  • If Mr. Roberts would tap the mic, we would all be totally convinced :). But again, he is totally right that the LGcamera free app gives you way better audio fidelity, internal or external mic. But my experience is that a key point is to set the encoder to AAC and up the sample rate. That works on my Optimus V 2.2.2 .

  • On Optimus V 2.2.2, I haven't tried an external mic but the LGcamera app improves the fidelity of the internal mic tremendously !!! To get that you set the Audio encoder to AAC and the audio sample rate as high as you want. (The default AMR encoding only provides the minimal fidelity you need for phone calls, apparently; the sample rate is stuck at 8000 hz). The audio-only app Hi-Q also works good.

  • The sound comes from the internal mic. The sound is the same when he moves the mic far from his mouth. 0:20 It's a cardioid mic!

  • I hate to tell you but the audio for this video is actually from the internal mic. A sm58 will not wort. You need a powered mic.

  • @crouts0 Work*

  • do you have a link for the headphone jack adaptor?

  • how did you connect the external microphone?

  • @swordbellums Headphone jack. It also a input to.

  • What adapter are you using? Is it a TRS or TRRS connector (three metal sections on the 3.5mm plug or four?)? What "audio" setting are you using in LGCamera? I'm trying to use an external microphone with my Droid 2 and LGCamera but no luck!
