@666Barbaro Cool! I was thinking it was a male. The stuff I read said males went out this time of year to mate and the females usually stayed put at a den.
I always have a feeling that if I'm seeing a spider on tv or video, there's bound to be a spider watching behind my back (turns around). Well, it must be hiding somwhere...
@dawdlex3 Ohhhh, they are out there! They can hide just about anywhere! Well, not Tarantulas, they are too large, but other spiders are small and sneaky!
@whosaiducaneatmario That would have been a real surprise to have it in my garage!!
I actually had one as a pet when I was a kid. Picked one up and kept it in a little dry 10 gallon aquarium/terrarium and let it go after a couple of weeks. It was pretty interesting to watch. Fed it hamburger and bugs I think.
@whosaiducaneatmario They don't normally bite if your hands are clean and don't sell like "prey". I didn't handle it much though. It looked just like the one in the video, it was a Tarantula I picked up along the highway years ago. They are just a bit smaller than a CD disk in total feet-span in size.
@GenericTechGuy id so freaked out to pick up a spider because im afraid it might jump at me or poison me D: you're so lucky you're so brave T.T id say beetles would be my choice of insect pet ;)
@Coolio1991Re Hehe! Yeah, I'm weird. I set my emergency brake, left my car idling and jumped out with my camera and followed it about for about 3 minutes to get this footage! I kept thinking it would head off into the tall grass by the road, but it turned up the hill and even went toward my car for short a time!
@Coolio1991Re For some reason I can really spot things like animals and odd things when driving, especially if I have my glasses on! :-). I can even see grasshoppers and crickets on the highway when driving 55 if I pay attention... This spider was just so big and dark against the road it was impossible to miss him crossing though!
I think its a male Brachypelma vagans :D I have a female of that specie.

@GenericTechGuy I think its a male because of the small abdomen :) And the legs... too big for a female.

@whosaiducaneatmario I'm not a big insect fan. I like mammals for pets like dogs and cats! :-)

And, if your monitor is REALLY big, it's a REALLY giant tarantula!
DanielLaneDC 1 year ago
@DanielLaneDC Yeah, some monitors really could make it a GIANT SPIDER!
GenericTechGuy 1 year ago
its weird but i think im more afraid of little spiders than these monsters.
tasteslikepaintnwood 1 year ago
@tasteslikepaintnwood Yeah, the big spiders you can see and avoid... It's those little ones that are sneaky!!
GenericTechGuy 1 year ago
@GenericTechGuy that thing is like a moose with extra legs!
tasteslikepaintnwood 1 year ago
@tasteslikepaintnwood Yeah! It does have definite mooselike qualities. Think it's the hair!
