Here is an awesome browser which I am using now, go too flock (dot) com here you can do anything, better then firefox and internet explorer. the social browser.. download and try
Evil. Until now it was rather difficult if not impossible to get the social network data of each user from all the sites like FB and Twitter. Did you guys even listen what he said at 5:06. " There is a backend service that listens to what you guys are doing on your browser". We are just supplying these guys with hell lots of our info so that they can use it to monetize it.
I find Rockmelt to be a superb browser. The speed is brilliant (I have tested it against chrome and found no difference) and the networking side is superb. In terms of its UI it is far superior to Flock in my opinion. However I would like to see some more chat options like MSN, Gtalk or AIM. That would make life much easier.
to be running Chromium the surf is way slower than Chrome even IE. But the social networking side is top notch. Nice job. Now lets work on the load time fellas. 8-)
rock melt IS A BACKDOOR TROJAN it has a keylogger and will put you on a botnet. How do i know this? Because i tore the program apart piece by piece DO NOT DOWNLOAD EXTREME DANGE
i'm sorry, I still don't see the point of a social networking browser.
You can do all this just by having the twitter and facebook tabs open.
In my opinion, they should focus more on the aspects of the browser that make it unique, not the things that make it the same (what you can already do on any other browser.)
They don't focus on what's exclusive to Rockmelt itselt quite enough.
@moonlightkisu you fool. the social aspects ARE what's exclusive to RockMelt. That's what RockMelt is! The rest is just Chromium. If you don't like it that's fair enough but no everyone's the same as you. If you don't see the point in it then instead of commenting on vids you have no interest in, try finding a browser you ARE happy with.
lolwut, i'm a fool just because I have an opinion? do I have to agree with everyone else just because that's cruise control for cool?
And ... I think I already stated what you just have -basically, rockmelt is a chrome clone with social networking built-in, and it's been done before. People are acting like this is new and revolutionary, and it isn't.
Oh, and i'm happy with chrome, and already have been for a while, so uh, thanks.
Hello my name is Matthew Robinson, I wondering if you could spare a RockMelt Invite, please, thanks for taking the time to read this. From Matthew Robinson
BSP: You don't have to wait for Rockmelt to come out to try a browser that is built with the same goals. Fizzik (fizzik.com) is out now. Rockmelt's talking points are the same as ours, only we were saying them last year. Fizzik is just a small, boot strapping startup located in Kirkland, WA, but we are trying hard just like Rockmelt to invent a better browser. Please tell us what you think.
@renato2g4e right now. you have to go to rockmelt.com and request an invite including a download in the email they send you. you do not have to use the social features to actually use the web. you can use the web as you would in firefox, ie, chrome etc. just excluding the social bar and features.
RockMelt looks to definitely be less congested and busy than Flock but I still prefer to combine Firefox/Chrome with Digsby/Trillian (auto-hide) personally. Basically accomplishes the same thing and adds A LOT more (like email, MySpace, LinkedIn and of course multi-proto IM) without bogging down/bloating or compromising the security of the browser for day to day use.
waiting for my invite, but I am already not impressed. I am not looking forward to loging into my browser. On the list of all of the "log ins" that I have to do through out my day, you have just added another one. Thanks!
Exactly, The only differences is that Flock WAS First.... It annoys me when a company come's out with something to try and take over the market claiming they're the first to do this. When in fact they're no where near original and besides you're now going to have to login to start browsing. Let's see how that turns out for them.... LOL That company is retreated thinking logging into a browser is the future. Google is trying that method in a whole OS, look how that turned out...
This looks promising. I'm in for early release. If if this is just chrome with a bunch of extensions built in, which I think it is much more, many people have no idea about extensions and which ones to use.
By logging in via facebook, you are taking your social experience across the web.
Mario: Yeah, but I figure it'll be easy to figure out what's different from Flock when it comes out. So far, toolbars are thinner and you have to log into the browser.
tried it already.. it was okay... :)

Very good for a beta, however I want the search function to open in a real Google page instead of that box type thing.

It'd be nice if the videos allowed closed captioning so deaf people can watch your vids. Youtube can automatically handle the transcription.
