  • I don't waste my time going to these expos its just crap anyway "Dollar bill ya'll"

  • You know what..its not about hair. My mother and I just spoke about her black women don't unite with one another. It's sad really .. not All black but some have nasty attitudes.

  • Why are you apologizing to these ppl? You felt how you felt. I'm so sorry for ppls actions.

  • please this expo is about making money.!!!!!!!!!!!! all this products are the same shit that's been on the market since the 60's. black people taught to hate their appearance from slavery .

  • Comment removed

  • It doesn't take being exactly like you to empathize with what you experienced. I completely understand your hurt and disappointment. We are likely as different as it can get but I've felt those same emotions when I was shunned and excluded because of something out of my control.

  • Your hair is beautiful, and I'm sure your were being watched and whispered about, but I may not have been all negative comments. I find myself watching naturals with long flowing hair regardless of their skin color because it is beautiful. I would like to leave your channel with this....It doesn't matter what others think or say; as humans we all want to be embraced by our peers you are no different. Hang in there sweetie and tune all of this madness out!!! What you see and feel is real!!!

  • Maybe stop seeking acceptance and validation from ANYBODY and that goes for EVERYBODY! U cannot control how people treat you, but you can control how you allow it to affect you. If you love yourself at the end of the day no one can take that away from you. An this is not taking away from you hurt, just making an observation.

  • Who knows why those particular women where looking at or shunning her, but Taren916 is a light-skinned, silky-haired sista & she is adored & followed by many darker women with kinky hair, as are many others. The people she encountered do not represent Black females. Most of us have experienced some type of rejection or scorn from individuals within our own people at some point in life, but please remember that's "some" that act like that- not "all".

  • Why do people have to separate issues into light skinned versus dark skinned. I cannot relate to either side of the spectrum because I am not dark or light. And I don't understand why it even had to go there when there was no mention of it in the original video nikkidior posted. Why take it there. But I will say that I can relate to discrimination or ignorance, and other types of negative reactions and comments to my naturally curly/coily/kinky hair from both natural and relaxed black women.

  • There will be envy and ignorance everywhere you go. I have been natural for a year and I don't know if people are looking at me because they think it's beautiful or because they hate it. I am so confident in the fact that God doesn't make junk so I embrace the way he made me- Fearfully & Wonderfully! Hold that beautiful head of hair up high. It may not even be a hair thing it's a people thing some are just asses. Sometimes IGNORANCE MUST BE IGNORED.

  • Ive been through the same thing all of my life i wish we could talk cuz this isshh just makes me wanna cry

  • Hey girl, I've listened to your vids and i never knew there was so much seperation with the black community concerning skin color. WTF??!! Don't we already have enough to worry about other than that nonsense?? i don't even feel like you should make videos addressing the stupid comments and assumptions that people have made. This actually has me bewildered! I'm dark skinned with very loose curls. I get asked all the time "What are you?" I simply answer "Human" and keep it moving. Stay positive!!

  • ok? so if this was a video of a dark skinned girl talking about her problems with discrimination, would all these comments still be like "Grow a backbone!" and "Boo woo STOP WHINING".. No. I didnt think so. You Fucking Women need to learn that every fucking single one of us have problems. They may be different but they are still problems. And putting one down cause she isnt the same exact color as you is fucking discrimination at its best!

  • @JazzRockablity Yes huntey!!! This ish swings BOTH ways. If you are at either end of the spectrum you're gonna catch hell. Flat out. This is a damn shame.

  • Nikkii, u are correct, u can defend yourself, but on a lighter note, I want u to knw tht u r NOT alone regarding the texture hair issue, my hair also has a looser pattern in the back. I addressed in the 1st vid how my sister and I get into it abt this very topic, natural hair textured differences. UUUUggghhhh, this is so ridiculous to me, it is NOT a light skinned drk skinned issue either, it's ridiculous for ppl to act so ignorant, just my rant

  • But at the end of the day it had nothing to do with you hair or your skin tone, it was your lack of confidence, and the overall energy that you brought in the room,

  • @blkbarbied Bullshit. You weren't there and you don't even know her to say that. If this situation was in reverse and she was shunned for having super nappy hair, folks would be patting her up and telling her how beautiful she is. Discrimination is discrimination and it needs to STOP.

  • look we all know ur talking about the video by himay10nece an in a nut shell she was saying that the rejection you received at that expo is something we as darkskin kinky hair ladies have received since childhood. An we dont haft to know you, to know tht u weren't raise facing rejection because you were so hurt tht day to point that u left crying,an ur a grown ass woman. so because our skin is tougher we couldnt sympathize with you,

  • @blkbarbied i dnt need to know her to know tht she is too sensitive,an lacks confidence an ppl skills, an i dnt care if the situation was in reverse an she had hair like a sheeps ass if she would hv went in their positive with a smile an ready to mingle she could hv had a good time.

  • @blkbarbied How do you know she didn't?

  • girl don't let these woman upset you life goes on! these ppl wont make or brake you. I wouldn't spend my time or breath on this type. life is too short. have a blessed life Nikki

  • ...person and allow them to understand what your 'plight' is. We all think the grass is greener on the other side, but usually, what's on the other side is just some more grass that has to be watered and mowed and it's no better!

Realize that some folks just don't get it...help them, or just leave it alone. But for your own psyche, realize it and let it go. Don't hold their ignorance in your head or heart...and don't turn it against them.

Everyone needs to understand each other.

  • It's like the 'Black Lifestyle" movement that is going on in Japan (google it). They live in a homogenous society for the most part, but some are trying to differentiate. Reasons are irrelevant, but they want different...what they don't have naturally.

As a light complected woman, you will be envied. Own that. It's inevitable. Don't use it as a weapon, but take it for what is. Same for your hair. Some will wield that envy as a weapon. Be the better person and understand and work around that...

  • Nikki...it's not right, but it is reality. WE are not in a post-racial reality just because we have a Black president. WE are not a more cohesive group because we have 'united' over a hair movement. WE are not as much WE as we are trying to bond even in the face of things that separate us. As long as there are characteristics that separate us, we won't fully unite. And even then, we'd try to differentiate ourselves in the quest for "better" or different. It's human, unfortunate, but human.

  • IT SEEMS TO ME ....like this chick wants some type of sympathy.....BOTTOM LINE!...one of my biggest hair crushes is the actress TRACEE ELLIS ROSS...she is mixed race! beautiful! and NATURAL!!!!...and she is CONFIDENT!...she owns her NATURAL HAIR!!!...and i love her. SEEMS LIKE THIS CHICK ALREADY HAD NEGATIVITY IN HER HEART BEFORE SHE WENT IN!..she is not the only light skinned natural chick on earth!..DAM...WOMAN UP!!..nobody was staring at u..we have seen type 3 hair a zillion times.

  • The awful thing about boxes and categories is that we easily lose sight of a person's humanity. We are all human, but there are few of us brave enough to share our personal hardships. She was sharing with us, and we lost sight of her humanity and bravery for being so honest. I think we should take a good look at ourselves for taking her experiences to that separatist level. We shouldn't be divided over this. We should share, support, and celebrate her bravery and follow that honest example.

  • One more thing, @mamacitanatural, it's amazing how ppl will judge a store or business based "solely" on the service they've receive from an employee. The fact that the employee is temporary or a permanent employee doesn't matter. As a customer or client, all you're concerned with is the treatment you received at the time you were there. Funny how in this instance, Nikkii is wrong for doing the same thing. That's why I had a problem with you comment(s).

  • The first 53 seconds is basically the truth. People stay complaining and crying about YouTubers, but STILL watch the damn video! Turn the shit off if you hate it so much! Good lord...

  • @mamacitanatural It's crazy to say that someone didn't have the same struggles or any struggles at all. All types of prejudices are painful to anyone experiencing it. To think that it's o.k. to make someone pay for something they didn't create is hateful. Come to think of it what gave Oprah the upper hand? She had a natural when she started and she is brown skin. Hmmmm... You make you not your looks.

  • @Cherri2627 shut-up!! @jwill86hhs who told you to sit there nd watch it?? Now who gone check me??

  • Who can I call at YouTube to get the last 4 minutes of my life back?

  • This too Shall Pass!

  • They probably really liked your hair, but didn't know how to approach you. Some people are more approachable than others. I'm a 6'4" woman and I can't tell you how many times I have gotten whispers and stares. As I've gotten older I have learned to be more approachable. Most times people are fascinated with my height. Sometimes I do face ignorant people, no matter how approachable I am.

  • please stop crying. get "over it" as you say. i hate to see strong black (yes, i said black) women pout like that. its not attractive and it doesnt help the generation that is following you. you will be ok. what doesnt kill you, makes you stronger. So, keep it pushin.

  • Be thankful u living damn.

  • I have to agree with @dzire03. Sometimes there is an experience that sticks with us throughout life. It drives how we see ourselves and is often used to measure others or situations that "appear" similar. I am wondering if this is the case.

  • Did you ever think that you could have overreacted?

  • You're upset that ppl who don't know you are making assumptions about you, and yet you're making assumptions about ppl at an Expo that you don't know.

I'm sorry you feel this way, but you seem paranoid, and overly sensitive to me. I think you have a message replaying in your head, and you allow that same message to dictate how you perceive the way others treat you, even in new settings, where it isn't accurate. You need to tear up that old script b/c the only person it is hurting is you.

  • Comment removed

  • I agree with Amanda and I understand where you are coming from. I'm light skin with hazel/green eyes. I'm a new natural, but I have always been blessed with long hair. I get so tired of people asking me if I'm mixed. Both of my parents are black and why should it matter!

  • As I listen at 3:06 these emotions that are stated would make me think that there can be some paranoia or conceitedness. I don't know, but it's interesting. Your curl pattern is not uncommon, so I don't understand the upset about it either. Though, some people with kinkier hair may not be able to relate with your hair difficulties and can't comprehend how you can relate to their difficulties with hair given the different hair texture.

  • Just because you haven't had it "easy" does not mean that you know what dark skinned kinky hair women go through. However hard you have had it they have had it 5x harder, and that it just a fact. Regardless of what you say, I'm sure you would rather be yourself dealing with your "light-skinned" problems than to be one of them dealing with theirs. I also believe on some level you enjoy being seen as different!

  • @gucci51080 I'm with you she just complaining when she probably was one of the chicks making fun of dark complexed women. I really don't feel anything for her

  • Did I hear you say in this video series that you would NOT address your ethnicity? My question is WHY THE HECK NOT!?! You are what you are and your race does NOT make or break the person INSIDE. I pitty anybody who has a problem with that. Be proud of your heritage, no mater what that consists of!

  • This is a shame. Ive noticed that since the natural hair movement began, there is still discrimination against HAIR...its only hair. Its not just a kinky hair, or____skin type thing. If yo ass aint got no perm u natural! period point blank. Ugh....we as black women need to do better.

And that "u had it easy because ur light skinned" is a bunch of bullshit. I <3 you!

  • I am so sorry you had to go through this. I have faced some pretty ugly hating as well. Will leave an uncomfortable situation. this so call sister hood is NOT SO!FRIENDLY!Sorry that when you came back to youtube, (because i missed u :) ) that it had to be a vent. please do not let this or any one else view stop you from making videos.

  • I cant believe this is still an issue. I can TOTALLY relate to you. I dont have "good hair" but I am light skinned, and Ive been told how easy life would be for me, but what ppl dont consider is that you catch negativity from both sides bc your not black OR white enough! EVERYONE has a struggle, mine may not be yours, vice versa, but the severity of it doesnt disregard that fact. Hold your head up, keep it pushing and realize that some ppl will always be that way. ROCK ON!

  • I totally can empathize and sympathize with you. As a 17yr old raised in public schools all my life, I see this attitude towards what is "really" natural hair everyday. My hair is curly and just as equally natural as any other natural sista out there. Going natural is supposed to be about truly liberating and freeing yourself (at least to me), but I feel like ppl are trying to put restrictions and requirements on something fun and exciting. I am so sorry you were treated so rudely.

  • To me it dont even make sense to be natural if you're still gonna act nasty toward ppl.

  • Could it be that these women were silently admiring your hair and thats why you were being watched and whispered about? They could have been saying, "omg her hair is beautiful!" Definitely not minimizing or downplaying your experience. No one deserves to feel uncomfortable and I'm sorry that happened.

  • I left a comment on video number 1! Thank-you SO MUCH for talking about this. I believe it is just something that needs to be exposed. As long as you have HUMANS, irregardless of colors you are going to have biases, ignorance etc. I believe this will spark awareness, and definitely has gotten people talking. I hope this is also a help for those who do have this issue, as well as, those who project their negative attitudes about hair type, skin color etc onto others.

  • I'm a DARK SKINNED and I can relate!

Growing up...my hair was waste length with a cury texture.

Sadly I experienced the SAME discrimination (and I'm dark) so...it really has nothing to do with color (in my opinion) but rather the insecurites that have been brain washed into our culture. The reality (unfortunate truth) these issues NEVER be resolved within our community!

You're confident & strong...so you will move past this!

  • @SistaWithRealHair I agree! I've seen tons of dark skinned women with loose curl textures get shade, it's all about insecurities not skin tone imho.

  • @SistaWithRealHair Sooooooo true!

  • Typo.. Need

  • I saw that sad childish video that ignorant person made! How dare a person assume you had it easy because your light skin with a looser hair texture! How ignorant. People can't judge people base off of assumptions. I am light skin as well but have a 4a texture.... That doesn't mean I have it easier. Talk about some ignorant on YouTube. That video that person made was uncalled for and very hateful.... They got the backlash from it and now block the comments because there response was childish.

  • You sound paranoid to me........ Just saying......

  • The situation is messed up. Don't waste your good energy on negative ppl. Focus on the ones that send you nothing but love.

  • Start thinking about all naturals being a sisterhood. No matter the texture. If it's natural and you're embracing what was given to you, you're in the sisterhood. Loose curls or fluffy afros. Light skinned or midnight black! It does not matter. Ladies, lets take the first steps in the right direction. :)

    Much Love, Sister. :)

    Jen

*Dang, i been long winded today.. LoL!*

  • Until we change this in our minds, we will never unite as Sisters. Hell, even as black people in GENERAL! And I know other races have issues, but those are THEIR issues, this is about US. We can't be worrying about our neighbors front door being dirty when we got dead cats and snakes on our own. Clean up your own first. THEN we can worry about the others. That being said, we need to stop dividing ourselves and unite. And this is the perfect opportunity to do it, this natural hair deal. (cont.)

  • First off your hair is beautiful... Second of all... Those natural hair expos are just a forum to push product. There is no sisterhood or none of that crap going on in most platforms like that. And honestly women are gonna hate on each other. We have a really bad habit of that, and that spans the races actually. Plus being human beings we always want what we don't have and the grass is always greener on the other side in our minds. (cont..)

  • @BlackAngelPlayahYes they are. I went to one on Nov. 5th too and wondering if it was the same one Nikki went too lol. It was in Texas. But yes they where there to push produces and their hair salons. I probably won't go to anymore.

  • My daughter was told she wasn't black by her class mate because she is light skinned and long loose natural hair.so I understand where u are coming from

  • Stop blocking the blessings!

  • I've listened to you and all I hear is boo who, STOP..... Stand your ground. You never walk out, you belong there the next one that comes around take your hind potts there and enjoy yourself no one can push you out the door but YOU. STOP and woman up ......do you and close your ears to the negative teenagers.

  • @StarSpell5

No one pushed me out, but I will remove myself from an uncomfortable situation. It was a waste of time to stay in an environment like that.

  • My mother is dark skin and her hair is like yours she has receive hate for it or remarks. There is a open wound in the hearts of some black women and until that wound is heal completely we will have this problem. So, Ladies start healing now because all we have is each other. If you Hate Light you Hate Dark, If you Hate Dark you Hate Light. Think about and STOP JUST STOP!

  • And lastly I understand there are haters of all kinds. But it would be great if people understood God made us all uniquely different and we are the same. Things like this can only make you better. Stay srong and stay blessed. Peace.

  • I agree....

  • I just wanted to say I'm shocked by your experience. I went to a hair event of curly nikkis and there were naturals there of all hair types and all complexions. That's weird to me. Not minimizing how you feel and what you went through. Your hair looks like so many other naturals. Maybe it was just that person who was insecure vs everyone in the I guess 4 category.

  • I feel bad that happened to you, to bad as a race of people, we can't embrace each other considering we come in all different color, shapes and sizes. When I see you I see you as a woman with beautiful natural hair...

  • ok, I just watched all three of your videos because of a response vid that I saw and I don't see what was soooo bad about what you said. I heard truth and more importantly YOUR truth about YOUR experience. I really dont see what the problem is. Some folks just have way tooo much free time on their hands!! SMH LOL. I am convinced that no matter what is said some people will hear what they want to hear. Talk about mountains out of mole hills! Take care.

  • honestly, i dont even think whether or not she "struggled" with her hair is even relevant... i can honestly say that i havent really "struggled" with my hair, but i doubt anyone would be side eying me if i rolled up to a natural hair expo. even if she was lily whit w/ pin straight hair, ppl shouldnt be treating her the way she says they did. i bet the same ppl would be mad if they were treated like that at an all white event.

THIS is why i say the natural hair "community" is full of shit.

  • I really empathize with your experience, and I apologize for the negative responses here and in the response videos. I think that a lot of the negative comments stem from historical trauma in our community and has very little to do with you personally! Unfortunately, many women of color are hurt, angry, and jaded by our history AND the continued under/negative representation in media and the world of woman of African descent. We as a community seriously need to do better! TYU

  • I think that this is a perfect example of people living in their own skins and having their own experiences in this life. On each side of the coin sista's have many interesting and complex feelings about what we look like and how we are treated by our society/community. I don't think you should make a blanket statement about the entire natural hair community because of this incident. We all have our own insecurities that make us vulnerable to what other "seem" to think about us.

  • No explanation needed, THIS video needed to happen because he needs to be put out there what are happening with some ladies within the natural hair community!

  • Ma there will always be haters no matter how u look...I wonder though, because u seem soft and proper, did they feel you were putting on airs...I've been there myself because I lived in a white neighborhood, even my dads side called us white or brats

  • Whoever messing with you fuck them and I wish they ass come at me like that on some dumb shit. I guarantee I'll put they ass in the right place. I know you can fight your own battles but some of these bitches I've been waited to tell their ass off. I PRAY one of them dumb bitches come for me.

  • It may or may not have been a skin issue but your hair is the epitome of what most black girls who are natural in the media. So it's hate I got GRILLED by another sister in a restaurant because my hair was big and curly( good twistout day) She look like she wanted to slap me. And I was gonna tell the chick I liked her Afro puff. Geez!

  • Maybe it wasn't you hair your your skin the women were paying attention to.... maybe you had somethin on you face, pants lol it could of been anything...right?? im jus sayin

  • @MsAfroBeauty is wasn't her skin. It was her hair texture. I had the same experience. Straight hair or loose curl sisters get NO play at these natural hair events.

  • @TheSagaciousGirl hummmm ahhh ok! welll somebody in that group make a natural hair event so women can stop looking at her weird... or other Straight hair and loose curl women

  • wow. point blank..they were rude.you should've been embraced like everyone else. they probably took a deep breath when you left, jealous heffas :) love you NDC

  • Its not about skin color because I'm dark skinned & growing up people always assumed I was mixed because I had long natural hair down to the middle of my back

  • Some people have issues with attractive people and they label you before even trying to get to know you. I've been there but I don't get upset, it's interesting. People try and project there insecurities onto you. Hold our held up high and don't dim your light so that others can shine.

  • I'm glad that you came out with a second part video. xoxo

  • Sorry Sis, but I couldn't possibly disagree more w/ comment that certain characteristics that u have: being light skin, having "good hair" & some may say even being what is considered attractive DOES give you a leg up in our society & makes things much easier compared to the experiences of others that don't have those quality. Oprah's Lifeclassjust touched on the issue of beauty giving woman & upper hand & a fellow Utuber SumKindaWunderful (who is mixed & light skinned) did also

  • @MamacitaNatural Yeah, but there are disadvantages in other ways. And what she is describing is one. Attitude for no reason.

  • @anikadiamond007 I am sorry but tis life. Ppl (women in particular for some reason) give each other attitude. Its a sad fact. I take issue with it being b/c of her hair. I'm still trying to figure out how she came to that particular conclusion. Ppl hate on each other for many reasons (having a bad day, jealousy, picking up on a vibe frm the person...whatever) so how can she come on here & start a bunch of drama (light vs dark, kinky vs loose curls) when who knows why the grl gave her attitude

  • @MamacitaNatural Are you serious? Really? Light skin and good hair gives you no more opportunity than the next black person. Now if you speaking of ppl who can "pass" for other races, then I'd agree with you to an extent. I didn't understand growing up why my classmates would say to me "it's because you're light skinned." That tells me that we are going by what someone else has taught us. Do you have any idea what it feels like to be an outcast within your own race?

  • @zheahra This was ONE encounter w/ ONE woman at ONE natural hair show which has morphed into a "community" discriminating against her b/c of her enviable "good" hair. If she felt she was being discriminated against or mistreated she should have confronted the lady . Maybe the lady felt that Nikki had an attitude or didn't like her vibe or was pissed b/c she'd broke a nail. We'll nvr know b/c instead of standing up for herself & confronting the person she came on here to over generalize & accuse

  • Respond to this video... and to answer your question, yes. I grew up the darkest girl in my family so I have a unique perspective on the issue. You don't have to be the blackest black to be considered dark and looked down upon. This color issue applies to many ethnic groups including Asians, Hispanics, etc. One time I was having a converstation about it w/ a friend who is black & has a really dark complexion. I was telling her about my experiences being a dark person & she blew up at me b/c.....

  • @zheahra ..she felt I wasn't dark & couldn't possibly relate to what she had gone through...I'm not the darkest person in the world but some ppl see me as being fair while others see me as being dark so I've experienced both sides of the issue & I'm willing to be honest about it. I'm not saying its all roses for light skin women but they do have an advantage. Soledad Obrien just spoke at my university & mentioned that women w/ her looks were often hired to be on air personalities b/c white...

  • @zheahra ppl in charge of hiring were more comfortable hiring a minority w/ more European lookse and less negroid features. Anyway, I've expressed my point. We can agree to disagree in this matter

  • @MamacitaNatural I'm not arguing with you. We are all hurt or hurting for the same/different reasons. But, you can't go around assuming someone has it better or worse than you. All of us judge each other. I'm a tall and big woman. A lot of ppl don't care for "fat" ppl. I know "ppl" in charge of hiring are more comfortable with hiring regular size ppl. So, see, there are many things ppl can use against you. I know this much. As long as I'm breathing, Imma keep on living.

  • @MamacitaNatural It is what it is.

  • I understand completely what ou are saying...I lived it all my life...very sad. keep the videos coming:)

  • I've been waiting for pt 3 and its not avail on mobile =(

  • What you went through at the Expo.....I've gone through at the hairdresser LOL!!

  • Are people attacking YOU? Wow, I'm sorry. I'm sorry this is going on. Are you OK with my comments. I definitely don't mean ANYTHING negative. I love your videos and I think you are beautiful and I just want you to know what I perceive but of course I could be wrong because I don't know you. You are beautiful and I love your videos and your transparency. Thank you.

  • first ! im sooo glad your making videos again, second ! you are so right about the discrmination - just ignorance ! anyways, im gladddd you're back ! keep the videos coming !

  • i am watching in wonder. I feel bad that all these things are happening, but what can i say, human nature at its worst?? shoot, can't win. hugs x

  • "emancipate yourself from mental slavery..." i so get where your coming from

  • You tell em, Nikki!!!

I could see the emotion in your eyes, when you made the first vid.

THIS is about YOUR experience in YOUR life on YOUR channel and you are sharing.

people are soo ignorant, immature and hateful...block whoever it is.

can you share what event it was???

  • how big was this expo?seems like it was organized by a small village or not even,by a couple of neighbours n relatives all sharing the same narrow state of mind...

  • @djsugah

    That's exactly what it was....

  • What is wrong with brainwashed people??? Hair is hair and why is it a big deal about someone's skin tone this is so ridiculous why do black people allow this to happen amongst themselves.Don't we think it's time to stop all of this.....

  • @margo33

Stopping the madness would be too much like right ! :)

  • I'm dark brown, my hair is coily mid back length. I get funny looks and commennts in the natural hair community as well. It's something you learn to navigate through not something you gain insecurity from. Going natural is going against the grain in every aspect of social norms. So you have to expect the worst and embrace everyone's opinion.

  • from your last video I totally understood what you were trying to say...I don't know why it had to come to this from people

  • So this is completely off topic, but can I say that I love that when I clicked on your pg "Show Me Love" was the video playing! Love it! I was jammin :-)

  • @SouthernAndSexy89

    ROck out chica! LOL!

  • this is very true!!!! jen youtuber did a vid bout this same expierence and she is the opposite dark skinned sistah. well when she went t the expo she didnt feel like doing anything to her hair, so she threw on a wig and of she went. well to make a long story short she was stared at, ignored and she had to ASK or samples and stuf. when she would walk by a booth no one said a thing to her. and she ws NATURAL sistah wit a wig on SMH!!!! OUR PPL!!!

  • @myzleelee

WOW! The same reaction I got today!

  • @myzleelee oh my godd. Crazy

  • @myzleelee sorry to jus pop into this but i kinda see why ppl wud look at somebody wearing a wig to a "natural hair" expo sideways.. no offense but a wig in my opinion is still very unnatural.. i dont personally see how it cud compare

  • @ramoiselle yea and its also a prime example of dont judge a book by its cover. and although a wig may be unnatural that sistah went to the "EXPO" to get sum answers/knowledge. im nOT a judgmental person but if im at a "NATURAL" hair expo and i see a sistah with a wig a snare or side eye wud be that last reaction because my common sense wud tell me there is something going on under there! WE AS A PPL HAV GOT TO DO BETTA THAN THIS!!

  • @myzleelee to me its a bit of a double standard to shout "embrace your natural hair" from the top of your lungs one day n then the next day throw on a wig cause u dont feel fit to go in public.. so whats the point of all this?? im not really judging i just dont get it.. but to get back on track what i wud say is that every single person who pays to go to an expo shud be treated alike and handed out samples etc whether big fro, balled or straight hair, cause u dont know there story....

  • @ramoiselleso does that mean that only fit people can go to health & fitness expo’s? lol

"every single person who pays to go to an expo shud be treated alike and handed out samples etc whether big fro, balled or straight hair, cause u dont know there story...."

    THEN YOU SAY

"didnt mean to knock down this jen or anyone who chooses to wear wigs, but in my very personal opinion they still have a long way ahead of them"

What you said was so contradicting

  • @Dismamisupadupaphly tht part was not refering to physicaly going to the expo but about claiming to be a "natural" when u still wear false hair or hair tht formerly was someonelses natural hair.. ya get me :)

  • @myzleelee pt 2 ^^: theres white girls out there with extremly curly hair who r seeking advice, wud they be ignored? theres women with straight hair who might be seeking help on how to manage their mixed kids hair and so on and so forth.. didnt mean to knock down this jen or anyone who chooses to wear wigs, but in my very personal opinion they still have a long way ahead of them.

  • @myzleelee Are you talking about me??? I promise that this was my experience at the natural hair expo here last year. I was VERY disappointed. It was like I was being looked over because of the straight hair wig. Like I wasn't welcome to be there.

  • @TheSagaciousGirl HEY JEN OF COURSE IM TALKN BOUT YOU GIRL! *HUGS* LOL U NOE IM UP ON ALLL MY JEN 411 AHAHAHAHA.... much luv sis!!!!

  • @myzleelee Girl yessssssssssss see this is what I meant in response to her first video. Man I wear WIG AFRO's and I get shade shit I met Whoop Goldberg once and she gave me props on my hair and I told her I wore wigs. She really embraced it I get so much hate is so freaking disgusting. Even people who want loc extensions they get hate from the loc militants so freaking disgusting

  • oh goodness..ppl must've been acting a fool because of your video..wow.

  • It's amazing how some people can watch a video and not actually WATCH it or listen to what the person is saying. I was truly surprised by some of the comments. But not surprised by your experience. About to send you a message.

  • @TheCurlyFitChic

They blew my rant video out of proportion and turned it into something it wasn't even meant to be, but I will allow people to show their true colors. So sad.

  • @NikkiiDior

I for one am glad you are continuing to allow them to show their true colors and true ignorance for everyone to see...

  • I agree 100% and you shouldn't have to address the ignorant people! She probably has self esteem issues anyway....

  • u should e-mail your video to the people in charge of the expo

  • i'm sorry...i hear what you're saying and i completely understand but you're so dang gorgeous i can't focus...lol your eyes are so pretty! that is all :)

  • @kbgaston
