@asdfero The guitar didn't go out of tune, the G&L Dual Fulcrum system on these guitars are excellent. The bar can pull the strings down AND up, unlike Fender tremolos.
those are not single coil, they are magnetic field design pickups, and give u a more low end sound not found on regular single coil pickups, the model that actually have single coil pickups is the legacy... nice review
@memoglz Those ARE single coil, as there's just one coil per pickup. MFD double coil pickups, mostly called humbucker do exist too, as e.g. in the F-100.
A great demo and oh what a talent you have. Hope you don't work for a living. I was hoping to get into some lead work like this but after seeing your fretwork I might just stick to a ukelele! Awesome job.
Why is it that guitar makers have the audacity to replicate original designs of an instrument that is in its infancy? I could understand Steinway struggling to come up with yet more refinements, but really the world does not need yet another strat...we've all got one already...
@sgsg1212 Correct: but it is not run by him now. All the people who run these companies now have an antithetical mindset to those whom brought the instrument into its basic, useable form. They do not innovate, they maintain stagnation.
I have this guitar for a few years now, and I absolutely love it.
If you want a very good and trusty stratocaster for a medium budget, you should really try this one out.
It's tone is so soulful and warm. The guitar is a bit more versatile than a regular strat due to its extra pickup configurations and the improved tone controls.
The floating bridge is also a huge improvement over a vintage 6 screw bridge. It just won't go out of tune.
in position 4 with the guitar in the Normal setting isnt that the neck and middle pu's?
then you said with the push pull switch out 2 &4 gave you the neck and middle pick ups.
guess im a little foggy on what exactly is going on pick up wise while the switch is off. I under stand what it does with it on and hear the differences.
as far as price?
I've seen them listed for $649 American dollars. Cheaper than a "nice" strat.
@AerialGround Yeh everyone in the office was pretty impressed! Great guitar for the price! Doesn't mean its right for everyone - try before you buy as they say - we tried - and we'd buy! We gave it a rating of 4.5 out of 5 in our Magazine review! Dont forget to check out the rest of the mag and let us know your thoughts! Thanks.
@TheRecluse26 you said, "GG" and automatically the "Goofy Goober" solo came to my head :P (yes I know it Guthrie, incredible guitarist, Tom is fucking great too)

Did somebody noticed that the tuning went to hell after he used that tremolo?

It also looks stunning.

Slight mistake, with the tone pot pulled up in positions 2 and 4 you get all 3 pickups active ; )
