X4? I trace the downfall back to X3. X3 in my opinion is where the Mega Man X series started to get same-y, hammy, and stupid. Zero took over the badass duties, Sigma was shoehorned as a bad guy into every game (Just like Wily) and X just became a total wimp.
@EdmacZ X was an emo since the first X game, just check the ending and you will see that stupid "WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOR!?" crap. If you are going to blame Capcom's decision of using Sigma as a final boss again and again, you might as well blame X2 for that. X4 was the last one that felt fun to play and still felt like an X game, voice acting issues aside. X5 introduced stupid changes that didn't really change much while at the same time hampering the well oiled mechanics. It felt uninspired.
I have yet to find a remix as good as this original. None of them, even Capcom's MHX version, keep those distinctively low first beats that turn into the backbone of the rest of the song. Instead they get synthed out into the conventional water-stage harmonics, and the rock is lost. Just my experience, but I'm still searching.

This is so different from the other themes; so chill, so understated, and still brilliantly catchy.

it's probably just me, but the song seems as if it's a semi-tone flat

its funny, when I hear this without the level, it does not sound like an underwater theme to me. Still badass nonetheless.

Gosh this game was so damn good, Megaman X was damn good until X4, after that one it just started to get boring and suck.

They perfectly made this music seem like someone in a heroic group sent on an underwater mission to battle the enemy. Sweet stage, also.

BombDestroyer 2 years ago 4
on the cover he's under blue light, whereas the boss room is lit with white light. (maybe?)
