The "thing" the flint strikes to make sparks is called the frizzen. Nice gun! I have a navy model.

I have also a Kentucky flintlock pistol....but it is made by Ardesa-Spain in caliber .45

It looks very similar to your Kentucky pistol.

I never shoot mine because I have no idea how much grains and what kind of black powder I can use to shoot this gun.

I bought it for 15 Euros on a flea market. It looks like it´s brand new. I´m sure that the seller had no idea that this is a real black powder gun. I guess he was thinking it is a non firing prop or something.

@JahiriAtto Well this is a Replica but they did have sights at this time, this pistol itself is rifled which many of them back then were not but most of them have very primitive sights.

@vitaley420 Actually you're right, I was recently listening to Radio host Alex Jones and he was talking about that people are no longer arrested for even the nastiest threats, but they used to because unlike free speech, which I am VERY strongly in favor of, threats to people's lives including saying "3 dislikes-3 bullets", used to be illegal, because it was considered a threat.

in your letter you said the ball goes first. this can not be true. wouldnt the gunpowder goes first then the ball. if otherwise what propells the ball?

@jassoe no the ball went first since you would have to hold it up right and powder could spill and also when raming a ball down a gun barrel you wouldnt want powder since under pressure it could go off by mistake

@AcrossSkies maybe i have the guns mixed up then the model i know you have a place to add the powder on the side that closes then you put the cloth and ball in and pull hammer back and shoot though i guess it would work either way

i love the flintlock pistols i just wish they had better accuracy and distance an were multi shot or instead of a muzzleloader a Breechloader make it easier 2 reload

Very Nice pistol, but I highly doubt back then they used sights, it was ungentlemanlike to aim at an officer. still, nice pistol.

Maybe you should of made a separate video about how to load the pistol instead of putting it in the middle of this one...and stick to reviewing it.

If people are looking for a review of a pistol they probably know how to load it.
