love the coin trick, but he twists his hand, then covers the coin and pulls...any pro knows watch him the five seconds after the applause...coin never left his right hand, he puts it back into his pocket...I believe though still ;)
To @Pariah77. I assume that 77 is your IQ or else, little one, when you were born. So tell us all, what astounding thing have YOU done, which so many admire? Actually, it doesn't matter, because your arrogant, juvenile attitude rules you out.
And as for sucking dicks and hugging balls, don't worry, maybe one day someone will find yours for you. Oh yeah, learn French, and watch the film. Until then, we don't care what you think,x
@Pariah77 And me. What's with all the nuthuggers? Can you metaphorically suck his dick any more? I mean I have people I respect, but I don't idolize them. And the funny thing is all these people saying he's so "inspirational" don't do anything. What's he inspired you to do? Use people and fuck them over? Be an attention whore? Le petit man indeed. I honestly can't understand how this movie is in the top 10. It's just a long History channel episode but with more over dramatization. I laughed.
@skateposeur12 Nerves of steel? Yes. Heart of gold? Meh. Don't get me wrong. The movie was awesome and he is inspiring blah blah blah. However, towards the very end, he was seeming to me more and more like an anti-hero. Which made the story that much more interesting.
For all you fans of Philippe, see yet another side of this amazing man, live and down to earth on stage in NYC for the first time! Tell your friends, bring your friends. Look for the event on facebook!
June 16, 17 & 18th—"WIRELESS! Philippe Petit Down to Earth"
i just watched this movie and i am having trouble believing what i just saw. I didnt know it took so much planning and such determination to walk a tight rope. HE made it look so easy. And he was kickass goodlooking when he was young.
This guy is beyond insanity. Man, he is so cool. I mean who would do that unless the honestly was off their rocker?! How he pretty much told gravity to shove it is beyond me. Wow just wow.
@zaydzapper How dare you hijack this great man's video with your conspiracy theory bullshit. The movie isn't about the towers; it's about an extraordinary performer who brightened up the world with his display of conquering the impossible. You have no business pushing your pitiful agenda on an unrelated video like this. Unlike you, Phillipe actually did something with his life. Go fuck yourself.
@P0mt3 "How dare you hijack this great man's video with your conspiracy theory bullshit."
Funny that, no comments here are read by anybody until AFTER they've watched the film.
Tell me - how come Philippe and his friends were able to get into the tower SCORES of times, with fake ID, get onto the roof, with all that gear, etc. if security was adequate?
No black man could EVER do what Philippe Petit did...
Who gives a fuck? This video isn't about 9/11. And no shit the comments are read by people who have watched the film. This video is about the film itself.
The towers were in the process of being built, so the center wasn't fully functional yet. - Less security.
America was a lot less paranoid about terrorism around that time as well. - Less suspicious of I.D.
Black men have always been pre-judged in a negative light. What does that have to do with it?
God forbid, and I mean God forbid, but wouldn't it be ironic if Philpee died one day by slipping on the side walk and cracking his head. Or you found out that he sleeps with the lights on because he's scared of the dark. Something really ironic that's the polar opposite of what he did. Great film. God Bless him.
for the first time ever, the academy was honored by "awarding" an "actor".
he put his life on the line, not for awards, but because he loved those towers. what a man ! im inspired to live life honestly, with simplicity and determination ! wow !
@Jess101115 why does everyone love him so much? he was a single minded, selfish, egomaniacal backstabber who lives on through his past accomplishments like an old man reminisces about his high school sports days. no only did this man use his friends to get what he wanted, he also cheated on his loyal girlfriend and discarded his friends like nobodies once he accomplished his "feat". Alain Robert is much more accomplished daredevil. And the movie was boring, could have been told in 30 minutes.
@variously2 you only sought out the negative's when you watched this film. it was his dream and THEY CHOSE to go along for the ride.I loved this film. Not just because it was exhilirating, poignant and beautifully done, but also because i was there on august 7th,1974 when he accomplished this spectacular feat. and also, being a native new yorker, brought back a flood of wonderful and heartfelt memories for me.
PLUS! ONE LOOK AT HIM shows that he's not 100% French. He was raised in France, but he looks like Prince Harry. He's a ginger! He obviously has Celtic blood, so he's a dream-chasing mutt like the rest of us.
No, I was responding to people who hated him merely because he is French. It probably showed up on the wrong reply. No matter. I've taken quite a beating about it already.
I was commenting on everyone who was French-bashing. I'm of British descent, by way of Normandy. You yourself can shut the fuck up. I was actually trying to make a mockery of the French bashing argument. It doesn't really MAKE a difference ... we're all the same... but if they MUST make a comparison, he looks very Celtic to me. And I'm also Scots-Irish and Scandivanian and we all fucking mixed together. WHO CARES?
Why didn't he join the U.S. Army and go fight in Afganistan to defeat the terrorist and Obama?
It's because he is a french douchebag coward, that is why. any fool can choose the easy route and walk on a tight ass wire. I have his dvd by the way...so I tried to see a more fair and balanced perspective...but instead saw nothing of interest.
Leave it to some idiot to bring up 9-11 which has NOTHING to do with this docudrama Man on Wire. Stop making Americans sound as stupid as everyone thinks we are.
