@tecciztucatl The thing is, God's holiness requires payment for sin, but he has offered to give us a life in which we don't have to pay. It's like being offered a credit to pay off a debt that doubles everyday, but then refusing to take and trying to work it off at minimum wage it can't be done. In the end you owe more than when the credit was offered.

Receive forgiveness or not, it's your choice. When Christians ask (as they do) "If you don't have a moral code to follow, what stops an atheist from killing?", we can turn the same question on them. Knowing you can be forgiven for absolutely anything, what stops a Christian? If I control my own conscience, and there is nobody -real or imaginary- to clear it for me, I have a more powerful deterrent than they. @deltaxcd That presumes that the only reason a person would contribute anything to society is because they are *scared* of God's displeasure, or are desirous of a reward. If a person doesn't believe that being a good citizen, treating your fellow humans with decency and respect is not reward enough in itself, then I would say they have something missing in their psyche. I think that most religious people behave decently for the same reasons as atheists, but ascribe it to their faith.

Your video if not true is very powerful because it plays on our need for justice. I happen to think that your miss representing the bible some what. I could also give several scholarly reasons why that girl might have gone to heaven, all though character limit is to short for that. Most of what you think of as hell was contrived by the early church. There are for instance passages that say God will reconcile all to him. Also the word for eternity in the bible does not always mean eternity.

We learned to respect their religion and see what it was like for them. It was a cool experience but they also told us about what it means to convert to Judaism. Knowing you can be forgiven for absolutely anything, what stops a Christian? If I control my own conscience, and there is nobody -real or imaginary- to clear it for me, I have a more powerful deterrent than they. most of christians do not care about anything more than themselves they see god just as some kind of reward for some kind of behavior.
If no reward after death exists then optimal solution is to work exactly as much as you consume being alive. and behave in a way that gives you most pleasure, what means atheists have no reasons to contribute to society.

@deltaxcd That presumes that the only reason a person would contribute anything to society is because they are *scared* of God's displeasure, or are desirous of a reward. If a person doesn't believe that being a good citizen, treating your fellow humans with decency and respect is not reward enough in itself, then I would say they have something missing in their psyche. I think that most religious people behave decently for the same reasons as atheists, but ascribe it to their faith.

Problem with these things is not fact of belief in god, but belief if bad god, so you should desire to change religions into something better instead trying to destroy it. Christianity is quite democratic and accepts changes as long as its members like them.

assume that I killed 2 people, and so i get maximum punishment, then i am free to kill as much as I want from that point.
salvation does not depend on your actions it depends on who you are at that point of life. it does not take into account your past actions.
I like that idea, and I prefer human courts work in same way to avoid problems mentioned before.

Your video if not true is very powerful because it plays on our need for justice. I happen to think that your miss representing the bible some what. I could also give several scholarly reasons why that girl might have gone to heaven, all though character limit is to short for that. Most of what you think of as hell was contrived by the early church. There are for instance passages that say God will reconcile all to him. Also the word for eternity in the bible does not always mean eternity.

What I can do is ask about consciousnesses since you referenced it. How do we get it? Why did we get it? Scientist do not understand where it comes from.
