  • I have a Tom Jones greatest hits CD called The Complete Tom Jones, but that is a very bad title because this song does not appear in it. And I know this was a hit as I remember often hearing it on radio around early 1977.

  • Ah brings back memories of the Spring of 1977.

  • As a young child my parents loved eating at the fish camp. It was nestled on a hill close to a running river; my older siblings and I often threw rocks into the clear stream until it was time to eat. My mother loved Tom Jones (She saw him in concert once, bought some panties (a smaller size, of course) and threw them to Mr. Jones). At the fish camp, my mother trusted one of us with coins and to press the correct button on the jukebox. Decades later, I can hear the coins slide into the jukebox...

  • oh I really like it, when I`ve heard this one coz it`s one of my frens favourite

  • I was surprised when I heard that Tom Jones had a #1 hit on the country charts. I didn't think he was country, but after hearing this one, I think it makes for a really good country song. I wish I could find it on iTunes!

  • @bigbenkentucky

In late 1976 and early1977, when this song first came out, it got A LOT of airplay on WMC- AM, one of the leading country stations in Memphis.

  • Tom could cover ANY song and make it better.

  • I would have to agree with you on that .

  • Great Slim Whitman song, and this version is fantastic. It's says a lot for Tom Jones that he recognised the quality in this C/W song and did it justice.

"Say You'll Stay Until Tomorrow" is a 1976 single by Tom Jones. The song was Jones's first and highest-charting country music hit. Spending ten weeks within the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot Country Singles (now Hot Country Songs) chart, "Say You'll Stay Until Tomorrow" went to number one for one week on February 26, 1977
