @jart122 I have not had a chance to try Lion yet. I am behind on making my videos because of school and work. I would suggest getting the 6gbs hard drives because I am pretty sure they work on the Mac OSX but if for some reason they don't , you can still plug them into the 3gbs ports and they will work fine.

  • I've been looking for a tutorial for this motherboard since it's been a real pain in the ass to use. All the tutorials I've read, including tonymac's, have pretty much the exact opposite plugins checked in MultiBeast. That's probably why my Hackintosh is so fucked up -_-

  • Hi, i'm having the exact same motherboard as you, but when i boot the os x install dvd, i get a kernal panic (something like this: 'AllocMem: failed assertion 'addr')

    Can help me please?

  • i noticed hack builds always use a dedicated gpu

cant u just use the intel gpu ?

  • @CRAKIZGOOD I have read that the Chimera update allows the Intel 3000 Sandy Bridge GPU to be fully functional but I have not been able to get it to work. I'm not sure when and where to apply the file during the installation. But it is do-able.

  • @minituff yes a wireless mouse will work. Just think of it as "will this work with Mac?" You have to look for items that are mac compatible like a wireless card for firewire card etc....

  • i have a wireless mouse, will that work?

  • Ya johnny check out iATKos L1 disc it rocks clean install lion :)

  • @russelld44 I remember those discs. I will have to check it out then. Good to know they are keeping up with the times.

  • Finally.lol. Nice vid.

  • @jart122 I know. I've been sick and I just kept getting worse. You can really hear my voice getting worse when I get to the multibeast part. lol. Thanks for watching!

  • Lol I like that neat little setup for the Ipod to record videos mate. Nice invention you should sell it off and you can make it into something. Btw nice video and very long to lol.

  • @ItsBao93 It was two L-Brackets for Cameras I bought from Amazon. They were $10 each. The thing holding it was $7 and is for putting a smartphone onto a tripod. I think I will make a video about it this weekend. Thanks for watching!

  • How long did it take you to build this Hackintosh from start to finish? Including installing the software in this video? Also watched the entire video and liked. Keep it up.

  • @jdh100000 Building the machine was less than an hour and I took my sweet ass time building it. As a matter of fact I ustream'd it live on my ustream channel. The software setup was about an hour as well. So a total of two hours. If you are bored and want to watch the building process you can go to ustream dot tv/recorded/16997781 take out the spaces and put an actual period instead of the word dot. Thanks for watching!

  • @johnnythegeek1 so instead of that card could i use a 450 gts?

  • @2hhitshard Correct!

  • @johnnythegeek1 good lol i wanna be able to play the 4 games that i can on mac.

  • @SplashT3ch lol. Thanks for your support.

  • what is a hackintosh? and will you be doing some vids on bulldozer? :)

  • Comment removed

  • @yonathandavid11 A hackintosh is a PC running the Mac Operating System. It is a less expensive alternative than the Macs you would buy at the Apple store. I don't have the Bulldozer CPU just yet but I will talk about it and what I plan on getting and why.
