  • Yeah, it really is.

  • There used to be a video around here that showed here sing this live. However, it was later deleted or made private or something. But from what I heard, Autotune is doint its work very well. And btw, since she went into all the trouble of "singing" this, she should at least have tried to learn the words...

  • I'm not sure how I feel about this. She does well on the lower sections, the runs, and some of the higher parts, but it is clear that much of the coloratura material is not suited for her voice.

  • hah I LOVE IT!!!!

  • NO. NO. NO.

  • Fail..... if you're gonna sing this song one has to sing the words. Blaspheme against Mozart if you don't

  • Arg, she totally butchers an amazing song.

  • @SpiderTear its not that bad..

  • @vrbas100 Zaista neverovatno. Toliko svestrana u pevanju...

  • berbat ya bu neeeee

  • @marmara4 ne anlarsın sen!

  • @falkolik oryantalist bi şeyler katmaya çalışmış anladım tabi olabilirde snlardaki o tekno pop mudur nedir bence çok kötü beğendiysen bilemem tabi zevk sonuçta

  • that's not original. there are only 4 female singers left in the world that have a super high voice. original song was maded in my country, Slovenia, and it's called -kraljica noči- but that's the same as queen of the night. but there are alot of diffrent songs also called kraljica noči, so if you want to see original then don't watch in on youtube because you will get something else. and don't send me messeges that l'm saying that sertab erener isn't good, i'm only saying that it isn't original

  • @ivancek11 Excuse me... What original are you tallking about? This is QUEEN OF THE NIGHT. It's aria from Mozart's opera Magic flute. There are many pop versions of this but original is OPERA ARIA, and not some slovenian song. And those SUPER HIGH VOICES are calld coloratura sopranos, and there are more than just 4 of them in the world because they are not dinosaurs to vanish. Soprano is high female voice and there are dramatic, liric and coloratura soprano. Go to opera and find one of them!

  • She could at least bother to learn the damn lyrics, ugh poor poor Mozart

  • Poor Mozart!!!

  • one word: awesome!

  • @bananahamek you must have been bananas

  • OMG WHAT THE F*** IS JUSTIN BIEBER DOING HERE

GET YOUR FU**ING COMMENTS OUT OF HERE AND PUT IT ON HIS VIDEOS!!!

SETAB ERENER'S VOICE IS AWESOME, WHAT'S THERE NOT TO UNDERSTAND???

and im sure those 193 people who unliked this video DOESNT HAVE A SENSE OF MUSIC!

    my God....

  • @MissGoldenAngelGirl Doesn't have a sense of music? On the contrary. This is very disrespectful to both Mozart and also Schikaneder who bothered to write the words for this aria.

  • @MadonnaImperia

what??? im not disrespecting mozart os schikaneder

im telling all these people here to get their justin bieber comments out of here.

and well of course she's not singing the words because she doesnt know italian or greek she is turkish as well as i am

You know the words for opera's are usually italian or greek. it said on a play i went about music and mozart....

  • @MissGoldenAngelGirl I'm not saying YOU are disrespecting Mozart and Schikaneder, I'm saying that Miss Erener, who is in many other ways a lovely artist, isn't respecting Mozart and Schikaneder when she distorts Mozart's music like this and disregards Schikaneder's words. The words for this aria is in German, btw.

  • @MissGoldenAngelGirl You know, opera was born in Italy in 17th century and the most popular opera composers are from Italy like Verdi, Puccini, Rossini, Donizeti, Belini, but also there are other composers from other countries that wrote operas like german composers Wagner and Mozart (who wrote this aria and it's on german since Mozart was born in Salzburg) and Bizet, Gounod (France), Tchaikovsky, Musorgsky (Russia) etc. Please don't speek about something you don't know anything about!

  • @MissGoldenAngelGirl And btw I am an opera singer and I have never heard of greek opera... LOL :)))) But I love Sertab and she is one of the greatest singers of the world and all turkish people should be proud to have her!!!

  • @User320g

OF COURSE WE ARE! SHE WON EUROVISION 2006 WITH HER BEAUTIFUL VOICE! You could go check it on youtube. Just type in "Sertab Erener 2006 Eurovision Every Way That I Can". The pictures on 0:09 , 0:10 , 0:36 , 0:37 , 0:42 , 0:46 show that. :))

  • @MissGoldenAngelGirl Of course I know she won Eurovision!!! That's when I discovered her... She is amazing in every way... :)

  • Where are the words? Oh wait... what's up with all these things Mozart didn't write into the score???

  • abominable pour ma part!!!!

je n'ai même pas pu écouter jusqu'au bout, 05 sc me sufisent a me casser les oreilles!

    quel gachis......

  • @MsMacnini

    Ah oui???

  • Epic fail!!

  • EPIC FAIL!

  • @kosmatejajce he is justin bieber.

  • Sertab's voice is excellent and her rendition of this song sublime.

  • 189 people missed the like button I guess....

  • @merdzina005

    U mean they are drunk

  • @anasassaad2 Exactly haha xD

  • Sertab beyaw... Ne gerek vardı?

  • I'm Turkish and I love Sertab but this doesn't even come close to Lucia Popp's version of the magic flute... Sertab definitely has a great potential but she's not on a par with the true sopranos yet...

  • this is an insult to mozart! 14 year old boys can sing this better

  • @MarioJonasfan96 that´s your opinion and robin schlotz can´t sing it better than sertab erener!!

  • @halibelxXxsinan yea probably not now because of a little bitch called puberty hehe

  • @MarioJonasfan96 okay?!?

in my point of view sertab erener sings it better than robin schlotz!

  • @MarioJonasfan96 show me one who can! lol

  • C'est quoi cette merde !!!!!!

  • Define: kitsch: bad taste + good intentions.

  • Şu bizim Türkler...

  • LOL

  • 0:17 what?!

  • Gee...what a crap! Pure aria...

  • @LimDul84 racism still lives!

  • Pure genious!! I love this track because a) I am an opera singer since I started training at 17 and b) Because I am also a belly dancer since I was 19... so this tune embodies BOTH my favorite hobbies!!!

  • I liked it. No boundaries to music. And Sertab has a good pitch whatsoever.

    Güzel Türkiye.

  • This is crap !!

  • am sure this record happens after she shaw the fith element

    hahahahah!!!

  • me destruyeron el aria :S

  • this is the weirdest alternative version to the song, but her voice has more promise than most others doing strange versions... pity she isnt a soprano because shed be pretty good

  • Hey... it's quite fun to listen to. Love it!

This is good, it says music needs no language ;)

  • Someone didn't feel like learning the words...

  • @Sanbika89

lmao to be fair, not worth it to learn german for one song she probably wont sing again

  • @Sanbika89 That's her version! The main thing is that she can sing these sounds clear and beautiful. And if she want, she would sing along with the text, but it is HER version!

    Sertab Erener, you rock!

  • diana damrau ile sertabın şuanki yorumunu karşılaştırma yapmak cahillikten başka bişey değildir. harikasın sertap..

  • It's certainly different. To my own surprise, I found myself liking it.

  • oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Mozart is rolling over in his grave

  • i bet you can see him downthere

  • turks make this beautiful arya like an arabic belly dans music!!

  • and it turned out lovely as well

  • @bangoramas

you are a fucking monkey yor bastard

  • she performed this song in her album "Sertab Erener" in 1999. Ten years ago! she was kinda amator... she's much better now!

    one of the bestest! ='D

  • This is a disgrace to Mozart and the amazing women who have performed this piece without flaw.

  • long live copy-paste :-P

  • wtf that ruin the song !

  • Orrifico e disgustoso!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • she is a perfect...

  • amator ses icin iyi

  • amator??

  • She has got great voice!

    Wooow! Go Turkey!

I like turkish people they are very generous and polite.

  • Sertab belongs to heaven my friend.

  • I like this version and here voice is amazing ;)

  • sertab zaten küçük yaştan beri müzik eğitimi aldı...bunu söylemek size düşmez...kendisi de pop müzik sanatçısı olmak istediğini dile getirmşti..

  • belki küçük yaştan beri opera eğitimi alsaydı inanılmaz bir opera sanatçısı olabilirmiş.. yazık..

  • If you really like pop music but Sertap r sanatçısıdı proven, but still I can do this kind of muzikte the best in pop music dalda so I prefer to listen to heavy rock in place

  • wtf?

  • Granted her voice is beautiful, I have to agree with other people. She did not sing the song, merely sang the notes. She gets a score for trying though.

  • Comment removed

  • It is so much easier to sing these notes on one syllable than to sing words. All vowels sit in different places and to keep them consistent throughout the range required in this aria is incredibly difficult. While this woman undoubtedly has a lovely voice, she has not 'sung' the aria...it's a vocalise, nothing more.

  • so do it better or the same and why we dont see you on youtube you retarded mother fucker dick sucker loser son of a bitch.

  • Comment removed

  • she is amazing!

  • Unfortunately the sound quality of the video isn't giving Sertab credit. Her voice is in real life fanstactic, I loved her music since I heard her in Ankara in 1998

  • it is interesting. her voice is good, yet it does lack a bit of clarity and maybe a little prettiness. she is a gorgeous girl. i see her in the vein of callas. in that callas was known more for her ability to deliver and present the music and not as much for her tone and quality. this genius lies in the interpretation somewhat similar to sarah brightman in that she redefines something that is already established as being more in the classical genre. very interesting.

  • Why have they added a dance beat? It really doesn't fit this aria. Maybe that's why they took out the words. She has a nice voice, but maybe she should be singing pop instead of opera, especially if pop is her main musical focus. i.e. I sing opera; I CAN sing pop, but it's better if I do opera. You'd be hard-pressed to find someone who could do both opera & pop EQUALLY well, because the 2 styles are like oil and water. This is not intended to be a negative comment, so please do not "retaliate."

  • to mkm576, they added the dance beat to add some turkish flavor :) you might not like it, but i think it went gracefully with it. well, i think if she had some lessons may be she'll be great at it, who knows... but i thought i was lovely.

  • she has already had lessons dude! she left conservatory in her last year to be a pop singer=') kapiş??

  • buuuuuuuuuuuuuuh

  • Sertab's voice is flawless. Anyone, here, who makes negative, snooty comments about her not being up to the standard of this song shows themselves up to be seriously lacking in intellect as well as musical clout. I'd go away and read some musicial literature before I made such an ill-informed statement, if I were you. Which, thank God, I'm not.

  • Sorry, I have to disagree. While I usually like her voice, it does not fit to this song.

You can clearly hear where it has been edited.

  • It's so weird to not hear the words..

I wouldn't call it trerribly bad, it's just that you can hear that she isn't using the proper support for her voice, and thus is probably faking it with studio magic. I've heard this sung live by terrific singers.. I would be very surprised if she could pull this off live.

Nothing against the singer, probably very good doing her normal stuff, just not ready for a piece like this.

  • god music!bonne voix,!!!salut a toi,de vierzon

  • Nice coloratura voice, a little dim though...

  • poor Mozart (

  • All the negative comments here are full with evil, jealousy, and most of them wrong.Open a book learn something and then if you steel have the nerve post a comment other wise stay with you misery

  • exactly !!

  • perfect!

  • It is Sertab Ereners voice.

  • Somebody please supply this chick with the lyrics to this aria...

Oh! and how very accomplished of her to take the time and effort to distroy this aria.

    Brava!

  • Evolution has it's prices and that include music. You should check out the modern day CASTRATO in Briatain's Got Talent - Greg Pritchard

  • I loved it ;o)

  • I like it

  • that version is amazing. but ofcourse, maria callas and she cannot be compared. while sertab was at university, she studies maria callas too. and reaching a note is all about your body, its biological and about using the right techique. if someone says "you canot evet reach E", it is like "your hair isnt even yellow!" they are both nonsense

  • so succesful.. that is one of the hardest one.. congratulations to her.. the final is really awesome..

  • Well, sure, this aria sounds better with lyrics. But I think this kind to perform this song is really great.

Mozart would love this, believe me!

  • ME ENCANTA - LOVE IT

  • who cares germanese lyrics, music is universal, if mozart was as close-minded as you, he couldn't be mozart, enjoy it:)

  • she can reach to a F !! amazing, great job!! love ya :D

  • amazin... and that F!!!! amazing! somebody said... "She should also apologize to Mozart" ...bleh! I sang opera for years and I could say.. that's amazing...a good voice! yeah! she should sing in German or wherever... but the most important in this aria is the voice... remember, the most importan soprano called María Callas, never played this role cuz she can't reach to an F.... U should think about it!

    from Argentina

    Marcelo

  • Nonsense!!! Having high F does not make singer excellent!!! And don't dare to compare maria and sertab. One is an opera queen and the other is a .... i don't know what ;) This is not an appropriate role for maria callas even if she had a high F. Her voice was very dark for this role (medea, tosca or macbeth best suit her). And Sertab does not sing it with lyrics because it's easier to say o-o-o-o. I don't think she can reach high F with the lyrics.

  • It's very demanding and I don't want to be mean, but this doesn't cut it. I can't imagine a company using her as the Queen.

  • I thought Turks could speak German pretty well. She didn't even try.

  • bbbbbbbbbbbbeeeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • Zahmet edip lirikleri ezberleseydi bari...

  • Comment removed

  • And, Aretha Franklin did "Nessun Dorma:, and not too badly, either. Some (too many) think opera is to snobbish already. Put it in something they understand. I say, GO FOR IT! I would rather be singing that, than not singing at all. She has a God given talent, and she is using it. Good for her.

  • Because singing with a microphone requires about 1/50 of the skill it requires to sing real opera unamplified with proper technique.

  • A lovely woman and an interesting rendition. Mozart probably would have enjoyed it. Part of his popularity was writing this in German, when Italian was the vogue. He wrote, dare I say it, popular music...it just happened to be opera in 1790. No TV, no cable, no Superbowl. Folks went to the theatre and to the opera for entertainment, much like we go to movies. Give her some credit. Streisand did it, too. No big deal. Look at it this way, she is bringing opera to lots of people.

  • Nice idea, but she can't really carry it off right. Just leaves you thinking "wtf?"...

  • Your right, she just doesn't carry the notes properly. She should stay in her lower register. tsk.

  • sese bak ya masallah

  • hey people, this is just great, why are you that much narrow-minded? the original is a great masterpiece,i admit that, but you can not blame her because she created sth new by putting the great work into a new concept. respect.

  • syphlitic mosquito? girl.... get a genre.

  • wtf

  • There is something missing here. Let's see... what could it be? Oh yeah, THIS...
  • What the hell was that! Ms. Erener needs to stick to her own genre and not screw around with great works of the masters. I think we need to honor the composer's original intent. Poor Mozart, rolling around in his grave like that. Shameful!

PS If one is going to sing "Der Hölle Rache" the least one could do is learn the damn lyrics.

  • Who says she doesn't know the lyrics? Maybe she decided just to do it like this in this version.

And besides, you can hear her voice is trained and he obviously went to school to sing like this, and she surely sang it there... sheesh.

  • It has nothing to do with whether she can sing or not. That is not the issue. Mozart wrote this piece with a specific idea in mind. I would no more like to see the "Mona Lisa" or Michelangelo's "David" defaced and that goes the same with music. Do we not owe the composer the same respect as we would a visual artist. Certainly, some pop artists such as Michael Bolton have ventured into the classical world. But he at least attempted to respect the composers original intent. Just a thought.

  • how do you know Mozarts specific idea in his mind? I want to learn mind-reading too, especially composers...

  • wow greate performance!

  • i thought its amusing hahaha

  • it is the worst i have ever heard... She is a fabulous singer for a specific field and she has proved it when she won the eurovision contest. But here, she took a machine gun and shot this magnificent and really hard to sing opera song. We cannot sing everything...

  • ew....

    wha the hell??

  • GROSS!

  • what the heck is this darn monstruosity?

  • here the ''opera diva'' shows her ''talent'' in killing songs because she doesn't know the lyrics, her vibrato simply doesn't exist and for the top of the cake she wanted to make that beautiful aria an oriental song...putting the word opera and sertabin the same sentence is just an insult to all great composers...she sure has talent but for pop (not an insult)

  • But she studied solo singing, why shouldn't she sing that, too???

  • There is nothing negativ in this singing expect for that she doesn't know the lyrics and her voice is tired. The one who has a few informations about the Opera and Voice can understand it easily...

  • its beautyfull!!!

  • what a pity to take some "grande musique" to make such a mess . anyway she has a great voice .

  • But she is a well-educated and capable coluratura soprano...
