hey awsome truck planning on a build like that my self 79 shorts box 15 inch es of lift fender cutouts 44 inch boggers 454 and an sm465/np205 combo with dana 60 and 14 bolt with a locker or posi. but i have a question the tailgate molding you have that says gmc in the middle i have been trying to find one like that and i was wondering if you know where i could buy one possible new if possible i have an the other version the big on covers the recess in the gate but it damaged beyond repair sadly
awsome i have a set of hedman headers in the garage right now with 2 inch pipe with like 30 or 40 inch glasspacks!!!! now i cant wait to put them on!!!!!
Just Heddman Headers, 2.5" diameter exhaust through some 40" long glasspacks. I think I am going to put this exhaust system onto my Suburban and I have a complete 3" diameter Flowmaster exhaust system for this truck when it goes back together.
hmmm i have long tube hedman heads on my 454 then 2.5" duals to a set of glasspack abot 24" long.....doesnt sound good at all. Check out my vids to see what i mean
At that time I had gotten some used front lift springs that were supposedly an 8" lift. For the rear I used a bolt-on shackle flip that gave about 6" of lift and the stock rear springs with a 2.5" add-a-leaf. Then I also got a used $50 body lift with new body mounts that I put on it. It should have been overall about 11" of lift.
Since this vid I have had two different motors in it, changed axles 3 times, put in a newer version 32-spline SM465/205... but now its all apart again. Getting 4.88 gear'd axles locked front and rear, and a built up solid roller cam 454 once I get it together.
It took me years of saving up used and cheap parts and parts off rigs I parted out to be able to put the GMC back together like this. Not anything was new except the clutch, shackle flip, the oil in the motor and fuel in the tank. Every other part was traded for or kept for free or cheap off parts rigs. Oh, well the paint was new- $1.09/each rattlecan blue and white and I used about 30 cans overall.
I gotta get me one of those.
