  • man, I'd really like to install some windows 98 right now

  • For some reason, I really want to install Win98

  • I would take a vow of slience to play piano like Mose.

  • Funky. I like it

  • Where can I order a t-shirt?

"If you must keep talking.......Please try to make it rhyme"

Love me some Mose! I saw him at this total dive bar in Cincinnati (back in the late '90's) with only a handful of people there. Great show, great musician and song writer. But, how is it that only a handful of people get it?

  • this video is awesome. but just for the record....i need some rum.

  • What an awesome video. Thanks for posting :)

  • Sarah palin Theme Song!!!!

  • @bivmvideo

Leave it alone, buddy. Work instead for civility of discourse.

  • best shit ever

    socrates, socrates, socrates

  • i saw him at baker's keyboard lounge in detroit in 75 and then 31 years later in halifax, nova scotia. the years had passed but he was as captivating as ever. long live mose allison.

  • @swannyla - We'd see him regularly at Mandrakes' on University Ave.in Berkeley in the early 70s. Such a great privilege.

  • @bloozblasterX Wow! Another Mandrake alumni! SWEET! I use to get into Mandrakes' when I was about 19 (fake ID). I checked out Mose Allison, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Joe Henderson, Bobby Hutcherson, The Fourth Way (featuring Michael White), Sonny Stitt (who I later performed with in MANDRAKES), Bill Bell, Yuself Lateef etc., Boy, why couldn't I had afforded a camera back then:(

  • That's Mose, just laid back smooth.

  • Please post his song "If you only knew" Pretty please !!!

  • He is singing about the "TEA party".

  • Greg Brown sings a song title "Mose Allison played Here". Mose Allison is definitely at the top of my Cool Chart!

  • @XPIOLT

    mine too!!!! :)

  • Mose is an enduring talent that has played a big part in the musical score of my life. He is witty, playful and an original to say the very least!

  • I've been a very big fan of Mose for over 50 years. It's too bad that his song "Self Love" isn't on youtube. It's an ode to self-abuse, and he sang it on stage at a show by Van Morrison that was filmed at some club in NYC. I used to have it on VHS. It's a great song.

  • damn this guy is one coool cat

  • Such a cool song!!

    Those 3 cats can Jam!!

  • Very cool indeed.

  • I love this goddamn song

    Mose is STILL rocking

  • I saw Mose perform in an interesting setting -on a barge floating on Seattle's Lake Union. The barge was anchored about 50 feet off The shore of Gasworks Park where an appreciative crowd was gathered. It was a fun, sunny summer day - August, 1982.

  • The writer of Parchman Farm

  • For me...the Bob Dylan of Jazz!

  • Pete Townshend refered to Mose Allison as "a Jazz Sage"

  • Pete Townshend made som fascinatin comments, on the google video, "They Sold Their Souls For rock & roll" part 4

  • @abombinreverse ... sage isn't that a spice for chicken

  • Comment removed

  • @abombinreverse ... I was quoting Keith Moon from the Who. When Pete Townshend would introduce "Young Man Blues" Keith would chirp in with that witty comment.

  • you are right about Keith Moon. is that 'Live at Leeds'?

  • you are right about Keith Moon. is that 'Live at Leeds'?

  • @abombinreverse then sir townshend should be made aware this guy is a blues musician

  • @busessuck1 you're wrong, he's a mosecian.

  • Happy Birthday Mose!

  • Hey, That's Jack Hannah On Bass and Jerry Granelli on Drums! Awesome!!!!!!!!

  • I am just so happy to see Mose again! I too preferred the slower version. He is so great in person, wish I could have been there. Saw him at Shelly's Manne Hole in Hollywood decades ago. He still makes my heart flutter.

  • I hate to be the heretic, here, but I really liked the slower, blues swing version of this tune that was on his early albums. This feel is more in the spirit of "Your Molecular Structure."

Of course, Mose is a true original and can do no wrong i my book.

  • YMS is my favorite son of his.

  • Great music!

  • This man radiates cool.

  • When I saw him in 1975, I was astonished to discover that he was white. Halsted Street, Chicago. Can't remember the bar. I was too young, but with a lot of older ppl so they didn't card me.

  • Mose' contrapuntal action is da bomb. dayyumm. right on... Yo Cptn Jos, thank you for posting.

  • what a swing man! awesome. my legs move by themself

  • I loved it! never heard of him before, youtube is absolutely great! So are you for widening my musical experiences!

  • Mose is incredible. Such a superb musician and such a cool artist!

  • great stuff

  • Yeah, Mose is interesting. I just picked up his greatest hits on record and am jamming to it NOW. Loving it!

  • I have loved mose , since when i first him in the 60' go old man ( just like me ) , too cool to be forgotten ! .

  • I could listen to Mose all day.

  • ta panta ola !!!

  • Akrivws!

  • This song is SO cool!

  • Mose played at Fat Tuesdays on 3rd Ave and 17-18 Street in the City. Saw him near 25-30 times as we lived only 6 blocks away. Long may he wave!

  • krosyter that's just stupid

This is about as musicially different as you can get form that stuff.

  • I was very happy to add another thumbs down. If anybody's an idiot it's you kroyster21.

  • I was very happy to add another thumbs up. If anyone has a point, it's you tbcass.

  • Thanks. This song is all about kroyster21! :-) I've been a MA fan since the early 60's.

  • Awesome!

  • First heard of Mose back in the 80's through

listening to 1960's albums by the British acts: John Mayall ( Parchman Farm ), TheYardbirds ( I'm Not Talking ) etc. Then I heard him doing his own songs and I've been a fan since. Love this song too. A lot of young acts today could learn a lot from this man.

  • Amazing artist! My cousin sent my dad a tape of Mose and...I was just speechless at this mans ability to play...as well as sing like a young man, while he is an older man! Excellent piece!

  • he is my great uncle!

  • my first introduction to jazz was mose. the coolest of the cool.

  • we love our mose! the first time I saw him was in the 60's, have seen him many times. he is the best!!

  • I've seen this cat four times live since 1988. Would have given anything to see this show, as Tom Waits was on the same venue! Seeing Waits in a month in St. Louis. Similar but different! Mose comes to Santa Cruz every year. In 1988, he played at the Monterey Sheraton the Friday night after Thanksgiving for $5. I talked to him at the bar during intermission. Quite the southern gentleman! The next year, same date, $10! Saw him last in 2001, Santa Cruz, Kuwumwbwa Jazz Center, and it was $20.

  • Wow, Mose Allison AND Tom Waits at the same venue!! Now, how cool is THAT??!!

  • Excellent! Been looking for something from this gig for a long time. I think that is Jerry Granelli on drums. Not sure who the bassist is. I remember seeing this on PBS and I've been hooked ever since. Thanks so much!

  • Goed werk, deze video. Jammer dat alle mooie jazzvideo's van Itsartolie onlangs door Google zijn verwijderd. Gelukkig hebben we nu nog steeds Mose's Your Mind Is On Vacation.
