First of all, what a ball bust I just went through signing on here! Youtube that is major bullshit you put me through, thanks! Now for my post! I love Spirit. I always play tunes from their greatest hits at parties. All the older ( 40+ I'm 56 myself ) people trip on it and sometimes ask who the band is. Right on to all the members of Spirit. I'm sorry that Randy Wolf is gone. God bless him!
There couldn't have been a better moniker for the group than SPIRIT. There's something about their style and sound that isn't quite evident at first but you know it's present, ya dig? Perhaps it fully reveals itself to you on the second or third listen to one of their albums.
Truly one of the greatest drummers in rock. I saw the original Spirit in 1969 and had the pleasure to meet Cass on several occasions. A great and wise man. Glad to see he is alive and well. An inspiration!
Ed unplugged his PC last year, when he turned 84....decided he wanted to put a treadmill in that spot, to be able exercise at any time. Ya gotta LOVE the guy. He messed up his right leg about a year ago, but he's bounced back: I spoke with him recently, and he'd just set up his drums, and tested his kick chops. No problemo!! Look for HIPPIEFEST 2009 as the return of Spirit to the public consciousness, along with a push to have "Nature's Way" named the anthem of the Earth movement.
Sweet! I have to wondering how Ed has been doing for the past few years. It's excellent to see he is doing well and still great wise loving man. THANKS FOR SHARING!
Wow great interview. Ed has always been a fave and an influence . Never got to see the original Spirit but did catch Randy and Ed in the mid 70's when Spirit had reformed on Mercury records.

To johnsonkatt: Please let us fans know if Ed decides to get a My Space or a Facebook profile! I've searched for him on both to no avail.
