Is a higher resolution model in the works? I like the idea, but I noticed that even if this monitor is "wide" it cannot support 1080p because it is only 900px tall. In fact, this has barely more pixels than an HD screen.
CRVD: 2,592,000px (2880*900)
HD: 2,073,600px (1920*1080)
2*HD: 4,147,200px (2*1920*1080)
Radius320: 5,760,000px (4800*1200) not curvy (Seamless Displays)
Warpalizer: 3,240,000px (3000x1080) Projector based (Univisual)
What really sucks about this is that for all of the marketing that Ostendo puts into this, they don't actually provide a link to buy it on their website. Pretty useless.
@Mdschannel are they really lines? or is it more the case that the two outer screens are at a different britness due to the fact that the image on an LCD changes from different viewing angles? :(
@MGazT Yeah, but only visible outside the "sweet spot". I would expect more from a monitor that costs 6500 bucks. I hear its because of the projections, but anyway its better too look at than if you have actual screens with actual bezels i suppose.
@So1othurn - actually we have used Track IR but not the latest version (if 5 is the latest one) and it was awesome. We have used with a helicopter simulator and it made for a great experience.
@catalinux007leiro - well, you will have to wait at least another 4-5 years before a curved OLED comes out IN THIS SIZE. Initial and main focus of OLED is mobile devices vs. displays as there are billions more mobile devices than monitors and TVs combined.
@Shrimp4074 - wished it was $2K, I think we would be selling a boat loads of them but the fact remains that we don't sell a ton of them, hence it is difficult for us to lower our costs at this time. BUt we are looking at ways to reduce the cost over time. Thanks!
problem with this monitor compared to an eyefinity setup, is that the HUD elements on games will be at the far right and far left, whereas eyefinity puts them in front of you, on the left and right of the center monitors, where they should be
clearly anyone who is able to have this experience at home is very wealthy indeed. because not only is getting crysis running at a resolution that high quite a hefty pocket dive
that monitor is also $6,500 so yeah if your spending that much dough on recreation more power to ya
if it was taller oh yeah i would like one and if the price was little more on the real side of life

There are lines showing seperate projections if your not in the sweetspot, that really ruins a 6500 monitor...
Mdschannel 7 months ago 2
@Mdschannel - if you are in the ideal viewing spot (center of the screen), the blend lines are nearly invisible, especially with video gaming!

For $2000, I would buy one. $6000 is too much though.

cool but for $6500, I will just use 3 monitors and deal with the bezals
xCmOn3yx2 1 year ago
@xCmOn3yx2 - true that $6500 is a lot of monitor for a monitor, but this is a niche, specialty monitor.
