Wow! Does that bring back good memories! I bought one new in 1972 & rode it for 14 years. What a great bike! Super reliable too! Thanks for the video.
had a 71 extended forks custom pipes seat paint had it on lay away making payments at 16 years old. Had to wash dishes to pay for it over a year. Drove a 125 Suzuki through the freezing snow in Chicago to work with oven mits for gloves and cardboard taped to helmet shield. When year was up ready to get bike , dad found out you can get a motorcycle license at 16 but insurance law was 18 years old, couldnt get the bike. all my life has been getting whatever bike i want now
God that is such a reality...sadly so true. But you can keep one or two in your garage to tinker with and go out when there is no traffic - safer than bicycles on roads - kind of.
That's amazing. I bought one brand new for about $1600 Canadian. Looks great and sounds great too. Lots of vibration over 60 mph. other than that it was great bike.thanks for the memory
Nice bike. I bought one in the fall of 1971 and still have it (about 80-90k miles). It does not run but I am in process of restoring. Love these bikes
Thanks for the great video! I bought my '72 650 Yamaha new back in March of '73. I remember paying $1200 for it. Seemed like a lot at the time. Sold the bike in 1977 when I became a father.
I loved that bike. I always made sure it sparkled and always had clean oil.
Great memories. Wish you would have included some video of it going down the road.

Had a 70 model which I think was the first year they made them. Rode the hell out of it for about a year then sold it for the same amount I paid.

I had the same bike, year and color, I sold it because I want to watch my two little girls grow up, I miss the bike but love my girls more.
