there's alot of confusion about custom tracks, in GH2 u can make ur own charts, only with no sound. So what u do is u load the chart and start the music at the same time...get it?

FAILURE! In GH 1, 2, and 80's, you can add charts (assuming you know the file format GHero uses) AND music (as long as you format it so that GHero knows what audio tracks to use as the "guitar track" and the "background track")

Guitar Hero custom tracks would have never become popular if you couldn't actually put the audio into the game. Then it would have been useless.

I'm not sure whether this person did it the same way, but here's a technique I saw demonstrated once:

First, take a song with an identical tempo from start to finish. Second, create the chords to match. Third, prepare a CD track, and figure out the exact moment you need to press "play" in order to keep it timed exactly to the music in the game. Fourth, play the game with the volume turned off.

This works; dunno if there are any easier methods for GH2.
