I built the Fractal Antenna . I don't know if I did something wrong , but it just didn't seem to be very sensitive to me , while the coat hanger antenna seemed to work very well .
Bigger will always be better, this is just a more compact (cool) design If you make it bigger or the same size as the coathanger antenna it will work the same/better
Just buy a high gain UHF antenna... DTV uses the old Frequencies for CH 14-51. a simple loop will work if you are close enough to get a decent signal. Note old UHF (short element) antennas will work. VHF (long element) will NOT work. However you can still use your old antenna even if it has both UHF and VHF elements.
@PhysicsGuerrilla Not all stations are on UHF. Philly's WPVI is still on VHF channel 6, and Dallas' WFAA is still on VHF Channel 8, for example. A standard UHF antenna will not receive these VHF signals.
Are the triangle sides 1" in length and repetitive? How do you calculate the lengths from wavelength? Does it make sense to repeat this pattern over and over to gain some amplification of signal?
i think that the shape has at its base david's star and it seems that psb2usa used matches in his dimension sketch. you play with a 60 degree all angles triangle and you got some fractals. :D
I am interested in the lengths of the wires but they are blurry on the video. Could you please give them here? This is an old design and antennas like this are being brought back, because of the need for outside antennas again. People are finding out that this new protocol of DTV has weak signal problems big time. If its not a 110% signal you wont get it on DTV without some help. This would be a great project for our new people in our local radio club! Thanks!

You cant see the dimensions off the wire and angles? ...thxs

Can you tell me the measurements lengths off the wires to make the configuration and material?

can you show all sizing of model?

Has anybody used the fractal "Kock's Snowflake" in a fractal antenna design?
Seems like it would only one lenght of wire like the old uhf loop.

So do the quality of materials make a difference?
Copper > Steal ?

@dan1701a Thanks, I have not fully researched all the frequencies.

I must say it does work when hung in a window pane. So far, I have built 3, all with similar performance.

It's based on the Koch Curve.
"a 60 degree all angles triangle" That'd be an equilateral triangle.
dood...
