  • Are you a doctor or a sales person?

  • I've gone to the Barefoot Science website and it looks as though they don't exist anymore. I was unable to purchase the inserts.

  • if anyone cares for more info, u should type barefoot running either into google or youtube and get some more information on it. again, I AM NOT A DOCTOR.

  • a good treatment to actually STRENGTHEN the arch and raise it, WITHOUT PAYING A DIME (OR PENNY), is to run BAREFOOT. it takes some getting used to, and u should start off VERY slow, but it will make a world of difference. im not a doc or anythin, just an ordinary teenage runner, and runnin barefoot is subtly helpin me put the arch back in my feet. ( one foot is flat, while the other is not. either from colapse or just natural).

  • i have a problem where my foot is has an arch when i hold it up, but when i put my feet on the ground, they are flat. It hurts my feet, ankles, and knees. I looks a bit crooked when i put it on the ground. I went to a specialist and he gave me special shoes and insoles. They work okay, but my foot is getting worse. He told me that it will not fix and my arch will remain flat and will get worse. So my question is..Will these insoles REALLY correct the arch?

I went to a specialist and he he gave

  • hey i got a cracking sound whenver i bend my knee...but there is no pain...is it a concern???can i still jog and cycle??

  • Likely cause is fibrosis due to poor tracking of the patellofemoral joint. Over time, it will likely become symptomatic if not addressed. Craig's recommendation for Barefoot Science inserts is good, I've had some success with them in my practice as well. Current science supports proprioceptive exercises for the hip to address these kinds of tracking problems.

  • I Don't have flat feet but I do have feet Pain due to C-shaped feet, That's what my podiatrist say's. I can't find any confort with any shoes. My feet hurt No matter what I do. My Feet no longer have a natural angle like most shoes have. I have to buy felt blankets, cut out half, shape it the front part of my feet so it pushes both my feet up. I Now have to walk Flat foot in order to feel comfortable. The natural angle of the shoes over works my Quadriceps Femoris,

  • Barefoot Science dotcom

  • have you got any pics of before and after of real flat feet ? i need this !

  • wher can i get these inserts ?

  • uhhh, his website?

  • I'd suggest to use these insoles in conjunction with Nike Free shoes (as well as exercises like toe crunches, dorsiflexion, plantar flexion) to build stronger feet. Really helped me, and is great for runners / sprinters.

  • Did you grow an arch ?

  • Not a big arch, but my feet are certainly less flat, and my toes aren't as bad. I also did other exercises to help. I need to work on my feet b/c I'm a powerlifter, so they need to support big weight. Makes sense to strengthen your weak areas, rather than just splint or support them!

  • Could you please tell me where you got these inserts. I am new to this Craig Brokie site and can't figure out where to order these. Thank-you in advance.

  • Haven't used them in years... not sure anymore. Sorry. Have you googled it?

  • This may help with pronation and flat feet...What about people with high arches that supinate? For them, I say, custom made orthotics are the best,

  • I've used them during while rehabbing plantar fasciitis... it works, but I'd suggest doing exercises as well. Everyone wants the quick fix of orthotics, but doesn't want to strengthen the structures involved.

  • dr ivar e roth has an operation going where they stop your feet from flattening. check out on the wellness hour with randy alvarez. im going to get it done in december , cant wait

  • OK, this is totally idiotic. Not only does this 'theory' not subscribe to any known scientific fact , clearly this media mogul is completely in the dark about foot structure, form and function. Go ahead - spend your $100

And as an aside, I would like to see the evidence that 'csutom orthotics' weaken your foot. Get a grip, dude !

  • They actually do... private message me and I'll send you an article or two. As a trainer I've always encouraged foot & lower leg strengthening exercises vs rigid orthotics.

  • I'd like to see those articles too, please!

  • @gyro1nyc it does weaken your foot, thats what i heard at least ( from many peopel)

  • This certainly sounds plausible.

I might give it a try. Thanks, Craig.

  • The theory sounds plausible. I will give this a try. Thanks, Craig.
