  • Thank you! What a great way to bind books.

  • So cute! Something they'll cherish!

  • THANKS! You are awesome. I was wondering about the tape dispenser you used for the ribbon... what was it called?

  • @sifreeze17 Its an ATG gun They have them at Michaels in the scrapbook section.

  • Great tutorial. Had 2 add to my favs. I just recevied mine from creative express for 12.99 for the bundle (hooray). I am glad 2 know I dont have 2 spend alot of money on the covers which I thought about this idea while watching...... I bet you could buy the hardcover books and rip the pages out and make some books this way for cheaper.

  • I'm so glad you shared this. I bought the machine a while back with big intentions but it didn't come with many binding books and I just haven't done anything with it. I knew I could make my own but really hadn't seen it done and thought I had to buy their glue strips... which I had none of. So it was great watching how you made your own and that you used your hot glue gun.

Question... how well does the hot glue method work? I'm thinking of making some books for Christmas.

  • @angiover7 I used the hot glue method on all of these books and my daughter still has hers. It works very well :)

  • these are so pretty!!...& what a lovely idea too ...can imagine their excitement when they get these... your daughter & her friends are lucky to have you in their lives :)

    TFS!

  • @HRayan so kind...sorry it took me so long to come back and read these. thank you for stopping by and watching.

  • Nice job. Good camera work. You were clear and easy to understand. I hope you will go more tutorials. thank you

  • what process do you use to cut paper all the same size?and not waste alot of paper?

  • @gdoughty22 For these I used 8 1/2 X 11 but there is a bit of waste. Probably a lot less waste if making 4X6 album using 12X12 because just cut in half at 6 inches and then cut twice at 4 inches = zero waste

  • @2tinytreasures My girls just made 4x6 books and there was a lot of waste because I used 8 1/2 x 11. But I kept the waste (well... scrap) and will be using it for tags, bookmarks and other items. I am really big on reusing all my scraps.

  • I just got my machine last week and I'm so happy that I found your video ! How great to know I can make my own covers ! Thanks for the video.

    Evelyn

  • thank you for responding to my question about cover size. I received my machine today...boy, not much in explanation in the instructional book!! I've received more help on line from folks like you! Thank you again. Yes, I did find the covers being larger and the pages @ 4x6 and 5x7, etc. I appreciate your videos

  • Where did you get the circle on the front that says birds of a feather flock together? It is so cute and I'm making a bird scrapbook and would love to buy it somewhere.

  • @Raven2322 that was from we r memory keepers on their website...i think... weronthenet It's an old set from a few years ago. They call them gromlets

  • I have ?...what size is the cover? I guess what I'm needing to know is if the cover is 4x6, then what size would the inner pages need to be? I want to start cutting and assembling my photos onto the paper so I am all ready to adhere to my cover when my machine is delivered next week. TY to whomever answers my ?

  • @dmacdots i think the cover is larger than 4X6. I just trace it...the inside pages are 4X6

  • Oh wow! So happy to come across this tutorial. When I first bought my machine from the US about a year ago, I stocked up on a lot of the hard binding books (because you cannot find it here in Australia). They don't come cheap and shipping costs were expensive. Also I had recently seen that they had the new soft covers but couldn't find them to sell individually as they came with a package deal. Now that I know that you can make your own covers I will be able to save time and money. Thanks & TFS!

  • @blue8ear tfw! glad it was helpful

  • oh my gosh! just what i was looking for, just opened the box and wondering if i could make my own! thanks so much for sharing, so much fun all these utube crafts! and did you decorate your glue gun??!!!lol

  • @BrendasArtInNature youtube is so great to learn and share! tfw!

  • I just ordered the little Your Story photo binding model and it was only 14.95 with 28 covers!!! Can't wait to get it and make my own covers, too. Thanks for the info.

  • This is a fantastic tutorial. I think the YouStory machine will sell better thank s to your tutorial. Really helpful. Hugs, Kiki

  • @serafinascrapping haha...last time I watched on HSN I was just shaking my head...they didn't have Ginger from Provocraft and the lady didn't show it so well...I was like hire ME hehe

  • @2tinytreasures So true. It would help Provocraft to remember that customers like versatility. Kiki

  • After you bind the book did you place it to cool in the cooling slot?

  • @luv2craftcards yes...it needs to cool about 3-5 minutes

  • Oh my gosh... GENIUS!!! I had no clue it was that easy. I was a little nervous that I would have to keep rebuying those books. Thanks for sharing!!

  • @JustDahling ooo just watch video on HSN from today! Easier method...just trace the CARDSTOCK folders and then you don't have to do any measuring since those will lay completely flat. I just ordered some on sale at Joanns I'll demo how I do the 5X7's and larger albums later this week. In a nutshell, same way just overlap on front or back cover to make finished cover since 12X12 is too short.
