@1991cdj No, you don't need headphones. Headphones are used to hear the track so you can beatmatch it with the one currently playing. When you're in sync, it's automatically beatmatched. All you need to do is press play to get it perfectly on time. Not necessary. Sync turns headphones into more of a fashion statement than anything else.
@xSonsofNerox if you havent notice he has been djing for a while and im pretty sure he knows how to beatmatch and could do it easily, and is true what he says, the only thing it does is make the two tracks have the same bpm but thats it, you still have to match the beats, ppl use the sync now so they could have more time to be creative with fx or other stuff, so please before you start accusing ppl of cheating, know their dj background

@xSonsofNerox dude! i learned with vinyl and cdjs 5 years ago. Over time, ive had vestax pdx's, cdx, denon cdj's. Owned them and selled them. Now i got a proper mixer. the S1 is gone, and ill be getting back on vinyl because im missing that feel. I was in to this far before this "trend" showed up. People shouldnt hate on SYNC button, because now days all cdjs, pioneer recordbox and dvs shows you precise BPM and its very easy to match tracks anyway! But i know how u feel, i do the same!

Sup dude... Sick slip mode tricks lol. I have a question for u. My set up is currently two Numark TT-2 turntables and a numark mixer on Serato scratch live. I'm finally going to cross over to a full midi set up and I think the ddj-s1 is what I might go for, but I also have the numark ns6 in my sights. Have u ever used the ns6? If so how. Does it stack up against the ddj s1?

Which one of these controllers is best for virtual DJing. My cousin that does weddings does DJ emulation simulation mixing with a virtual DJ console, and he said I should get one with a stink button, because then I can go to the outside of the building and smoke cigs while doing the mix and never miss a beat.

Comin from the days when I was ordering all of my vinyl from the UK to Canada to being able to get all of my tracks from Beatport is fantastic. I love the new technology and what it has enabled us to do. Auto sync on the other hand is what I have a problem with and is a cheaters tool. Not professional in the least and a cop out. @DJJayStoneMusic dont know how to say it in english but are you able to plug the speakers right into the DDJ-s1 or do you need to put it through something else and then plug that in to the ddj-s1?
@nate123450 First off, S1 is for Serato but the T1 is for Traktor. If you're a traktor guy already, get the Kontrol s4. Also, if you buy an S4 now, they'll give you Traktor PRO for free. And if you're a turntablist too, you can hook your turntables up to the s4 and use it as a four channel mixer without needing an additional audio interface. They're both good but honestly Ean Golden designed the S4 and he knows his shit. Look at DJTechTools, they'll tell you everything honestly too.
You record by pressing the record button.. And you get voice overs by either pre-recording with other software or running a mic through the S1 and recording it. Then you play it back as a new track and add effects.. The background question was already answered, he used a green screen.. Do people not spend 2 seconds figuring these things out for themselves, or even reading answers to previous questions before posting simple-ass questions constantly??

it all depends if you want a two channel or a four channel midi
if you still want to plug in extra cdj or turntables or not
but both are great
and another difference is ddj s1 doesnt have a booth out and the numark ns6 does

@TeamHardstylerz i personally use serato on a crappy laptop (not even equipped with an "i" processor), but that of course would be extremely awesome if u have a nice macbook pro! probably would be very very stable n works without any problem

Which one of these controllers is best for virtual DJing. My cousin that does weddings does DJ emulation simulation mixing with a virtual DJ console, and he said I should get one with a stink button, because then I can go to the outside of the building and smoke cigs while doing the mix and never miss a beat.

Next time try it without auto sync. Fuckin bullshit auto sync lazy ass wanna be "DJ's". You are not a DJ, Mr. Auto Sync. Comin from the days when I was ordering all of my vinyl from the UK to Canada to being able to get all of my tracks from Beatport is fantastic. I love the new technology and what it has enabled us to do. Auto sync on the other hand is what I have a problem with and is a cheaters tool. Not professional in the least and a cop out. I can't stand people who use it either, lame....

@nate123450 First off, S1 is for Serato but the T1 is for Traktor. If you're a traktor guy already, get the Kontrol s4. Also, if you buy an S4 now, they'll give you Traktor PRO for free. And if you're a turntablist too, you can hook your turntables up to the s4 and use it as a four channel mixer without needing an additional audio interface. They're both good but honestly Ean Golden designed the S4 and he knows his shit. Look at DJTechTools, they'll tell you everything honestly too.

You record by pressing the record button.. And you get voice overs by either pre-recording with other software or running a mic through the S1 and recording it. Then you play it back as a new track and add effects.. The background question was already answered, he used a green screen.. Do people not spend 2 seconds figuring these things out for themselves, or even reading answers to previous questions before posting simple-ass questions constantly??

I use serato sl3 with a pair or cdj's but it just seems the art has been lost because it's as if anyone can pick up a controller or something hit "sync" and they are "DJ'S" I suppose the art is in the turntableism now.
