  • Haha, I remember getting this talk when I was 3.

  • That was beautiful.

  • Parents need to start early. Our children need to know that the prequels are only to be experiened after the traditional ceremony of an Original Trilogy marathon. Otherwise they'll be surfing around on the internet one day and stumble across one of those prequel movies. And if they don't have anyone to put what they've seen into context, those images will be imprinted in their young minds, and they'll go around thinking that what they saw in those movies was normal and healthy.

  • Getting your kids into Star Wars is child abuse.

  • @ebuzzmiller34 Fuck you

  • Jar jar binks free Lmao

  • I loved this! It inspired me to to make an Instructable entitled "Teach Your Unborn Child About Star Trek"

  • Where can I get a knitted Yoda hat for MY baby?

Also, we are clearly heretics. Our three-year-old has been observed to race Yoda and Darth Sidious around the bathtub, and he informs me that they're friends but sometimes Sidious is mean.

  • "We dont want our children growing up in a world where Greedo shoots first."

    PRICELESS

  • These guys are on the money, only show the original trilogy to your kids!....If i could i'd burn every single copy of the Special Editions! May the force be with them!

  • omg lololololol

  • This is hilarious... well done.

  • Ahem... YODA BABEH!!!!

  • Jar Jar killed grandma, lol.

  • What's there to talk about?

You tell them Star Wars is over-rated, then go watch some Star Trek.

  • @TheJangofett101 Star Wars is a religion. And the force is with me wherever I go.

You are not a true Star Wars fan.

    Wormo.

  • I cannot wait til I have kids and get to be this awesome :)

  • all these parents are the true Jedis

  • @nowzadick I'm sorry.

  • han shoot first end of story, as a great westen once said "when you have to shoot, shoot don't talk"

  • is this the same Asylum that made "Titanic II" that made me laugh harder than I ever have at a film?

  • 37 people like Jar Jar Binks

  • "Binks killed grandma." Hilarious.

  • Saying "Han Shot First" is not an opinion...

    it's common knowledge.

  • dear god dont show my dad this

  • 37 scout troopers missed the like button because they were crashing into trees.

  • Effin awesome! MTFBWY!

  • Oh my Gosh I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!

  • Did anyone else think it was funny that the black guys is the one talking about the "Dark Side". LOL

  • I would really really like to know where to get the knit Baby Yoda hat. I'm not pregnant, and probably won't be for awhile but...at least one of those needs to make an appearance at my future baby shower.

  • the look on the kids face when his dad says darth vader is luke's father at 2:49

  • lol

  • The 'Han Solo shot first' got me XD

  • Ah, I remember the day our son came to us and said he liked Jar Jar. That was the day of the sit down.

  • Comment removed

  • STAR WARS FTW!! <3

  • I have that hat!

  • I wish ALL of us could have been kept Jar Jar Binks-free!

  • Next episode: Shrek fan dads discuss how they will talk to their kids about Shrek and his mariage with a princess... About marriage between a donkey and a dragon... O.o

  • aaaaaahahahaha my god you're killing me!!! ROFLIMAO XD

  • oh no, poor child. lol funny stuff.

  • martinezSteven, why bring race into this? get over it.

  • I kept waiting to see my husband in this video haha. These guys sound just like him. And thanks to him, our kids are now just as obsessed with Star Wars as he is.

  • Very true, I plan to raise my children this way.

  • Funny! Does anybody know what kind of shirt that dad with the hat & sunglasses at the swingset was wearing? The square design with the bird inside on the pockets & back????

  • I want that Yoda baby hat.

  • Love the video! Very funny. I actually watched Star Wars with my son, in the hospital, after he was born.

  • This is horrible advice. My kids will have full access to my library of 50+ Star Wars books. No way are they going to be told what is the right way to watch it. Let the kids decide what they like.

  • My son used to watch at least a scene of Star Wars everyday when he was 4 years old until he went to middle school.

  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO. That is all.

  • Dark side is better anyway.

  • thats is fucking cute, when i have my kid i want the damn yoda beanie.

  • OH FUCK YOU DADS!!! JAR JAR IS BETTER THAN ALL OF YOU!!!

  • Huh. Wasn't really that funny. I think I smiled once or twice. Oh well, love Star Wars anyway.

  • hahah!!! this is so good! :)

  • Come on people...When to introduce your kids to SW?? REALLY? We had the movies playing IN THE DELIVERY ROOM! Come on. Get in the game already!

  • Bwaaaaahaaaaaaa!

  • Bwaaaaahaaaaaaa!

  • The baby in the Yoda hat is freakin adorable

  • @doobiesmoke15 So that's what that had is. Yeah, she's so cute!!!

  • the kid at the end should've had a lord of the rings shirt on

  • kids these days barely remember Star Wars. The Clone Wars series is freaking awesome but it has its flaws but it's good enough to get the kids into Star Wars. I'm only 19 so no kids but there are people I know that have been deprived of Star Wars and my mission is to bring it to them!!!!

  • I'm doing this with my children. The untoched first three, Jar Jar isn't cool, Han is the only one that shot.

  • @scottieman2 Ya...good luck forcing your children to like and hate the same things you do.

  • @Dayoldsushy That's all PSAs.

  • Kid: How did Daddy die, Mommy?

Mom: Jar Jar Binks killed your father, honey. Jar Jar killed him...

After that, that kid will forever hate Jar Jar Binks. LOL

  • I''ve GOT to get the yoda ears hat for my kid, please tell me they exist online!

  • @BMReaves1 Last I checked, there is an Etsy store that does a lot of great knitted Star Wars related apparel. Including that set of Yoda ears and various other knick knacks for kiddies.

  • I can't wait until I'm a star wars dad!

  • wow get a life people!

  • PSA stands for Public Service Announcement.

  • what does PSA stand for?

  • meh... the whole video is summed up by the title "Star Wars Talk to Your Kids PSA"

  • AMAZING.

  • Dude. This is how I will raise my children: you speak to my soul!

  • "I don't want to spoil that Darth Vader is Luke's Father" Dude you JUST said it in front of her!!!!

  • Oh Dear, I loved the part about Jar Jar Binks.

  • Comment removed

  • This was amazing. Beautiful. Informative.

  • Damn straight. Episode 4 a new hope is the greatest film of all time, we just fail to realize it! The original movies took you away to far off lands, galaxies, introduced you to endless possibilities, introduced a magnificent mythos that took from all forms of fiction, and revolutionized the way you see movies today. Movies like Citizen Kane are masterpieces of their own design, but I could never watch those as a kid, with Star Wars I can watch it at any time and always enjoy it.

  • @Metalheadgangster Yes ep 4 was the best one and everyone after was a notch down. 4 stars, 3.5 stars, 3 stars, 2 stars (twice) and 2.5 stars.

  • @3089280288 Disagree. Empire was awesome.

  • Hello, guys. I'm rhinnawi95, and my parents never introduced me to Star Wars. I first discovered it with the arrival of Attack of the Clones to the cinemas by some fellow first grade friends. I am among the lucky ones to have realized the true value of the original trilogy, and the quality it possesses over the prequel. However, I am not a common case. I ask you to take the advice of these great people in this video, and don't repeat my parents' mistakes. Thanks, and may the Force be with you.

  • Star Wars? Hell, I'm going to show my kids movies like Back to the Future and Alien.

  • I've had to take on this task with my boys as a single mom. Fortunately it wasn't as hard as it could have been. I've been able to answer their questions easily. Helps to be a fan myself. In fact, they've learned much on their own with repeated viewings. I'm proud of how they've grown.

  • Why is "A Woman's Perspective on Premature Ejaculation" related to this?...

  • @Dreadmantisthe2nd

I think we all know the answer to that. (:

  • lmao

  • I absolutely plan on exposing my future son to Star Wars at a very young age. Even teach him the ways of the Jedi. BUT, I LIKE the prequels. I don't care how many stones get thrown at me. Yes some of the acting was terrible, yes there was a lot of silliness, and yes there were some bad characters; but I thoroughly enjoy watching the entire story come together. I still watch Revenge if the Sith just hoping Anakin doesn't make that mistake again. It still elicits excitement and emotion.

  • I am snorting I am LOLing so hard right now. Best vid on YouTube.

  • I have the Star Wars ABC book for my 1 year old daughter

  • lmao good vid

  • ohhhhhhhh what is going on here?????

  • I hated Jar Jar and can't enjoy the movie because of him!

  • I was in a public setting and told my kid how much the Anakin Skywalker portrayed as a younger self in ep. I - III by the "actors" who were cast was a (expletive deleted) representation of the "true" Darth Vader and also how Jar Jar Binks was the devil and should have been shot during the initial droid onslaught on Naboo. I was immediately bagged and thrown into what I can only assume was a van by George Lucas and Hayden Christensen and woke up next to Candy Mountain missing a kidney.

  • Please tell me this is fake

  • first Star Wars movie I seen was Episode 6 Return of the Jedi and I was 4

  • ...i do this with my nieces and nephews but they were already contaminated by Episode 1...it will be an uphill battle but i must try...No! there is no try! I WILL DO IT!!! i will make them love the original trilogy!...

  • these guys have straight faces all the way through

  • @mannachoochoo That's called acting.

  • @slone13 well sorry

  • @mannachoochoo What are you sorry for?

  • is this for real

  • Duuude, I don't see any Asian Dads in there, which is disappointing!

  • I'm 21 and I'm glad my dad (and the rest of my family on both sides) were geeks. It went like this not only for star wars but also for comics, movies, music etc.

  • This video is so helpful but, guys, I BEG YOU FOR HELP!!! My girlfriend doesnt want to listen to Star Wars because she think its lame. Help me turn her to the dark side... Wait that sounds ackward and bad, but.... reply my comment for your help!

P.S. I know what you think... "Man, you're still with her?" The answer is yes because shes hot and she can... use the force to.... turn on my lightsaber... :P

  • @kevenbelangerharbour hehe well said sir. well said

  • I am a dyslexic who learned to read because I needed more Star Wars. Couldn't put down the EU.

  • i want a yoda baby, but i need to find a girl first:(

  • Trufax: I saw Star Wars seven times the year I was born. (1977). Apparently, I was a very very quiet baby.

Also trufax: We plan on only showing the first three (New Hope, Empire, Jedi) movies to our kids. If they ask , we'll tell them that Lucas had a nematode worm in his brain when he made the next three.

  • Binks hates puppies. Binks killed Grandma.

  • @marvolution Binks must be a Republican then.

  • We started our teaching with just the playing the soundtracks of the films. And the Imperial march is a theme we hum on regular basis at home.

  • This video is sooooooooo funny!!!!!!!

  • where are all the wookies...

  • why does the black guy gotta talk about the dark side???

  • @MartinezSteven that's kind of a stretch.

  • @MartinezSteven cause he's wise

  • I started watching Star Wars when I was just a baby. Truth be told if I hadn't been introduced to Star Wars, I would be a very different person. I would most likely be a homicidal maniac. Maybe even worse than Charles Manson or even Hitler. Star Wars has given so much to me, and I am grateful for every bit of it. If it wasn't for Star Wars I would be dead, in prison, or in a psych ward somewhere. Thank you, George Lucas for all your great films.

  • 24 people like the prequels.

  • 24 viewers are either Sith or Jar-Jar fans, and I'll see all 24 of you in hell.

  • Omgg the yoda baby is freaking ADORABLE! :P

  • The best way is to treat the original trilogy like the New Testament (ie. pure and gospel) and the prequels like the Old Testament (ie. silly and suspect)

  • @310sucks I um... wow... well it's the internet and your spelling is good, so I'm going to assume you're brilliant and ironic rather than like, scary ignorant about religious origins. Or worse yet, correct movie production dates.

  • 23 People had their Grandmothers killed by Jar-Jar.

  • @AceProductions91 (chuckled) Gimme a 'break.'

  • Hahaha I love this so much

  • Just say no to prequels.

  • I backed up my VHS original versions not just for me, but also for my future kids.

  • Keep your kids Jar-Jar Binks, please!!! LOL!

  • "Imagine a world in which generations of human beings come to believe that certain films were made by God or that specific software was coded by him. Imagine a future in which millions of our descendants murder each other over rival interpretations of Star Wars or Windows 98. Could anything — anything — be more ridiculous? And yet, this would be no more ridiculous than the world we are living in." -Sam Harris

    : )>

  • @fuqrot It will come. Religion will pass and replacing it will be the SW saga and the divisions over its interpretation. It'll make Northern Ireland look like Sesame Street.

  • Couldn't be a more perfect video <3

  • LOL... Jar-Jar Binks- Free. I'm all for that!!

  • There are truths and there are kinds of truth, and this is one of them.

  • my dad was worried because he gave me the talk a little late, but I came through and I watched them all in the correct order and still have my very first lightsaber.

  • may the force be with you all!!

  • This video may have been meant to be humorous, but that doesn't make it any less true. I someday hope to be a Star Wars mom.

  • My Mom threw away my At-At, Falcon and Scout Walker toys.

We have a good relationship now, but it's still hard to talk about what happened.

  • @batman2909

I feel your pain. My Mom sold all my Star Wars toys for quarters at a garage sale. I saw other boys walking away with my X Wing and Special edition Yoda.

I prefer not to think about it.

  • @batman2909 I think they might have counciling programs for that

  • Ok, this was beyond awesome.

  • 20 people taught their kids that Jar Jar was cool.

  • The gratuitous, hateful, and—by now—clichéd attitude toward Jar Jar Binks ruined an otherwise potentially clever piece.

The writers clearly ascribe to the "George Lucas-raped-my-childhood" philosophy of Star Wars typical of forty-something losers who arrogantly believe that Star Wars was created solely for themselves, while simultaneously putting the lie to the notion that they actually love the Saga.

  • These are the same people that—before the Prequels came out—hated the Ewoks in "Return of the Jedi" with the same fervor now reserved for Jar Jar Binks, yet now hypocritically proclaim the Original Trilogy sacrosanct.

Children like Jar Jar Binks for a reason; a reason these "fans" discarded from their souls a long time ago.

  • @SomebodyFarted I'm the father of the Yoda baby. I've got no problem with the Ewoks. Never did. Jar Jar, however, is an abomination.

  • @slone13 : You have to help me with the name of the etsy seller for the Yoda hat. This is a life or death situation. I cruised Etsy, but there are many sellers cranking out lame work and the one you have on your baby is ace. Please help make my year.

  • @Trinnimar Hi. I can't remember the seller's name, but searching "yoda knit hat" was how we found it. Someone named nightngayle is currently selling one that looks the closest to the one that my daughter wears in the video. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

  • @slone13 Is that you in the video or did they borrow your little doll baby for the the shoot? That baby in that specific cap is one of the cutest things I have ever seen in all my 54 years. I want to get one and save it for my grandkids b/c both my sons are total Star Wars geeks. They can recite every line from the 1st 3 movies having watched each innumerable times.

  • what the hell

  • 1:58

Totally agree! That was insulting and should not have been done!

  • I commend you on a job well done!

  • Han solo shot first or STFU!
