do you know where i can get parts for this ive looking at gun shops i dont really want to order them online hopefully i can somewhere in my area(indiana) a gun shop that has them
I have also a Kentucky flintlock pistol....but it is made by Ardesa-Spain in caliber .45
It looks very similar to your Kentucky pistol.
I never shoot mine because I have no idea how much grains and what kind of black powder I can use to shoot this gun.
I bought it for 15 Euros on a flea market. It looks like it´s brand new. I´m sure that the seller had no idea that this is a real black powder gun. I guess he was thinking it is a non firing prop or something.
I bought a Kentucky Flintlock Pistol today in my local flea-market. Its bigger than the one you have and i believe this makes it rarer as its more unusual. I got it for £22 / $35 / 24euros. How much do you think i can sell it for?
@JahiriAtto Well this is a Replica but they did have sights at this time, this pistol itself is rifled which many of them back then were not but most of them have very primitive sights.
@vitaley420 Actually you're right, I was recently listening to Radio host Alex Jones and he was talking about that people are no longer arrested for even the nastiest threats, but they used to because unlike free speech, which I am VERY strongly in favor of, threats to people's lives including saying "3 dislikes-3 bullets", used to be illegal, because it was considered a threat.
in your letter you said the ball goes first. this can not be true. wouldnt the gunpowder goes first then the ball. if otherwise what propells the ball?
@jassoe no the ball went first since you would have to hold it up right and powder could spill and also when raming a ball down a gun barrel you wouldnt want powder since under pressure it could go off by mistake
@AcrossSkies maybe i have the guns mixed up then the model i know you have a place to add the powder on the side that closes then you put the cloth and ball in and pull hammer back and shoot though i guess it would work either way
@AcrossSkies it will be interesting either it will blow up or not fire at all since the spark from when u fire might not reach the powder if its in the wrong place am i right? =P
i love the flintlock pistols i just wish they had better accuracy and distance an were multi shot or instead of a muzzleloader a Breechloader make it easier 2 reload
Thanks, Glad you enjoyed it. I will eventually making a video of the loading and firing with live ammo sooner or later, its been raining a whole lot lately where I live and you probably know how well flintlocks and water go together. Thanks
Once again, many idiots posting comments on subjects they obviously know nothing about. Please stick to watching cartoons or playing video games.

You shouldn't hunt with a pistol -.- it doesn't give the bullet enough energy to kill an animal instantly....

Lately I have been having some trouble getting a hold of flints to use with this. As soon as I acquire some I will make a shooting video! :-)

@AcrossSkies I'd use ferroceum.

Is this a replica or genuine pistol? I thought pistols of that era didn't have sights.

I don't believe the "floppy" trigger is something not out of the ordinary. I just inherited a similar FL, with a floppy trigger

@vitaley420 You know that can get you arrested for threatening people.

libertyeagle777 1 year ago
@vitaley420 I mean, think about it. 3 people dislike this video, so you want 3 bullets, gee, I wonder what their intended use could be.
libertyeagle777 1 year ago
@libertyeagle777 it don't matter because i will never know who are responsible for the dislikes. U trip to much.
vitaley420 1 year ago
@vitaley420 Maybe so, but... wait a minute, did you say because you don't know who's responsible?
What if you did?
libertyeagle777 1 year ago
@libertyeagle777 i could explain this to you but its easier to call you stupid, STUPID.
vitaley420 1 year ago
@vitaley420 Hey, Never freaking mind, you say whatever you want to.
But you don't have to call people stupid, that tends to end conversations, and make the one calling the other stupid look very immature.

@rocksock00444 If the ball goes in first then how do you get the powder down the barrel after you put the ball in to propel that ball?

@rocksock00444 Hahaha that was the most clever comment i've ever seen <3'
How, in the name of god, would you fire off the bullet without having powder behind it?
And how to you think the priming powder would ignite the main charge if you have a bullet rcovering the damn hole from the inside?

@AcrossSkies Why wouldn't you get a revolver? A flint-lock is kind of dated for the War Between the States.

I have not yet had to take the barrel off si Ill let you know when I do but I am just as lost as you are. Sorry I couldnt help on that =/
AcrossSkies 2 years ago
Great job A.S. Was wondering-how do you remove the barrel from this pistol to clean it?I have the same pistol only it percussion.
DrewZ2ube 2 years ago
Very Nice pistol, but I highly doubt back then they used sights, it was ungentlemanlike to aim at an officer. still, nice pistol.

Good job!
few pointers,
Maybe you should of made a separate video about how to load the pistol instead of putting it in the middle of this one...and stick to reviewing it.
If people are looking for a review of a pistol they probably know how to load it.
