I went on a trip from Chicago to "Sea world" with my best friend and her family. I was 15. We have to drive all the way the way there in his new mercedes benz. It was late, and everyone was asleep in the car, besides me and my friend's father. He was falling asleep. He ask me to take turns driving with him. I got to drive us the rest of the way in a brand new mercedes benz. !! He never even let my friend, his own daughter drive the car. I got to drive it before her.
i would have to say when i finally got to see my girlfriend again after a few years of not being able to see her, she came into the state, but was about 2 hours above where i was. so i drove up to see her. :D
When I was living in London, my girlfriend and I fun roadtrip taking in St.Jacob's, some factory outlets near the 401, and the CNE in Toronto. Found an original target logo A & W mug in an antique store in downtown TO, and it was cheap! Pretty happy about that.
Driving to Pittsburgh was fun the one summer. We were on the way to a family reunion and my cousin decided to car model (stretch on the top of the car) because we were sitting so long. He looked pretty ridiculous!!
Road trip fun - well, fun and not fun at the same time. When my daughter was younger we used to bring a potable potty with us on road trips. She discovered she enjoyed sitting in the middle of a field, on the potty, watching the butterflies. So she made us stop every 20 minutes or so, but she didn't necessarily go, know what I mean?
My two friends and I went on a whirlwind trip from Omaha, Nebraska to the Black Hills in South Dakota. One was just 18 years old, the next was in her mid-30's and I was in my mid-60's. You wouldn't think we would have such a great time but it is one of my best memories of a car trip. We squeezed so much into the time we had and now I want to go back again.
Driving from NH to Tacoma Washington. We went through and even stopped in some of the many states that we went through. It was so much fun going to the special places that we did and meeting all kinds of different people.
I'd have to say bumper cars it was the most fun I've had since being in a real car makes me bored so easily and haven't done any road trips that is fun :P
Our honeymoon was a one month drive fest through the States that ended with the car in the shop by the time we rolled through B.C. and Alberta. We had to leave our car behind in Edmonton and take the greyhound bus home to Manitoba. What an experience!
My best road trip was when I could finally travel in a car(as long as it was the front seat) and not be sick. I think that was about age 18. Up until then I hated traveling in cars. I still cannot read in a moving car or bus etc without getting sick.
The most fun I ever had on a road trip was back in college, when some fellow members of an association and I drove back to Montreal from a conference in Toronto. I barely knew the other girls when we left Toronto, but by the time we got back we were all giggles.
Me and My best friend had the most fun riding the coast of California!! We did stupid silly things and met alot of people...but that's what makes it so fun!
anyways, the best road trip I've been on was a trip to santa's village with myself and 3 friends in the middle of the night when I was younger!! No apparent reason for going there other than a roadtrip for the night
most fun I had was the summer I bummed around southern Germany! Thanks for saying Andrea will be back soon - I miss seeing her (and the two of you together)
When I was 14 my family drove from Olymia, WA to Bakersfield, CA. My mom let me bring my best friend. 1 of the things I remember most about the trip wasdriving into SanFrancisco. My mom paniced and wound up go the wrong way down a one-way street. A police officer pulled her over and she explained that she was just passing through and didn't know the streets. He told her he would give her a warning this time! She pulled out and immediately turned down the next street. It was the wrong way again!
When I was a kid my Dad took me and my brother up to visit my uncles, aunts, cousins and grandma in Wisconsin. We drove the whole way from Florida and I got to enjoy a lot of America on the way there. Haven't really been on a big road trip like that in a long time.
Having a Griswolds trip to Disney Land with my family! Dad locked the keys in the car less than 30 minutes from home so we had to wait 3 hours for a lock smith. Once we arrived in California, we had a blast until we were on our way home, the luggage rack flew off the top of the station wagon. Dad threw it in reverse on a California freeway & got the luggage rack! Needless to say it is one of our most remembered vacations & funnies! Thanks for the opportunity:)
Hmm, I remember going on a trip to Missouri with a friend of mine, Just singing, and having a blast the whole way there, everyone looked at us like we were crazy, we just smiled and waved and kept on driving. Of course she got pulled over twice just on the way there. Speeding!!!! LOL It was fun!
Our trips to different National Parks when we were kids! My Dad was so cool about planning out the most fun things to do in the area around the park we would visit!
Going on a road trip with my husband and children, and playing silly games (I Spy, counting license plates, etc.). Getting to your destination should be part of the fun! :)
When I was 12 we drove from Colorado up to Canada and all the way east to Prince Edward Island. Then down the coast to Washington, D.C. and then back across to Colorado.
I would have to say the long drive from Ontario, Canada along the East Coast to South Carolina during March Break. When we left, we were more than ankle deep in snow. During the drive, the weather changed drastically and we were hit with a heat wave. We had to buy t-shirts and shorts by the time we reach South Carolina. It was an amazing transformation to witness the landscape change from snow covered hills to trees blossoming in Washington and Carolina. @charmedchickJG
Our family use to travel across country by car twice a year. We always had fun. The most fun was when we would be singing songs to the radio, or old CD's, after a while we would start to get a little punchy, and start making up our own verses. My sons seemed to be natural comediens, and would have us all in stitches. Once, my husband had to pull the car over to the side because we were all laughing so hard! (including him).
Since my road trips have always been straight thru drives, there's never been anything fun about them. I guess I'd say my kids and husband would think the funnest road trip was driving thru Texas and me getting pulled over by the state trooper for speeding. Since I've never gotten a ticket in my life, getting a warning and having to drive 65 for the remainder of the state was pretty comical to them. And if you've ever driven the entire state of Texas, you know how tedious driving 65 is.
I'd say when I drove all the way to Maryland with my whole family when my parents were still together, if was just the best memory and I remember smiling the whole entire time(-:
We set out just driving- no destination in mind- just wandering around- and ended up in the next state over so we went to Carowinds Theme park- much to my daughter's surprise and glee! It was spontaneous and priceless.
driving from Arizona to California with my girls singing to Stryper in the car and bobbin up and down not caring if truckers or other cars think we're crazy
Vegas. It's close for a short weekend vacation and "whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" unless you get arrested or end up on Cops. But hey Vegas is always a risk when you're drunk with money.
The first time I met my husband's family we drove from California to Texas. We drove through Arizona and New Mexico and we went shopping at an outlet mall and just took our time and enjoyed it! Great time! =)
Had to be backpacking in the Smokey Mountains! Started at the lowest point and hiked to the highest point in 12 days. Being chased by the Grizzly Bear was no fun but the rest of the trip was! Good thing the Grizzly was BIG old and fat cause we were able to out run him and he didn't hunt us!
Amtrak was late - as usual - thus some of us were stuck in Washington D.C. over night and I got to see a vey quick but VERY interesting tour of DC. Great fun.
Best road trip was in the middle of the night during a real bad wind storm that had trees falling down on the road and we had to swerve around them almost hitting the ditch, then helping some stranded motorists whose car got crushed by a tree. You really feel alive when your that close to mayhem!
Best road trip was when I drove on my own to Orlando from Nashville, in my Scion xB, heck of a ride...got caught in Atlanta rush hour while it was raining and it took me 13 hours to get there. Not a smart idea to drive somewhere during the day! It only took me 9 hours on the way back because I drove at night.
Freezing in a tiny Geo Metro one winter, going up North with my boyfriend to meet his family for the first time...guess it was all good as we have been married for 9 years now :)
My favorite Road trip was from Kitwe, Zambia to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania with my mom and dad. We were going for my birthday and it was the first time I saw the Indian Ocean. Best birthday ever. :)
Most have been with family when I was a kid, so no fun there. But in university we took off to a couple of OYL (Ontario Young Libeals) conventions, what a blast, beat out the parties during pledge week
Most fun I have had on a road trip is a really tough question as all roadtrips are fun :) My first thought is going to Six Flags near LA. Camping may be the best part of any road trip :)
The most fun I had on a road trip was on my way to Oregon. The Pacific West Coast is so beautiful. I wish I had more time for photos but I still had a blast! I can't wait to drive down the 101 again! If you are ever around British Columbia I highly recommend driving down through Washington, Oregon and a bit into Northern California. The scenery is amazing.
It's right now I think. I flew from California to New Hampshire--I'm the car now amongst the most beautiful fall foliage! But had to take a minute to enter today.
My favorite road trip was when I was 21 and my best friend and I drove from Northern California to Santa Cruz. We took the ocean route and stopped at tons of beaches and ate lots of saltwater taffy.
West coast to the prairies with my cousin, his co-worker and a bunch of kids from a group home. It wasn't really fun as it was interesting because these were kids socially dysfunctional. OI VAY!
Our most memorable road trp[ is one where we took the little ones we babysit on the weekends home with us for a visit. We weren't on the road five minutes when the 3 yr old started wth the are we there yets? So, we turned it into a game with him. Every time he asked the question, we had him sing us a song! He had no idea what we were up to. It was great. He zonked out singing Twinkle Twinkle for the third time! We still laugh about this trip. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!!
I went on a trip from Chicago to "Sea world" with my best friend and her family. I was 15. We have to drive all the way the way there in his new mercedes benz.

Great fun.

any unexpected road trip with the family in the summer is great!

In college, grabbing a few friends and driving. We drove for miles, went nowhere in particular, stopped for coffee, turned around and went back.
