At the LA con they said the crew did a moustache growing contest in tribute to Kim Manners, but they couldnt participate because of filming the show. Maybe this is their tribute to Kim now that they are finished filming season 4. Jensen also made the joke that Jared couldn't grow a moustache, so they may be doing this as a competition between the two of them as to who can grow the best facial hair. Silly, silly, boys. LOVE THEM!! ^_^

I read (or watched) somewhere that they boys are just growing it out since they are finally on holiday and dont have to shave the very next day. Jensen might've mentioned that his GF likes his beard so he's happy to keep it.

Personally I think its a nice chance and they both look ruggedly handsome :)
