@ivegotalongdong Yeah it would be. I used to have this game on VHS cassette tape. I still may have it but I would love to see it with the announcers on youtube. This was a great basketball game.
We could use a recruiting coach like Bob Huggins or Tim Floyd who aren't afraid to go after athletes. I miss the days of scoring points off the press and out rebounding opponents. I don't care what color the coach is, as long as he could bring in some urban talent and a true post player who can defend!
@pookers2000 I would love to see Bruce Pearl leave Tennessee for the Iowa job. He was a former Iowa assistant. But I am sure they will give this former "coach of the year" a couple more years. zzzzzzz
Y2 Bruce has some unfortunate history dating back to a recruiting battle when he was a Tom Davis assistant back in the late 80's. Even so, I would take him back in a New York Minute
Agreed. This was an amazing basketball game all the way through. Despite the seat of your pants ending with Marble shooting free throws instead of Horton. I will never forget this game. The pace of this game is amazing and the lead changes were constant. Ray Thompson made such an impact for that team that was desperately needed. The Big 3 had dream seasons that year. Tom Davis changed that look of his press in the closing minutes to get a great turnover for points.
Too bad Iowa could never put together a CONSISTANT winner and could be mentioned in the same breath as Kansas, Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, etc. Now they have this middle school coach (Todd Lickalotadick) who will NEVER take Iowa to the 'promised land'.
why the FUCK would you put music over action sports? WTF

Problem was Tom Davis. He was a brilliant coach, but he was just a terrible recruiter. Not dynamic at all.

This was actually UNC's first ever home loss (maybe non conference at the Smith Center)
Iowa got away with substituting Roy Marble to the line instead of Ed Horton who was actually the one fouled and he hit one of 2 to win by 1.
One of my favorite Iowa Hawkeyes memories outside of the Elite 8 run in 87.
Iowa hasn't been able to recruit really since George Raveling left. Most of these players in 88 were Raveling's recruits.
They need a black coach who can recruit.
