+1 This is why I HATE it when someone "baby talks" to the kid. And/or start calling an object they incorrectly referred to the name they called it because "it's cute"
It won't be "cute" if your kid goes to high school thinking spaghetti is spelled "besghetti"
This is so important. A good vocabulary opens you up to a world of knowledge. When they're older, providing them the resources for them to find the answers to themselves is so important - have good dictionaries in the house, encourage them to read books and newspapers etc. Also, if they ask a question and you don't know the answer say "let's go look it up". The greatest gifts my parents ever gave me - the desire to seek out knowledge and the resources to do so.
