  • I cant download the file, can you pm the algs?

  • what the fuck does "permuted" mean? i thought this was sposed to be a tutorial. not something that confuses me more.

  • my record is 2.65 and I'm 12 years old :)

  • @beatsforless age has nothing to do with anything.

  • @TheMrcobain what if your 2 months?

  • @MLSxEazoon then you must be a fucking genius. It's like people saying I like this type of music and I'm 12. It's like who gives a fuck

  • @beatsforless you use what method?are you use guimond method?

  • @akmalhafiz1 Not sure what method it is i just solve the first face and then the last layer like a 3x3 with oll and pll

  • would it be possible that instead of doin 'y's, you can jjust turn the u layer ?

  • is this harder than the 3x3 or easier?

  • @littlemissmoneybag easier. 3x3 is pretty easy you just have to remember when to use the next algorithims

  • Just solve the fucking cube :|

  • What cube's that?

  • @Rowena97x eastsheen 2x2

  • 3:16 Lol backside

  • My average time doing the beginners method is around 10 seconds... if I learn this method inside out, roughly what times will I be getting? Thanks

  • @malingamurali probably 4-5 sec. A lot of the the algs could should be swapped with better ones. Probably the fastest average achieved by anybody is sub 3 avg

  • No actually that was my sister comenting so sorry o and you jostlecubed you don't want to mess with me cuy you mess with anyone in y family you mess with me.

  • dude you have to explain your self in don't get you at all! you did not explain what is the goal or anything you don't know how to teach.

  • @arguelar No, you're just stupid.

  • Which is faster? Ortega or this method?

  • @808PureAloha808 well, i know ortega, guimond and cll and here are the advanteges and disadvanteges. So,

i use Ortega when i have a side that is not permuted already solved or it has to be solved with one or two moves.Thats tricky two because when you have to do one or two moves you can see what case are you going to have on the U face.Cll when it is easy to build a layer or a permuted side and guimond when you have the first step already made which comes very frequently honestly.

  • what is an L, a U, and an R

  • Check out my ortega method tutorial for the 2x2! have a nice day :)

  • For switching 2 corners you can also use F'U' F U FR 2F U F U F' U' F R

  • 6:06 sorry, but that fugure looks like the nazi marking. don't remember what it's called

  • PBL's are the same as in ortega right?

  • is this faster than ortega's method? and how would you applicate fridrich on the 2x2? first layer, OLL and PLL?

  • @LuKaS2oo9 it is faster than ortega

  • @sa11297 and even faster than fridrich?? what method does feliks zemdegs use, do you know?

  • @LuKaS2oo9 no sry but the fastest cubers use cll and eg1

  • Awesome tutorial!

  • why would my comment be flagged as spam? I'm merely explaining the way I solve that cube.. I'm not trying to make any money or anything of the sort.. just trying to help people solve that cube in a much shorter way. what is wrong with that?

  • YOU SUCK UR NOT EVEN TEACHING YOUR GOING SO FAST <.<

  • swastika at 6:30

  • what is x and y?

  • i dont want all these steps i just want 1 algorithem to solve it ):

  • I remember seeing somewhere a post by Erik Akkerdijik that says not to learn ortega, and he's god so he would know.

  • EG is the best if you wanna learn ALL the 120 algs, but CLL is best for under 50 algs. Rowe uses CLL usually

  • BORING :0

  • Is it faster than Ortega?

  • the steps at 7:47 reminds me of your way of solving the corners on a square1

  • @b1ywzd37 its exactly the same :D

  • @Thrawst is this better than the ortega method?

  • To me colour neutral Ortega is best because:

1: It is really anoying 2 get first layer on fridrich.

2: Its really easy 2 be colour neutral on a 2x2 unlike 3x3 because of F2L pairs.

3: Being colour neutral in ortega means first step takes an av of 4 moves.

    4: Guimond has 4 steps unlike Ortega's 3.

  • what brand of 2x2 cubes do you use and can you send me a link of where to buy them? i have a crappy rubik's brand 2x2 cube! thanks

  • @wiirocks111 There is eastsheen, ghosthand and LanLan! Hope I could help!

  • @wiirocks111 try speedcubeshop. theyre out of stock ATM but they should get lots more stuff soon.

  • oh noes!! your first layer can have opposite colours! that is why the first step is often skipped!!

  • its almost ortega haha.

  • Ortega is not the name of a person. Guimond is the name of a person and he is the one who revived the cube the step one is fastest and very fastest without inspection. The world is seeking an opinion without evidence.

  • this is a good method but leaving the last corner and stuff in the end don't make a difference thus only making you think harder. I prefer ortega but others may like this

  • thanks

  • the link to the pdf file does not work..

  • do you know how to solve a triple 2x2? i need help

  • I have already learned full Ortega method do you think it is worth learning this method or is it slower

  • @CubeFan4848 It is kinda slower

  • thanks man i will learn this method

  • This is HOT!!! ;)

  • i can already do this but i cant do a 3X3

  • hey thrawst could you make another video on this,i couldnt understant it,but if you cant its okay:D

  • dude you are going way too fast

  • He isn't.

  • @davidiv123 not he is not

  • look i apologise if i am a slow learner but i can't seem to understand his way of explainging so my immediate reaction was "woah he is going too fast" however he is very unclear when he explaing.

  • me to i am also a slow learner

  • where is part 1 ,,,

  • i don't see the point of the "y" moves???

  • makes the moves easier to perform

    contrasting a B with an R or L

  • okay i understand now but wouldnt that slow down your time. i don't have a 2x2 but i have a 4x4 and i use it and solve it like a 2x2 yea its a lot bigger but hey it works

  • @FredandSami it's a matter of preference

  • 6:32 look at diagram of cube.. HITLER!

  • that isnt hitler, its swastika you dumb ass

  • uh he probably didn't mean it like that he probably was calling the guy hitler!

  • oh i see it

  • wow...

that is all I have to say to that...

  • this method is similar to the ortega method

  • Comment removed

  • Heres my 2x2 tutorial-

Solve it like a 3x3 using on 2 algorithms. Ri,Di,R,D and when switching the coorners when 1 is in the right place. I cant seem to remember that one though. lol im stupid and smart at the same time occasionally

  • Im just wondering, why is it called the guimond method?

  • A guy called guimond invented it?

  • Gaeton Guimond

  • Made by whose surname is Guimond, I imagine.

  • ='( how do you remember all these algorithms mate, I only can remember 2 at the most of the most.

  • I'm sure you can remember more. I'm over 100 by now.

  • BoooBBBBBBBBBasssdasdsaasdbndfasda

  • 5:45 you say U, you should put an annotation of correction, even if people watch the move/written alg

  • CLL ftw

  • this method is very good but i still prefer the ortega method

  • if there was no God how would you be here?

  • Evolution....

  • is incorrect

  • what do you mean?

  • LUL'

    Had to do it xD

Great tutorial for an advanced method, I kinda memorized all of 'em, I just need more practice (for the top layer situations, I mean). Again, great tutorial!

  • link to the algorithm page is not working

  • tooooo many to memorize

  • man im still on the 1 cube so hard d:' ok so i do this and dang it* LOL

  • i cant figure out the thing where you need to get the top and bottom faces solved it never works for me

  • ortega is better.

  • @koneric eg is better

  • Comment removed

  • Hell no.

  • no (apparently this comment is too short) ( ahh that's better)

  • how did you get a video over 10 minutes?

i thought you could only do 10 minutes max.......

  • i think once youtube pays you to put adds in your vids it can be as long as u want

  • but thrawst didn't put any ads. in his vid......

    whatever

    thanks anyways

  • hes a partner

  • oh yeah, it says "tube" on his descripion thing

    thanks

  • if you have a director's account you can do this also.

  • cool, so when you make the youtube acc. you just choose "director" and it will let you?

    thanks

  • you have to pay for it

  • yer because he is a youtube partner

  • @qwertyriffic they expanded it to 15 :D

  • Some of the algorithms are labeled incorrectly.

  • Have you looked at erik's site? The algs work. Since some of them have a rotation at the beginning of the alg, the corner wont necessarily always be at the back left.

  • Over 3 million.

  • There's quite a lot... Fridrich, Guimond, Ortega, EG, Stern Sun, LBL, and last DOTS, which requires 3000+ algorithms.

  • Yep :) Lol yeah, I prefer Ortega because you just make a layer (they don't have to be permuted or oriented per se, just in the right spot, like you could solve the white side, but have it incorrect). Then, orient the yellow side (or whatever is opposite white), then do XLL to complete the entire cube after two oriented sides. CLL is good also because you just solve the corners on the bottom like on a 3x3, then do the 20 or so (I'm not exactly sure Rowe has vids on it) to solve the top layer.

  • Yes, but Ortega and CLL are worth learning way more than Guimond for 2x2.

  • this method so hard....

  • that's why it's the advanced method

  • it's a 2x2! u guys honestly need a video to solve it?

  • honestly yea

i can solve a 3x3 in abt 30 seconds on a bad cube

and it took me abt 10 minutes to solve a 2x2 by myself (it was SO hard to move it)

  • O.o You've never tried to solve one, have you?

  • if we want to solve it in less than 10 seconds, yeah :P

  • i solved it in 3.9 secs with this method and my old record without any tutorials (except 3x3 by thrawst) was 4.6

  • Haha great ending. "I dont know those algs." good vid man

  • could you put the algorithms on your website cuz their not there

  • broken link

  • Cool method. I just use the first one, cause this one is a little confuzzling.

  • lol you dont know your right from your left

  • thrawst, your definition for the first step is wrong, the first side can be opposite colors.

like blue/green.. the first step only requires 2 moves. [sorry if i'm wrong]

  • the algorithm sheet wasnt there

  • retarted kid

  • ur too fucking confusing

  • what does ' mean

  • it means prime/inverted. basically it means you turn that side counterclockwise, instead of clockwise.

  • the first 1 u said y R U R but it is y R' U R

  • Thanks, you helped with the Perm's a lot:)

  • hmm... try using the algorithm in LBL for getting the corners oriented

  • one thing i don't understand is how you remember ALL the algorithms

  • the link doesnt work

  • Dude... I have a Mensa Rubik's Sphere "The Orb" which is essentially a 2x2... but yet.. im stuck.. i have the bottom face solved with 3 quarter solved faces with an un-orientated solved face at the top..

    Any Ideas =P

  • you're the bestttttttt

  • wat is the best 2x2

  • Eastsheen

  • well it hasn`t come out yet but I think the v cube 2, when it comes out, will be the best but that`s just a prediction and I think that wont be out for a few months, maybe years

  • is ortega faster than guimond?

  • Guimond is faster

  • The records are held with Ortega though :) I don't use it but I'm pretty sure that the fastest method is Ortega.

  • dude can u keep some consistancy on what side your solving please?

  • thrawst there is a better method called the ortega method I recommend you make a tuorial on this method

  • lol 4:05 'LUL'

  • some1 give me a reason y eastsheen brand is better for 4 by 4, 5 by 5, and 2 by 2?

  • they just are. apart from the 5x5 where you should get a v-cube

  • eastsheen 555 are a fail imo mefferts ftw.

I havent tried the v cube yet :(
