  • hehe you have crabs

  • Haha that's funny my crab does the same thing off a small plant I have

  • @CrankySalad Every animal is different. You may want to check your water temperature. When my water is too cold, they hide.

  • This dude gots crabs

  • What does crab eat inside the tank?

  • my mini crab killed my gf lil fish from the back, i think the crab cut the fish, cuz the back is mising from the lil fish lol nd i cant find the back part of the fish in the tank.

  • Ima get another aquarium does anyone know à Nice funny animal for in it?

  • i got two of em

  • i picked up two of em today for my turtle tank. turtle is very wary of them and they of he. they look good tho in the tank.

  • having crabs wont get you very many girls.

  • @YFZ450Kid09 god dammit lol

  • @456024545 lol

  • My red claw crabs won't come out of hiding spots, only when eating and darkness and they won't come out of the water why is that

  • @CrankySalad do you have others in the tank, other fish or crabs may be stressing it ???

  • He's trying to get up to the surface, they need that to sunbathe :d

  • I bought two of those, one died, then the next day we had two crabs again. Out of nowhere! Today another one died (out of the two crabs) and we flushed it down the toilet. Ten minutes ago I saw there is another, fully grown second crab. It says they don't breed in home aquariums and I never see any babies. Odd, huh?

  • i think what ur experiencin could possibily be molting shells...

  • @ashhhhhhleigh YUP i eventually found out myself. pretty odd they look exactly like a real dead crab

  • thats good lol first time ones are pretty freaky- now when i see "dead" crabs on the beach- i think theyre prob just old shells lol

  • do u ever have any problems with te crabs attaking he fish ?:)

  • can i keep a crab like this with my topical fish and turtle? How big does this gets?

  • They are A class escape artists.

  • "Must..get...airOH SHIT"

  • nice! lol Must... get.. air... help me... please.. I won't kill your fish

  • love it

  • what type of fish are those

  • i think there red minor tetras

  • I think their cherry barbs

  • RHOUSE, they're male cherry barbs. Females are brownish.

  • any special requirements for them?

i've been reading up on them, but i hear most keep them in fresh water instead of brackish, with no problem

  • its good to have a some sort of beach effect i know alot of people that keep them and live underwater for a long time but from what i've read they do need access to land

  • yeah. I had four a few years ago, they do need some land.

  • the crab doesn't know how to get to the dry space you provided for it... you DID provide dry land in the tank right? or are you one of those nazi "ooh i love my crabs... it's so fun to kill them!" people?

  • what type of fish are those?

  • Brackish water..?

  • my crab does not have land as such but sits on top of my live plants just poking out the water:)

  • you're gonna fuckin kill your crab. I know nothing about crabs but all I know is that they need to breathe so unless you want crab funerals then get the a higher post that goes out of the water dumbfuck

  • they breathe in the water as any fish, often theese crabs in tanks are underwater crabs, i hade mine completely under water for a year now and its alive....

  • No...

Red Claw crabs do not "breathe water like any fish." They need some space above of the water to dry their gills occasionally, and burrow. Otherwise they will drown - very, very slowly.

It is not uncommon for crabs to live a year completely underwater.

Had you of done some research before buying it, it may have lived up to four years.

I guarantee your's will not get much further than one.

Even if you now start do things properly, you have done irreversible damage to your pet.

  • @terminegger Can i just say that fish nor crabs breath water...they simply extract the o2 from it with their gills. and for all terrestrial crustaceans the gills need to be wet :) hence the occasional soak :)

  • calm down people, this crab had an island to call home, this was filmed while he was hunting, not drowning.

  • people are right- your red claw is supposed to have a landing pad to come out of the water and breathe!!

  • "Red Claw Crabs are determined, if they are anything."

No friggin` duh you asshole if you were fighting for your life you would be determined to get out and breathe

I dont know why store aquariumists sell these delicate creatures to retarded nubs like eyou

  • You have crabs!

    Still makes me crack up.

    And, lil persistent crab.

    So cute.

  • my fiddler crap died is that cause he dint have a place out of the water??!?!?!?!?!?!?/!

  • u can bet ur bottom dollaar yea or maybe too many nitrates

  • fiddler crabs need a place outside the water to breathe and also are brackish they require salt to be in the aquiriam

  • this is normal

they are great escape artist, its probably trying to escape or it wants land to sit on...and breathe lol

  • You need to let them get to the water surface so they can breath every now and then.

  • lol.. hes trying to breath

  • I think they only do this because they need land. I hope you have somewhere for them to sit out of water?

  • i bet she goes adn tried again .. do u have a place for her to get out of the water??
